W.W. "Bill" Davis, 66, of 339 Daycotah Avenue, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore.
Born Dec. 14, 1930, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Roy E. and Zola Frances Bitner Davis.
He was a retired employee of Grove Manufacturing Worldwide in Shady Grove, Pa., and a former employee of Railway Express and Consolidated Freight Ways.
He attended Evangel Assembly of God Church, Hagerstown.
He is survived by his wife JoAnn Davis; one daughter Cheryl Lynn Cordell of Clear Spring; one son, Alan J. Davis of Hagerstown; three sisters, Freda Nunamaker and June Andrews, both of Hagerstown, and Mary Jane Malott of Williamsport; five brothers, Carl Davis of Dawsonville, Ga., Leonard Davis, Roger Davis and Roy Davis Jr., all of Hagerstown, and Daniel Davis of Williamsport; and two granddaughters.
Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Donald W. Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Annie M.C. Snyder
Annie Martha Cave Snyder, 85, of 17944 Garden Lane, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 23, 1911, in Green Village, Pa., near St. Thomas, she was the daughter of the late William Willis and Susan Jones Willis Lynn.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry J. Cave, in February 1985; and by her second husband, Harry Leroy Snyder, in January 1995.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.
She was a past member of Williamsport Homemakers Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Helen Cave Hamburg and Betty Cave Wynkoop, both of Hagerstown; one brother, John Willis of Chester, Pa.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Paul J. Willis; and two sisters, Helen W. Gray and Elizabeth W. Reynolds.
Services will be Friday, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. George W. Ennis and the Rev. Darryl Zoller will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Friday service.

Julia M. Sharer
THURMONT, Md. - Julia Margaret Sharer, 90, of 116 Radio Lane, Thurmont, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, at Citizens Nursing Home in Frederick, Md.
Born Jan. 4, 1907, in Thurmont, she was the daughter of the late Charles Francis and Eva Catherine Willhide Sharer.
She was employed for several years as a seamstress at Claire Frock Co.
She was a life member of Edwin C. Creeger American Legion Auxiliary in Thurmont.
She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth J. Issacs of Thurmont; one son, Harold R. Williard, also of Thurmont; two sisters, Anna C. Bentzel of Thurmont and Glenna G. Boyer of Gettysburg, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Novtavage; and three brothers, Harry L. Sharer Sr., Charles N. Sharer and Ralph E. Sharer.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont. The Rev. Douglas Griffin will officiate. Burial will be in Weller United Methodist Church Cemetery in Thurmont.

Donald E. Stitely
SCOTLAND, Pa. - Donald E. Stitely, 60, of 4162 Main St., Scotland, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Sept. 25, 1936, in New Franklin, Pa., he was the son of the late Lloyd E. and Evelyn Hurd Stitely.
He retired from E.F. Goetz Construction Co. in Chambersburg. He formerly was employed by Valley Transit Co. in Chambersburg.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Polk Stitely; five daughters, Karen Sue Edwards, Virginia Miley, and Dixie Lee Buhrman, all of Chambersburg, Evelyn Louise Shultz of Fayetteville, Pa., and Lisa Williams of St. Thomas, Pa.; one son, Edgar Ray Polk of Shippensburg, Pa.; three sisters, Louise Overcash of New Franklin, Pa., Elsie Stitely of Chambersburg, and Laura Lane of Quincy, Pa.; one brother, Michael Childs of Fayetteville; one half-sister, Anna Young; stepmother, Elsie Stitely of Fayetteville; one stepsister Barbara Thomas of Chambersburg; two stepbrothers, Melvin Gilbert of New Franklin, Pa., and William Gilbert of Fayetteville; 15 granchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three nephews who were raised in the family home, Darrell Overcash, Chambersburg, Brian Overcash, York, Pa., and Terry Overcash of Florida.

Grace E.K. Myers
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Grace Elizabeth Keller Myers, 76, of 13690 Worleytown Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 17, 1920, in Montgomery Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Lester M. and Wanda M. Leedy Keller.
She was employed as a seamstress by Asba Manufacturing Co. in Greencastle for more than 30 years, retiring in 1974.
She was a member of Macedonia United Brethren Church, Greencastle.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel J. Myers, whom she married on March 19, 1938; one daughter, Connie L. Fisher of Greencastle; one son, Tex R. Myers of Greencastle; one sister, Naomi "Buss" Fisher of Greencastle; one brother, Lester Keller Jr. of Hagerstown; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Macedonia United Brethren Church, Worleytown Road, Greencastle. The Rev. Gayle L. Ruble will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Russell M. Howard
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Russell M. "Russ" Howard, 20, of 6 S. Church St., Apt. 3, Waynesboro, died of natural causes Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997, at his home.
Born April 29, 1976, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of David R. and Joyce E. Shaffer Groft of Waynesboro.
He attended school in the Waynesboro Area School District.
He was first employed as a baker at Little Caesar's Pizza in Waynesboro, and then worked in maintenance at Benju Corp. in Waynesboro. He had been employed most recently as a clerk at Thomas Somerville Co. in Chambersburg.
He was a member of South Mountain Bible Church.
In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by one brother, Timothy D. Groft, of Waynesboro; his maternal grandmother, Fay A. Shaffer of Waynesboro; his maternal great-grandmother Mary E. Smith of Waynesboro; and an uncle, Sam C. Shaffer of Waynesboro, with whom he lived.
Services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. David L. Keener will officiate. Burial will be in Flohr's Church Cemetery in Cashtown, Pa.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Bernadean C. Gonder Toms, 85, of 206-A Elder Ave., Waynesboro, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997, at Quincy United Methodist Home, Quincy, Pa.
Born July 11, 1911, in Blue Mountain House, Pen Mar, Md., she was the daughter of the late Archer G. and Anna Grace Ott Gonder.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Rudward Toms, on March 16, 1954.
She was employed at Buena Vista, Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., worked at Musselman's as a peeler and later worked at South Mountain Restoration Center in the dietary department.
She was a memer of the Church of God in Jerusalem, Md.
She was a member of Zullinger's Homemakers Club in Zullinger, Pa.
She is survived by three daughters, Dolores G. Little of Zullinger, Darlene K. Mohn of Waynesboro and Charlene "Sue" Fuss of Harrodsburg, Ky.; five sons, Robert L. Toms of Fair Oaks, Calif., Marvin L. Toms of Fort Loudon, Pa., Johnny E. Toms of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Ronald T. Toms and Archie G. Toms, both of Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters, Rita Smith, a resident of Williamsport Nursing Home in Wiliamsport, and Ruby DeBach of Chambersburg; 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Charles E. Toms; one sister, Naomi Gonder; and five brothers, Percy Gonder, James Gonder, Charles Gonder, Archie Gonder and Fred Gonder.
Services will be Saturday, at 1:30 p.m. in Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Pastor Neville H. West will officiate. Burial will be in Harbaugh Church Cemetery near Rouzerville, Pa.

MARTINSBURG, W. Va. - Patsy Lou Hoffmaster Keener, 58, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Sept. 8, 1938, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Anna Mae Harris.
She retired from Corning Glass Works in Martinsburg.
She was a member of Petra Worship Center in Martinsburg.
She was a member of Women's Auxiliary of Moose Lodge 120 in Martinsburg.
She is survived by her husband, Woodrow H. Keener, whom she married in 1985; two daughters, Trula F. Beals of Martinsburg and Sandy Leonard of Hedgesville; five sons, Stewart C. Hoffmaster of Kearneysville, W.Va., Olin Hoffmaster and Stewart W. Hoffmaster, both of Berkeley County, and Roy L. Hoffmaster and Joseph Hoffmaster, both of Inwood, W.Va.; one stepson, Roger L. Keener of Tampa, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Roxie L. Richardson of York, Pa., and Peggy A. Richardson of Staunton, Va.; two sisters, JoAnn Siviero of Martinsburg and Lois Bussler of Pittsburgh; one brother, Fred C. Harris; 17 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Harris.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel. Pastor Earl Hairston will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
