Ronald Cary
Ronald Wayne Cary, 44, a resident of Crownsville and previously of Bowie, died of cancer July 14, 2001 at his home after a 13-month illness.
Mr. Cary was born in Richmond, Va., on March 8, 1957. He graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg with a degree in mathematics and mechanical engineering.
He worked as an engineering supervisor at the Mantech International Corp. and Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Bowie. He enjoyed woodworking, home improvement and Bible study.
Surviving are his wife, Sally Cary; two sons, Craig and Joshua Cary, and his daughter, Eliza Cary, of the home; and his mother, Dorothy N. Cary, his brother, Fred Cary, and his sister, Roberta Fabrizio, all of Richmond.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. tomorrow, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Stockton Memorial Church in Chesterfield, Va. Burial will follow at Dale Memorial Gardens in Richmond. At a future date, a memorial service will be held at Grace Baptist Church in Bowie. Arrangements are by Beall Funeral Home in Bowie.

Jeannette Irons
Jeannette Stehle Irons, 91, a resident of Annapolis for 55 years, died of heart failure July 15, 2001 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a two-year illness.
Mrs. Irons was known as "Granny." She was born July 12, 1909, in Annapolis, attended St. Mary's Elementary School and Annapolis High School, and received her registered nurse certificate from Mercy Hospital in Baltimore in 1932.
After living in Colfax, W. Va., she returned to Annapolis in 1946 to Anne Arundel General Hospital to work as a nurse and supervisor of nursing and then in the pharmacy.
Following retirement at age 65, she enjoyed years of activities with seniors at St. Mary's and other groups. She especially enjoyed camping vacations with her family as well as travels with her senior groups. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, reading and time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are four children, Nancy Cavallo of Arnold, Sister Jane Irons of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, of Baltimore, Joseph Irons of Palatine, Ill., and Richard Irons of Millersville; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be said at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester St., with inurnment in St. Mary's Cemetery. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.

Nancy Myers
Nancy Mae Myers, 63, of Severn, died of natural causes July 14, 2001 at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Myers was born March 16, 1938, in Washington, D.C., the daughter of the late Norman A. and Marie Springman Hanback. She graduated from high school in Prince George's County.
She worked as a clerk for the Maryland State Income Tax Division, the Department of Natural Resources and the state Department of Health and Human Services' Mental Health Division at its Prince George's County location.
Mrs. Myers was a member of the Lost in the "50s Car Club. She enjoyed attending car shows and playing bingo.
Surviving are her husband of 32 years, John E. Myers; four sons, Donald Martin of Seabrook, Raymond Martin Jr. of Bowie, John Myers Jr. of Glen Burnie and Richard Myers of Pasadena; one daughter, Brenda Martin of Crofton; one sister, Norma Turner of Jonesville, S.C.; and 12 grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Henry Carpenter Jr.
Services will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Singleton Funeral Home, 1 Second Ave SW, Glen Burnie. Burial will be in Lakemont cemetery in Davidsonville.

Florence Petrini
Florence Barbara Petrini, 81, an Annapolis resident for 26 years and previously of Hyattsville, died July 15, 2001 at Heritage Harbour Health and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness.
Mrs. Petrini was born on June 8, 1920, in Scranton, Pa., where she graduated from high school. A beautician, she last was the manager of the beauty shop at Montgomery Wards at Annapolis Mall. She retired in 1982.
Known for her strong faith in God, she was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Women's Guild. She also was a member of the Londontown Peppers Senior Group, the Eastport Seniors Club and the Millersville Seniors Club.
She enjoyed cooking, reading, playing cards, playing with her grandchildren and spending time with her family.
Her husband of 27 years, Dominic Petrini, died July 13, 1973.
Surviving are her son, Robert Petrini of Davidsonville; her daughter, Mary Ann Taliaferro of Riva; her brother, Stanley Shell of Syracuse, N.Y.; three sisters, Ann and Gail Sheleski of Scranton and Mary Walejewski of New Jersey; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester St. Burial will follow at Fort Lincoln cemetery in Brentwood.

Julia Stuart
Julia Grant Weiss Stuart, 92, a 15-year resident of Mayo and previously of Chevy Chase and Emporia, Va., died July 9, 2001 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
The daughter of the late Jefferson Parades Weiss and Wilma Lee Livesay, Mrs. Stuart was born in Emporia on Dec. 31, 1908, and attended Virginia Intermount College.
She was the great-great-granddaughter of Jacob Weiss Sr. a colonel in the Revolutionary War and founder of Lehighton and Weissport, Pa.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Kenwood Garden Club, a life member of Congressional Country Club and the Greenville County, Va., Historical Society. She was a patron of the Greenville County Historical Society Museum in Emporia. She also enjoyed reading.
Her husband of 51 years, Charles Mason Stuart Sr., died in 1986.
Surviving are her son, Charles Mason Stuart Jr. of Mayo; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Eastport. Arrangements are by Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater.

Calvin Corder
Calvin "Cowboy" Corder, 66, of Davidsonville, a 38-year member of the Kentland Volunteer Fire Department, died unexpectedly of a heart attack June 30, 2001 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Born April 28, 1935, in Washington, D.C., Mr. Corder resided in Alexandria, Va., before moving to Davidsonville 26 years ago.
He served in the Army, attaining the rank of specialist 3rd class, and earning the Good Conduct Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal for Germany and the National Defense Service Medal.
He was employed with the Yellow Freight Line until his retirement.
Mr. Corder was an active firefighter of the Kentland VFD, and held the office of captain in 1969, fire marshal in 1971 and deputy chief in 1973…During his service, he received many honors, including the Al Steint and Man of the Year awards. He was named an Ambassador of Goodwill, awarded appreciation certificates and received the Chiefs' and Presidents' awards. He recently was nominated for the Hall of Fame for the Prince George County Volunteer Firefighters Association.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mavis R. Corder; one son, Denis L. Corder of Fort Meade; his stepson, Michael Gonnella of Bowie; one daughter, Debra L. Corder of Odenton; one brother, Kenneth Corder of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Carol Caples of Hazelwood, Mo., Delores Cannon of Culpeper, Va., and Bernice Weissburg of McLean, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Evans Funeral Home, 16000 Annapolis Road, Bowie, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will follow in Fort Lincoln Cemetery.
