Eryn Wright
Eryn Noel Wright, 18, of Severn, died July 5, 2001 of multiple injuries suffered in an automobile accident at Route 32 and Burns Crossing Road in Odenton.
Miss Wright was born in Phoenix, Ariz., on Sept. 24, 1982. She was a graduate of the Calvary Chapel Christian Academy in Severn and also attended the Center of Technology North, earning a license in cosmetology. She currently was a student at Lincoln Christian College in Bel Air.
She was a member of the youth group and the Church Prayers Team of the Christian Church of Christ in Severn.
She enjoyed singing, music and spending time with children.
Surviving are her parents, Vincent Wright Sr. and Jo Ann Stewart Wright; her brother, Vincent Wright Jr.; and her sister, Allison Wright, all of Severn.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Singleton Funeral Home, 1 Second Ave. SW in Glen Burnie. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Christian Church of Christ in Severn. Burial will follow at the Glen Haven cemetery in Glen Burnie.

Rita Brockmeyer
Rita Marie Brockmeyer, 81, of Severna Park, died of respiratory failure July 10, 2001 at Anne Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born April 9, 1920, and raised in Baltimore, the former Rita Marie Vogt graduated from Mount Saint Agnes High School there.
Mrs. Brockmeyer lived in Severna Park most of her life. A homemaker, she was very active in the community. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and its Altar Society and belonged to the Catholic Daughters of America.
She enjoyed travel and entertaining. She was a charter member of the Inner Wheel of the Severna Park Rotary Club.
Her husband, Gerard G. Brockmeyer Sr., who was the postmaster for the Severna Park Post Office for 39 years, died in 1998. They were married
for 51 years.
Survivors include one son, Gerard G. Brockmeyer Jr. of Severna Park; one brother, Ambrose E. Vogt of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. John the Evangelist Church, 689 Ritchie Highway. Interment will be private.

Bernard Keirsey
Bernard Goodwin Keirsey, 75, died July 9, 2001 at his home in Millersville. The cause of death was not available.
Mr. Keirsey was born Nov. 16, 1925, in Baltimore to the late Bernard G. and Grace Earnshaw Keirsey. During World War II, he served in the Merchant Marine from 1943 to 1945.
A long-time resident of Millersville, he was a self-employed paper-hanger.
He was a member of the American Legion and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Mr. Keirsey enjoyed his family and friends, sports, and jokes.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, the former Gloria Samums; three sons, Bernard G. Keirsey III of Severn and Brian Ralph Keirsey and Robert Steven Keirsey, both of Millersville; one daughter, Terry Wilkins of Auburndale, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. July 13 at Community United Methodist Church, 1690 Reidel Road, Crofton, Arrangements are by Singleton Funeral Home in Glen Burnie.

James Tigner
James A. Tigner Sr., 86, of Greensboro in Caroline County and formerly of Annapolis, died of cancer July 10, 2001 at the Talbot Hospice House in Easton.
After 35 years with the federal government, Mr. Tigner retired as comptroller of the Naval Ship Research and Development Center in Annapolis. He then worked for six years in the Income Tax Division of the Maryland State Comptroller's Office. In 1986 he moved to the Eastern Shore.
Born on April 8, 1915, in Dover, Del., he was the son of the late James B. and Millicent B. Thomas Tigner. He graduated in 1934 from Dover High School and in 1949 received a bachelor of commercial science degree from Benjamin Franklin University in Washington, D.C.
During World War II he served on the Army's administrative staff at Port Preble, Maine.
Formerly a resident of Winchester on the Severn, he was a member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park, the North Severn Alumni Club of NSRDC, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Greensboro Lions Club.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel B. Tigner; one son, James A. Tigner Jr. of Fairfield, Pa.; one brother, John Tigner of Dover; and one grandchild. He was the brother of the late J. Millard Tigner.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St., Denton, where friends may call an hour before the service. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows cemetery in Camden, Del.

John Ward
John W. "Sonny" Ward, 71, of Friendship, died July 10, 2001 at St. Agnes Healthcare in Baltimore after suffering several strokes in recent months.
Born Dec. 3, 1929, in Owings, Mr. Ward attended Calvert County public schools and graduated from Calvert High School in Prince Frederick. He served in the Army from 1950 to 1953 as a paratrooper and was discharged as a staff sergeant.
In 1952 he married
Barbara Jean Tucker and lived in the Friendship and Owings area until 1994, raising his two children and running his own concrete and construction business.
After retiring, he traveled throughout the western United States and volunteered for the National Park Service. Most recently he was a researcher and model builder at the former Manzanar War Relocation Center in Lone Pine, Calif.
He was a member of American Legion Stallings-Williams Post 206 in Chesapeake Beach, Centennial Masonic Lodge in Upper Marlboro and Friendship United Methodist Church. He also was a former Boy Scout leader.
Mr. Ward enjoyed meeting people and socializing, model building, the outdoors, golf and traveling to new places.
In addition to his former wife, of Annapolis, he is survived by his daughter, Cynthia J. Bennett of Odenton, one son, Rodney L. Ward Sr. of Friendship; one sister, Eleanor G. "Sis" Ward, and one brother, Calvin L. Ward, both of Owings; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was the brother of the late Kennard and Robert Ward.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Rausch Funeral Home, 8325 Mount Harmony Lane, Owings. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Friendship United Methodist Church, 22 W. Friendsihp Road, with burial in the church cemetery.

Pearl Washington
Pearl Washington, 51, a two-year resident of Wardorf and formerly of Lothian, died July 10, 2001 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata after a brief illness.
Ms. Washington was born Jan. 19. 1949, in Annapolis and was educated in Anne Arundel County public schools.
She enjoyed reading the Bible, listening to music and baby-sitting her nephews and nieces and grandchildren.
Survivors include six sons, David Spriggs of Owings, Kurtis Stepney of Glen Burnie and Kirby, Sherman, Timothy and Deontay Stepney, all of Wardorf; one daughter, Tonya Stepney of Wardorf; three brothers, George and Benjamin Washington, both of Lothian, and Daniel Washington of Tracys Landing; three sisters, Ella Sellman and Alice Washington, both of Annapolis, and Dorothy Rawlings of Shady Side; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Franklin United Methodist Church in Churchton, with a Christian wake at 10 a.m. and funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Union United Methodist Church cemetery in Tracys Landing. Arrangements are by Reese and Sons Mortuary.
