WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Bernadean C. Gonder Toms, 85, of 206-A Elder Ave., who died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 1997, at Quincy United Methodist Home, is survived by a sister, Reita DeBach of Fahrney-Keedy Home, Boonsboro.
Yvonne M. M. Mann
QUINCY, Pa. - Yvonne Myrtle Marain Mann, 99, of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 151 W. King St., Waynesboro, Pa., died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, at the home.
Born July 23, 1897, in Rochester, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Emil and Emilie L. Carmein Marain.
She lived for a short time in France.
After returning to the United States, she lived in Syracuse, N.Y., and Buffalo, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Mann, in April 1960.
They were married in 1925.
She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed working with her Waynesboro clients.
She also enjoyed entertaining in her home, in connection with her husband's activities as a well-known artist.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lilly Marain.
Memorial services will be announced later.
Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium, Waynesboro.
Della P. Goetz
Della Pauline Goetz, 83, of 55 E. Washington St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 14, 1913, in Greencastle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late James A. and Della Metz Glass.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William C. Bricker, on April 1, 1956; and her second husband, William P. Goetz, on Feb. 4, 1982.
She had been employed by the former Shirtcraft Co., Shippensburg, Pa.; Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pa.; and retired from Wilson College, Chambersburg.
She was a member of the former Women of the Moose, Hagerstown.
She had volunteered at several nursing homes throughout the Hagerstown area.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna L. Rosenberry of Chambersburg; one sister, Isabelle Daley of ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Doris Jean Dentier, on Sept. 15, 1995; one son, Larry W. Bricker on Feb. 25, 1959; two sisters; and one brother.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg.
The Rev. Mark A. Hagy will officiate.
Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.
Viewing will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Eva C. Pace
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Eva Capriotti Pace, 88, of 124 W. Congress St., and formerly of Hershey, Pa., and Rome, Italy, died Friday, Jan. 24, 1997, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born Feb. 9, 1908, in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Santo and Elizabeth Angelucci Capriotti.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ottavio Pace in 1981.
She attended St. Peter's Catholic Church, Harpers Ferry, W.Va.
She is survived by two nieces, Cesarina C. Wysong, with whom she resided, and Linda Capriotti of Charles Town; and two nephews, Adam Capriotti of Gaithersburg, Md., and Gene Capriotti of Harpers Ferry.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Parmina Capriotti; and two brothers, Adam Capriotti and Elmelindo Capriotti.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, Harpers Ferry.
The Rev. Bert Valdes will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Harpers Ferry.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Helen L. Holmes
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Helen L. Holmes, 87, of Falling Waters, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born July 23, 1909, in Braddock, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Nellie O'Friel Preisach.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leo T. Horn, and her second husband, Hartley Holmes.
She retired as the secretary of First Christian Scientist Church, Detroit.
She was a member of First Christian Scientist Church.
She attended the Christian Scientist Society, Shepherdstown.
She is survived by one daughter, Joan M. Seay of Falling Waters; one brother, Edward Preisach of Redford, Mich.; five grandchildren, Jenny Hatch, Thomas Hawkins, Steven Hawkins, Sally Santilli and Jesse Seay; and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 11:15 a.m. at the Entler Hotel, Shepherdstown.
Burial will be private.
Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Milton A. Rouss
BERRYVILLE, Va. - Milton Alexander Rouss, 81, of Rose Hill Nursing Home, Berryville, and formerly of Kabletown, W.Va., died Friday, Jan. 24, 1997, at the nursing home.
Born Nov. 15, 1915, in Remington, Va., he was the son of the late Franklin Hoke and Katie Vincent Rouss.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie White Rouss on Jan. 9, 1990.
He graduated from Charles Town High School.
He was employed as a distributor by The Washington Post in Virginia and West Virginia until his retirement.
He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II.
He attended Kabletown United Methodist Church, Kabletown.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda M. Oden of Barnwell, S.C., and Joan L. Hough of Leetown, W.Va.; one son, Larry M. Rouss of Berryville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Howell; and two brothers, Frank Rouss and George Rouss.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home.
The Rev. Bert Valdes will officiate.
Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town, W.Va.
Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jesse E. Messner
Jesse Edward Messner, 78, of 11 W. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Dec. 22, 1918, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late George and Mary Ellen Cave Messner.
He was a retired employee of the Hagerstown Shoe Co.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served during World War II with the Seventh Infantry Division.
He also served during the Korean War with the 32nd Infantry Regiment.
He was a member of the Open Door Church, Chambersburg, Pa.
He also was a member of W.D. Byron Post 1936 VFW; a charter member of Dixon Troxell Post 211 Funkstown American Legion; AMVETS Post 10; a life member of the Persian Gulf Command World War II; and served as security in the honor guard for President Franklin D. Roosevelt at the Teheran Conference in Iran.
He served as a scorer and statistician for the American Little League for several years; was business manager for the VFW Baseball Team; and co-organizer of the Dixon Hammer Club; and the West End Old Timers.
He is survived by a brother, Norman "Bud" Messner of Amberson, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Nellie Socks, Freda Grimes, Gertrude Jones and Mildred Feigley; and two brothers, George A. Messner and Paul W. Messner.
Services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown.
The Rev. George W. Ennis will officiate.
Burial, with military graveside honors by Morris Frock Post 42, American Legion, will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - Terry C. White, 45, of Kearneysville, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1997, in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born July 6, 1951, in Martinsburg, he was the son of Betty LaRue White of Martinsburg, and the late Edward C. White.
He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Annette Knighten White; two daughters, Melanie A. White of Martinsburg and Stephanie F. White of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; three sons, Terry C. White Jr. of Martinsburg, Craig W. White of Bunker Hill and T.C.W. White, at home; three sisters, Hope E. Roberts, Michele E. White and Amy L. Dawson, all of Martinsburg; two brothers, Edward L. White of Inwood, W.Va., and Donald C. White of Martinsburg; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
The Rev. Al Clipp will officiate.
Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.
