Gary F. Hutzell Sr.
Gary Francis Hutzell Sr., 55, of 114 E. Antietam Street, Hagerstown, died Friday, Jan. 24, 1997, at his home.
Born March 26, 1941, in Brunswick, Md., he was the son of the late Roscoe Alvey and Esther Marie Gosnell Hutzell Sr.
He was employed by the City of Hagerstown until his retirement.
He was previously employed for many years as an auto mechanic by Maguires Shell/Mobile.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid NASCAR enthusiast.
He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, with 15 years sobriety.
He is survived by his former wife, Leannah Hutzell of Falling Waters, W.Va.; three daughters, Tina M. Hutzell, Patricia A. Pereschuk and Shannon M. Stratton, all of Hagerstown; one son, Gary F. Hutzell Jr. at home; two sisters, Gloria J. Barklow and Betty E. Geyer, both of Hagerstown; three brothers, Gene R. Hutzell Sr. and Charles W. Hutzell, both of Pinesburg, Md., and Terry D. Hutzell of Sharpsburg; two granddaughters and three grandsons.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Alva "Bob" Hutzell, Roscoe "Mick" Hutzell and Glenn "Pork" Hutzell.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
The Rev. Betty D. Jones will officiate.
Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Hazel R. Rose
BERRYVILLE, Va. - Hazel Ruth Rose, 82, of Berryville, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at Rose Hill Nursing Home, Berryville.
Born Aug. 10, 1914, in Taswell County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Margarete Lowe Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Edward Rose in 1980.
She was employed by Louden County Hospital.
She was a member of the Mission Assembly of God Church, Charles Town, W.Va
She is survived by five daughters, Margaret Echols, Pauline Pope, both of Winchester, Va., Nancy Carol Reece of Culpeper, Va., Ruth Spinks of Leesburg, Va. and Deborah Davidson of Illinois; five sons, Eugene Rose of Texas, Beverly Rose of Richmond, Va., Darrell Rose of Bakerton, W.Va., David Rose of Warrenton, Va., and Douglas Rose of Martinsburg, W.Va.; 48 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Roger Rose, Don Rose and James Rose; one sister, Sallie Jackson and four brothers, Melvin Jackson, Will Jackson, Brad Jackson, and Ernest Jackson.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel, Martinsburg.
The Rev. Lee R. Strickler will officiate.
Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.

Nancy A. Myers
SANDY HOOK - Nancy Ann Myers, 58, of Sandy Hook, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at her home.
Born Feb. 11, 1938, in Harpers Ferry, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Harold Eugene Myers and Myrtle Isadora Jones Myers Biller.
She was employed in the housekeeping department of Frederick Memorial Hospital until her retirement.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1136 and Women of the Moose Chapter 660, both of Brunswick, Md.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Greenfield of Brunswick and Robin Rezash of Richmond, Va.; one son, Elmer Wayne Myers of Brunswick; three sisters, Jean Cole of Berryville, Va., Shirley Virts of Brunswick and Judy Bramhall of Lovettsville, Va.; four brothers, Larry Myers, Ronald Myers, Eddie Myers, all of Brunswick and Terry Myers of Woodbridge, Va.; three grandchildren; 17 nieces; 10 nephews; and a special friend, John Ashbaugh of Sandy Hook.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Jones, Derl Myers and Donald Myers and a special friend, Elmer Baker.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, Harpers Ferry.
The Rev. Cedric A. Sullivan will officiate.
Burial will be in Samples Manor Cemetery, Samples Manor, Md.

Donald M. Barnett
ST. THOMAS, Pa. - Donald M. Barnett, 61, of 7204 Village Lane, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at his home.
Born Feb. 23, 1935, in Somerset, Pa., he was the son of the late J. Merle and Marian F. Eicher Barnett.
He was former owner and operator of Barnett's Body Shop in Chambersburg, and taught auto body at Franklin County Vo-Tech for 17 years prior to his retirement.
He was part owner of Quality Marble in Greenvillage until September 1996.
He was a member of Marion United Methodist Church, where he was lay leader, lay speaker, choir director and Sunday school teacher.
He also was a member of Gospel Tide Choir for 22 years; and Christian Business Mens Committee, where he was chairman for many years.
He was a member of Gold Wing Road Riders Association, of which he was associate area representative and area representative; and site coordinator and teacher for the Motorcycle Safety Program for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Koontz Barnett, whom he married in May 1955; three daughters, Donna Heckman and Wanda Kershner, both of St. Thomas, Pa., and Beverly Strait of Chambersburg, Pa.; two sisters, Suzanne Dunmyer of Stoystown, Pa., and Janet Thomas of Knoxville; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by one grandson.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Marion United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Guy Camp and the Rev. John Ile Jr. will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 6492 Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church one hour prior to the service.

William J. Devlin Jr.
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - William J. Devlin Jr., 76, of Cleveland Avenue, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Aug. 26, 1920, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William J. and Armista Woolard Devlin Sr.
He was employed as a plumber.
He was a combat veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in the European Theater and in North Africa.
He was of the Catholic faith.
He was a member of American Legion and VFW, both in Waynesboro.
He played basketball for the Elks Club team in Waynesboro, and the Waynesboro Tigers football team.
He is survived by five daughters, Margaret A. Barnhart, Mary E. Devlin, Catherine M. Cross, Teresa C. Diller and Regina M. Yoder; one stepdaughter, Norma J. Warner; three sons, William J. Devlin III, John P. Devlin and Michael W. Devlin; one half-sister, Mary C. Gothe; 24 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Burns Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.
The Rev. Tom Hemler will officiate.

Rhoda V. Kline
Rhoda V. Kline, 81, formerly of 314 Liberty St., Hagerstown, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 19, 1915, in Clear Spring, she was the daughter of the late Jerry J. and Emma Bloyer Reed.
She was a retired employee of Musselman Co.
She is survived by three daughters, Leona M. Gardner, Iris V. Stone and Mildred E. Kline, all of Hagerstown; three sons, Charles L. Kline, Homer E. Kline and Michael R. Kline, all of Hagerstown; two brothers, John J. Reed of Big Springs and Bruce F. Reed of Hampton, Va.; 20 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Helen Diffendiffer; and one son, Harry "Jiggs" Kline.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.
The Rev. Robert Timmons will officiate.
Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

Annamae R.E. Bricker
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Annamae R. Elmes Bricker, 71, a resident of Franklin County Nursing Home, and formerly of Waynesboro, Pa., and State Line, Pa., died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Sept. 22, 1925, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Harry P. and Dorothy M. Smith Elmes.
Her husband, Frank W. Bricker Sr., died in 1990. They were married Feb. 27, 1943.
She was employed by Corning Glass in Greencastle, Pa., on the assembly line for 12 years.
Before that she worked at Waynesboro Shoe Factory for many years as a floor girl.
She attended Calvary Assembly of God Church in Waynesboro.
She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy M. Kuhn of Greencastle; one son, Dennis L. Bricker of Greencastle; two sisters, Carolyn D. Misner of Tomstown, Pa., and Velma L. Halsey of Hamptonville, N.C.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a son, Frank W. Bricker Jr., and two brothers, Harry P. Elmes and Thomas Elmes.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
The Rev. Dwan N. Newsome and the Rev. Walter A. Stuart will officiate.
Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.

Frederick J. Munden
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Frederick "Frank" John Munden, 76, of Charles Town, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at his home.
Born June 30, 1920, in Toronto, he was the son of Dora O'Brien Munden Doumani of Windsor-Ontario, Canada, and the late William Munden.
He retired after many years as a jockey, riding at race tracks in Maryland, the Midwest, and New England.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a member of the Jockey's Guild.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Carol Teti of Hallandale, Fla.; three sons, Mark F. Munden of Charles Town, Billy Munden of Toronto, and Fred Munden of Lake Tahoe, Nev.; three sisters, Elizabeth Peltier of Windsor-Ontario, Mary McLeay of Sarnia, Canada, and Alexandria Stolte of Vancouver, Canada; three brothers, William J. Doumani of Thunderbay, Canada, Joseph Doumani of Windsor-Ontario, and Richard Doumani of New York; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town.
The Rev. C.D. Coley will officiate.
Burial will be private.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
