Wayne J. Hoover
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Wayne J. Hoover, 63, of 1113 Sollenberger Road, died Friday, Jan. 24, 1997, at ManorCare Health Services in Chambersburg.
Born Nov. 11, 1933, in Chambersburg, he was the son of Annamary Rickrode Hoover of Chambersburg and the late Wayne L. Hoover.
He was a 1951 graduate of Chambersburg High School.
He was employed with Chambersburg Engineering Co. in Chambersburg, for 4312 years.
He served with the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Dolores S. Shindledecker Hoover, whom he married June 28, 1958; three sons, Gary E. Hoover of Bowie, Md., Anthony W. Hoover of Burbank, Calif., and Christopher A. Hoover at home; one sister, Joanne Fegan of Chambersburg; and one brother, Ronald Hoover of Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, with the Rev. Daniel F. Lawler as celebrant. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg.
A viewing will be held at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., where a Christian Wake Service will begin at 8 p.m.
Helen L.B. Holder
ROHRERSVILLE - Helen Lola Beatrice Holder, 88, of 4400 Main St., died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 24, 1908, in Rohrersville, she was the daughter of the late Ira M. Keedy and Lola S. Haynes Keedy Rice.
She retired from Eyerly's Department Store in Hagerstown.
She was a member of Central United Brethren in Christ Church in Rohrersville, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the choir, adult Sunday school class, Willing Workers, and Women's Missionary Association.
She also was a member of Rohrersville Homemaker's Club and the Rhythmettes.
She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Holder, whom she married Jan. 20, 1926; one daughter, Phyllis Geraldine Keller Jr. of Middletown, Md.; one son, Charles R. Holder of Rohrersville; two sisters, Miriam Dinsmore of Rohrersville and Anna Mae Grimm of Boonsboro; four brothers, David D. Keedy and Robert C. Keedy, both of Hagerstown, John A. Keedy of Rohrersville, and James L. Keedy of Millville, N.J.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Edward Holder Sr.; and one grandson.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Victor Moon and the Rev. Brian H. Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery at Rohrersville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Roy W. Corbin
KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - Roy Wright Corbin, 71, of Dark Lane, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 1997, at his home.
Born Dec. 25, 1925, in Keyser, W.Va., he was the son of the late Jack and Cora Sears Corbin.
He was employed with CSX Railroad Co. for 36 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. He received the Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, Bronze Star, and World War II Victory Ribbon.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jean M. Hott Corbin; two daughters, Bonnie J. Haller of Brunswick, Md., and Donna M. Potter of Kearneysville; one sister, Pauline Holloway of Tallmadge, Ohio; one brother, Howard Corbin of Almont, Mich.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Wanda Liller.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town, W.Va. The Rev. Wyman Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
Friends will be received at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Geneva G. Baker
CARLISLE, Pa. - Geneva "Bebe" Gans Baker, 96, of Cumberland Crossings Retirement Community, and formerly of Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, and South Second Street, Chambersburg, Pa., died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at Cumberland Crossings.
Born June 10, 1900, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Mary Smith Gans.
Her husband, Roy E. Baker, preceded her in death.
She is survived by one niece, Sandy W. Ilgenfritz of Carlisle; and one great-nephew.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Chambersburg. The Rev. Neal Hively will officiate.
There will be no viewing.

Alice H. Geary
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Alice H. Geary, 77, of Shepherdstown, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 1997, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 21, 1919, in Hanover Court, Va., she was the daughter of the late George Washington and Ellen Esther Sales Harris.
She retired from Equifax Credit Bureau in Silver Spring, Md.
She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Shepherdstown.
She is survived by her husband, John T. Geary; three sisters, Patricia Worley of Prince Frederick, Md., Barbara Stillions of Marietta, Ga., and Betty Ann Boreum of West River, Md.; and one brother, Henry Martin Nau of Germantown, Md.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, with the Rev. Matthew T. Rough as celebrant.
The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Mildred M. Husk
Mildred M. Husk, 78, of Little Antietam Road, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 6, 1918, in Battle, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Birtis and Mada Tate Hyde.
She was employed by Washington County Hospital for five years and Avalon Manor Nursing Home for five years.
She attended Baptist Temple in Hagerstown.
She is survived by her husband, William Ernest Husk; one daughter, Louise Driggers of Hagerstown; one son, Lawrence Ford of Hagerstown; two sisters, Oleta Lackey of Salem, W.Va., and Wilma Edgel of Avalon Manor Nursing Home in Hagerstown; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg. The Rev. Daris W. Ford will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service on Wednesday.
Esther M. Swartz
BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Esther M. Swartz, 83, of Bunker Hill, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 1997, at her home.
Born Dec. 26, 1913, in Brucetown, Va., she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Florence Montgomery Galloway.
Her husband, John L. Swartz, preceded her in death.
She and her husband owned and operated Ridgeway Grocery and Service Station.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara D. French of Bunker Hill, and Sara D. Dummond of Stephens City, Va.; two sisters, Alice Hollis and Helen Smith, both of Winchester, Va.; one grandson; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Florence May; and one brother, Philip Galloway.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg.
The Rev. William C. Crowe will officiate.
Burial will be in Rest Cemetery in Frederick County, Va.

Ulmont H. Andrews
Ulmont H. Andrews, 80, of 136 E. North Ave., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born in Greencastle, Pa., he was the son of the late Cornellus S. and Thelma B. Stumbaugh Andrews.
His wife, Jennie C. Beksvoort Andrews, died in 1996.
He was a sales representative with Monumental Life Insurance Co. for 35 years.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in Europe.
He was a member of Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion, Goodwill Athletic Club, and B.P.O. Elks Lodge 378.
He is survived by one daughter, Patricia L. Wilhide of Hagerstown; one sister, Audre Kline of Hagerstown; and two grandchildren.
Private services will be held Tuesday at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.
The Rev. Lamar W. Kopp will officiate.
Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
