Virginia Mary Perkins, 84, the daughter of William Billy Lawrence and Ada Mills was born October 2, 1929 in Dameron, Maryland; she departed this life on June 21, 2014. Virginia Mary attended Little Flower Catholic School in Callaway, MD then moved to Baltimore, MD., where she met her first husband Ennels Lawrence (now Deceased) they had 2 Sons Ronnie and Jr., she then moved to Washington, DC where she met second husband Daniel Perkins (now deceased). They had 7 daughters and 2 Sons Mary (Sugar Pie) Odessa (Sista), Juanita, Jackie, Doretha, Katana, Connie, Donnell, and Venari (Bubbie). Virginia Mary Perkins was a housewife and a nurturing mother; those how had an opportunity to know her will remember her as a warm, loving, and generous women. She was a strong-willed woman who made time for others; she was cherished and loved by her family and friends Virginia Mary's pastime was spent at one point and time ushering at Mt. Zion Methodist Church, watching the stories, playing cards, going to the slots (she was lucky too) and spending time with her family. Virginia Mary Leaves to cherish in her loving memory her daughters; Mary, Odessa, Katana, Connie, Juanita, Jackie, and sons Donnell and Bubbie, her only sister, Edith Lawrence, grandchildren, Tisha, Lakisha, Joann, Gregory, Joseph, CJ, Calvin, Emmanuel, Devin, Mark, and Andre, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ivory L. Teague officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Face Catholic Cemetery, Great Mills, MD.

David Christopher "Chris" Bradburn, 44

David Christopher "Chris" Bradburn, 44, of Leonardtown, MD, formerly from Hyattsville, MD, passed away on June 21, 2014 in Liberty, NC. Born on September 29, 1969 in Silver Spring, MD, he was the loving son of Joseph Louis Knott, Jr., and Nancy Ellen Knott of Leonardtown, MD. Chris was the loving husband of Jill Cathleen Bradburn whom he married in Leonardtown, MD, on November 17, 2001. Chris is survived by his daughters, Caitlyn Bradburn and Jenna Bradburn both of Leonardtown, MD, several nieces and nephews. Sister: Tina Bradburn Yakel (Dan) of Leonardtown, MD, and Godmother Joan Joy of PA. He is preceded in death by his brother John "Chip" Bradburn. Chris graduated from Leonardtown High School in 1987, and worked as a plumber /Steamfitter for Suburban Plumbing and Heating for 25 years. As a child, he grew up in St. Mary's County, MD. Chris enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, camping, vacationing in Ocean City, MD, and he was a big Redskins fan, he loved being busy doing projects around the house. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Bill Nickerson officiating. Interment will be private.

Steven Frances Guy, 81

Steven Frances Guy, 81, of Hughesville, MD, passed away on June 19, 2014 at Charles Regional Medical Center in LaPlata, MD.
He was born on December 24, 1932 in LaPlata, MD, to the late Frank Guy and the late Louise Cooksey Guy.
Steven graduated from LaPlata H.S. in 1950 and later, became a foreman with Taylor Electric. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, growing tobacco, raising cattle, fishing, and hunting.
He is predeceased by his wife, Joanne Thompson Guy.
Steven is survived by his sons, Dennis Guy (Pam), Douglas W. Guy, and Steven Guy, Jr.; three grandchildren, Douglas W. Guy, Jr., Dustin F. Guy, and Sarah E. Guy; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Gould and Riley Jo Gould.
Family and friends will be received to celebrate Steven's life on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Old Fields Cemetery in Hughesville, MD.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to: Hospice of Charles County, 2505 Davis Road, Waldorf, MD 20603.

Robert William Sewell, Sr., 85
St. Inigoes, MD
Born: 02/09/1929, Passed On: 06/18/2014

Robert William Sewell, Sr., 85 of St. Inigoes, MD, passed peacefully from this life on June 18, 2014, after a short illness. Robert was born on February 9, 1929 in St. Inigoes, MD, to the late Andrew Sewell and Irene Sewell Greene. He married the love of his life, Geraldine Brown, on December 24, 1950. From this union, they had nine children.
He was a faithful and active member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. He was a trustee and a member of the usher board of his church.
Robert served his country admirably. He joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on February 2, 1951 and on November 27, 1952, he transferred to the Army Reserve and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army on December 14, 1956.
Robert worked for the state highway for some time and later went to work at the Patuxent River Naval Base in the aircraft intermediate maintenance department. He retired from this position after working there for twenty-four years.
One of his favorite hobbies was to go out on his boat to oyster, crab and fish or just cruise around the water looking at the beautiful scenery. Often you would see Robert just sitting in his truck passing the time away. He was also an animal lover; especially dogs and cats.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Sewell and Irene Greene; stepfather, Wallace Greene; one sister, Helena Taylor; three sons, Ronald, Robert and Marvin Sewell and daughter, Valerie.
Robert leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of sixty-four years, Geraldine Sewell; two brothers, Calvert Lee Sewell and Wilbert Greene; six children, Donald Sewell, of Baltimore, MD, Gregory Sewell, of Kentucky, Gerald Sewell, of Kansas City, Missouri, Curtis Sewell, of Baltimore, MD, Rosalind Sewell Lundy, of New York, Delores Jones, of New Jersey, twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Robert is loved and will be greatly missed.
Family will unite with relatives and friends on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 for visitation at 10 am until service at 11 am at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 27108 Mt. Zion Church Rd., St. Inigoes, MD. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Reverend Derrick Walton will be officiating.

Ralph Wendell Hutchins, 93
Prince Frederick, Maryland

Ralph Wendell Hutchins, 93, of Prince Frederick, Maryland, passed away on June 16, 2014 in Dowell, Maryland. He was born on October 9, 1920 in Prince Frederick, Maryland, to the late Henry H. and Annie Skinner Hutchins. Beside his parents, Ralph is predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Naomi Carroll Hutchins, four brothers and five sisters.
Ralph was a farmer all of his life, even though he worked off the family farm during business hours. He worked for the Postal Department from 1949 thru 1979, and then went to work for the Calvert County Government as a bailiff from 1989 thru 2004. He was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and active in various church activities. He was an avid baseball fan especially the Baltimore Orioles. Ralph published a book "My Life on the Farm and Beyond" which left many wonderful memories for his family. He was a devoted family man who will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by daughters, Carol Ann Scrivener (Bob), of Prince Frederick, MD, Joyce Jett (Ronnie) of St. Leonard, MD, sons Marvin Hutchins, (Lori) of Prince Frederick, and Dwayne Hutchins (Jan) of Prince Frederick. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday June 19, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Trinity UMC, Prince Frederick, MD where services will be held on Friday June 20, 2014 at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Central Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity UMC or Calvert Hospice. Arrangements by Rausch Funeral Home, Port Republic, MD.

David Lee Price, 62

David Lee Price was born on April 7, 1952 in New Market, Maryland, to the late John Ignatius Price "Tim" and Dorothy Lucille Price "Cecil" and brother, James Aloyious Price.
David "Dave", as he was affectionately called, lived a wonderful and blessed life and was surrounded by his loving family, when he was suddenly called home to glory on June 14, 2014 while preparing for work. David "Dave" was educated through St. Mary's Public Schools Systems where he graduated high school. David served in the United States Army for a short time after graduation and went on to complete 1 year of college. While serving his country David married then wife Doris Dorsey and fathered 2 daughters. After his divorce, he went on to father 4 more children that he adored.
David cherished the simple life, after retiring. He retired from the University of Maryland Biological Laboratory completing over 30 years of service. He worked part-time at the Naval Air Station in Patuxent River, MD, as a Fuel Engineer. He was a devoted and faithful employee to his job, showing up an hour early, just to shoot the breeze with co-workers.
David was a deeply devoted father who enjoyed spending time with all his children, and cherished his daily visits with Aunt Sarah. He lived to give his brothers and sister's advice, as he was the oldest (often calling to say, "Hey this is your big brother"). David enjoyed spending time with his friends, plays, movies, working on cars, good food, a cold beer and a good laugh (smile). David was a cherished pillar of the community and loved by all.
Left to cherish his memories are six children Dana Poindexter (Michael), Dinah Nutt, Javin Price, Davielle Price, David Price II, and Daveon Price, 6 grandchildren and siblings John Price, "Iggie" (Doris), Charles Price "Blue" (Carolyn), William Price "Joe", Janet Price, Joyce Price, Florence Price.
Family will receive friends for Dave's Life Celebration on Saturday, June 21, 2014 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 22800 Washington Street, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend David Beaubien at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.

Faith Janee Lee, 11 of Chaptico, MD, departed this life and entered into eternal rest on June 13, 2014.

Betty Lee Largent, 71

Betty Lee Largent, 71 of Mechanicsville, MD, formerly of Charlotte Hall, MD, passed away on June 12, 2014 at her residence.Born December 25, 1942 in Charlotte Hall, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ada Gray Williams and Roger Williams. Betty was the loving wife of the late Ronel Largent whom she married in Leonardtown, MD, on August 27, 1965 and preceded her in death on September 17, 1985.
She is survived by her son Jaycee (Debbie) Largent of Mechanicsville, MD, three grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons; Billy Williams and Ronald Largent. Her siblings are, Constance, Douglas, Dickie, Bernice, Sue, James, Jr., Gene, Agnes, Buckey, Sis, Buster, Anna Mae, Hilda, Steve, Linda, Leonard, Ann and Sonny.
Betty was a lifelong resident of St. Mary's County, she was a homemaker, she enjoyed playing Keno, going to bingo, word search puzzles and spending time with her family.The family will receive friends on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, with a Funeral Service held at 11:00AM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Ammon Ripple officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be; Gary Williams, Todd Nebel, Dennis Behan, Robert Kelly, Thomas Purdy and Timothy Sater.
