Virginia "Jennie" Elizabeth Oliver, 81, of Mechanicsville, MD, passed away, surrounded by her loving family on March 14, 2014 at her home. Born on July 21, 1932 in Leonardtown, MD, she was the loving daughter of the late Louis and Helen Lupus Copsey. Jennie was the loving wife of the late Edward Herman "Bumpsie" Oliver, whom she married in Christ Episcopal Church, Chaptico, MD. Jennie is survived by her son, Edward Oliver of Mechanicsville, MD, daughter-in-law, Jackie Lathroum (Ricky), granddaughters; Cassie Howsare, and Krystle Lathroum, and 4 great-grandchildren. Siblings; Robert (Crow) Copsey of Charlotte Hall, MD, Richard Copsey and Thomas (David) Copsey both of Mechanicsville, MD, and Peggy Latham of Chaptico, MD. She is preceded in death by her son, Dennis Oliver, granddaughter, Wanda Michelle Oliver, and brother, Louis "Sonny" Copsey. She was a lifelong resident of St. Mary's County, MD, and graduated from Margaret Brent High School. Jennie operated the J and C Discount stand at the farmer's market in Charlotte Hall, MD. Jennie enjoyed playing pitch, shopping, watching "Dancing with the Stars" and her baseball team "The Nationals" play, and spending time with her family. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in Christ Episcopal Church, Chaptico, MD, with Reverend Barry Harper officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. William Andrew (Andy) Lacey, 69

William Andrew (Andy) Lacey, 69, of Leonardtown, MD, passed away on March 14, 2014.
William worked and retired from State Highway Administration with 30 years of service.
Andy spent his life a hard-working honest man, both a skilled heavy-equipment operator and a farmer. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing and duck hunting. He also enjoy his pets, Brandy and Rusty who meant so much to him, they always brought a smile to his face. He loved to work on engines and fix things for friends and family members as he was so good at it.
Andy is survived by his partner, Mary Cryer for over 34 wonderful years and is also survived by his 2 children, Trudy Wible (Larry) of Lexington Park, MD, and Wendy Fitzgerald and grandchildren, Tyler and Shannon. His surviving siblings are Dorothy Trossbach, Shirley Knott, Ed Lacey, Howard Lacey and Joe Lacey. Andy is preceded in death by his siblings, Margaret Hill, Ann Cheseldine, Theresa Thompson, Louise Mattingly, and John Lacey.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. with prayers recited at 7:00 p.m. at Brinsfield Funeral home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on March 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 23080 Maddox Rd, Bushwood, MD 20618.

Virginia Marie "Ginny" Colvin, 77

Virginia Marie "Ginny" Colvin, 77, of Charleston, WV, died March 12, 2014 at her home in Hollywood, MD.
Born May 12, 1936 in Charleston, WV, she was the daughter of the late George Fleming Weekly and Tacey Marie Fluharty Weekly.
In 1955, Ginny married her beloved husband, John Melvin "Sonny" Colvin. Together they spent 58 wonderful years together. She worked in the cafeteria as a cook at James Ryder Randall elementary school in P.G. County for over 16 years. Before that she babysat for years. Ginny was famous for her fried chicken and devilled eggs. She enjoyed family cookouts and reunions. She loved to play Bingo and back in the day quarter yahtzee and pinocle. She loved to watch sports, the Washington Redskins and NASCAR racing. Her greatest love was for her family, she especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the American Legion Post 259 and the VFW.
In addition to her beloved husband, Ginny is survived by her children, Alan Colvin (Lisa) of Waldorf, MD; Bret Colvin (Cheryl) of Churchton, MD; Cindy Weber (Mark) of Mechanicsville, MD, and Michael Colvin (Suzy) of Mechanicsville, MD; her siblings, Bob Weekley (Judy); Nora Novak; George Weekley (Peggy); and Kay Clarke; her grandchildren, Leigha Colvin, Eric Colvin, Kristin Colvin, Christopher Colvin, Deanna Weber, John Weber, Katy Colvin, Laura Colvin, and Meghan Colvin; and her great-grandchildren, Cayden Colvin and Avorie Brotherton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, John Weekly and Jo Wilt.
Family will receive friends for Ginny's Memorial Service on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 3 to 6 p.m., with a Service of Remembrance at 5 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Interment will be private.

Viola Grace Miller, 86, of Leonardtown, MD, went to be with Jesus on March 12, 2014.
Grace was born December 20, 1927 in Lance, MD; she was the daughter of the late Murray Clifford and Minnie Alice Brown Harbaugh.
Grace is survived by her husband, Frank J. Miller, her daughter, Teresa Weeks (Rick) of Hollywood, MD, a brother, Walter Harbaugh of Cascade, MD, granddaughters, Allyson Marie Bachmann and Haylee Nicole Yeatman and a grandson, Brent Michael Weeks.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Leonardtown Baptist Church, 23520 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Interment at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.

Dorothy Virginia Dean, 88, of Laurel Grove, MD, died April 10, 2013 at Asbury-Solomons Nursing Center.
Born February 13, 1925 in Troutville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Albert Weddle and Belva (Alderman) Weddle.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Judy D. Wood (C.D.) of Hollywood, MD; two grandchildren; Janet Varner, Kristen Springer; five great-grandchildren; Mariah, Brent, Megan, Elizabeth, Ben; siblings Lois Rowland of Olney, MD, and Carl Weddle of Odenton, MD. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin H. Dean; son, Raynor Dean; and siblings, Ottis Roland, Marie Collins and Rosetta Motley.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 27108 Mt. Zion Church Road, Mechanicsville, MD 20659. A funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Ann Strickler at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Joseph Edward Prieskorn, 74

Joseph Edward Prieskorn, Sr., 74, of La Plata, MD, passed away on April 10, 2013 at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home.
Joe was born on July 16, 1938, son of the late Agnes Anna (Ertl) and Milton Charles Prieskorn in Fort Dodge, Iowa, where he was raised.
While in elementary and high school, Joe was active in the Boy Scouts of America which is where he developed his love of nature and the outdoors, passing this passion on to many of his children and grandchildren. His career was devoted to the National Guard in Iowa, Pennsylvania and Missouri, eventually becoming a Master Navigator. He accumulated over 6,000 flying hours in missions to Africa, South America, Italy, Germany and Norway. Early in his career, he was military aid to Gov. Harold Hughes. Shortly before retiring from the National Guard, Joe served as commander for the 133rd Tactical Control Flight in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. Upon retiring from the Guard in 1998, he worked for the Defense Mapping Agency in St. Louis, Missouri, and then as a long-distance trucker for Prime Trucking. Throughout his life, Joe's hobbies included playing soccer, running, roller-skating, biking, hiking portions of the Appalachian Trail, camping, round dancing, and piloting private aircraft. He was called "Smiley Joe" by his friends.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his stepmother, Vivian; sisters, Paula Kaupert and Margaret Humpal; and a brother, Kenneth.
He is survived by his brother, John Prieskorn of San Diego, CA; daughters, Paula (Tom) Batzer of LaPlata, MD; Patty Campbell of Hebron, CT; Pippa (Randy) Fineran of Arthur, IA; Michelle (Steve) Frantz of Oberlin, PA; sons, Joseph Prieskorn, Jr. of LaPlata, MD and Jon Prieskorn (fiancée, Lindsay Johnson) of Mason City, IA; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will take place at a later date. All arrangements are being handled by Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.

June Wilson, 74, of Lusby, MD, formerly of Berkeley Springs, WV, passed away on April 9, 2013 in Calvert Memorial Hospital, Prince Frederick, MD. She was born in Mitcham, England, on July 12, 1938 to the late Bernard Ezard and Betty Tapley Ezard. She was the beloved wife to the late Donald Wilson, who passed away on November 3, 2005. June and Donald were married on December 21, 1963 in MD. She was the first owner and operator of the English Muffin Restaurant, Berkeley Springs, WV, from 1978 to 1983, she spent the rest of her working life in the restaurant business. June enjoyed playing bingo at the American Legion Post 274, Lusby, MD, gardening and watching and taking care of her beloved birds. Her family and friends meant everything to June.
June is survived by her children, Connie and her husband Larry Silver of Lothian, MD, Keith Millison of FL, and Dona Wilson of Lusby, MD; siblings, Anita Jessup and Robert Ezard both of England; four grandchildren Donnie, Jason, Kayce and Sammi and two great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Aaron.
Services and interment will be private. Should friends desire contributions may be made in June's memory to the charity of ones choice.
Elizabeth Holman Reynolds, 87

Elizabeth (Beth) Holman Reynolds, 87, died peacefully in the early hours of April 9, 2013 at the Hospice House of St Mary's in Callaway, Maryland.
Born January 19, 1926 in New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania, to loving parents, Edward Lee Holman and Anna Helen Bower Holman, she graduated from Gettysburg College in 1947. In 1948, she met, fell in love with, and married Major H. K. (Deak) Reynolds, a young Army officer teaching at the War College in Carlisle, PA. Over the next twenty years as a military wife, she was a thoughtful, graceful, and selfless representative of America's armed forces around the world.
The family settled in St. Mary's City, Maryland, in 1971. Almost immediately, Beth became one of those to call if there was anything to be done for others in the county, from working with the less fortunate to volunteering at Green Holly School with special needs children. She painted, had a love of poetry and literature, and a great appreciation for the natural world and gardening.
For over forty years, Beth played an integral role in the St. Mary's County Garden Club, and a lifelong passion for the arts led her to become a founding member of the St. Mary's Arts Alliance steering committee, where she served tirelessly until her death.
Beth was on the Board of Trustees of Carson Long Military Academy from 1978 to 2013 and was Chairperson of the Board from 1982 to 2007. Carson Long was founded by her great-uncle Theodore K. Long in 1914, and both her father and brother served as presidents.
She is survived by her brother, Colonel Carson E. R. Holman in New Bloomfield, PA, and four of her five children: Katherine Holman Chandler in St. Mary's City, MD, Susan Elizabeth Reynolds in Chapel Hill, NC, Edward Kim Reynolds in Dameron, MD, and John Eric Reynolds in Nashville, TN. She was preceded in death by her brother, MSG Clark Lee Holman, her sister, Ida Helen Holman Partridge, her husband, Harold Kenneth Reynolds, and her beloved, youngest son, Richard Kennedy Reynolds.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Beth Reynolds' name to the Hospice House of St. Mary's, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650, with grateful thanks from her children for the loving care their mother received in the last days of her life.
Friends are invited to the Reynolds' home immediately after the memorial service for refreshments and fellowship at 18599 Pleasant Manor Road, St. Mary's City.
