Robert W. Boyer
FREDERICK, Md. - Robert William Boyer, 72, of 1722 Worthington Court, died Friday, Jan. 31, 1997, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born March 12, 1924, in Millersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Edwin and Erma Snyder Boyer.
He retired from the federal government after 34 years, and had worked for NASA in Greenbelt, Md., and the Naval Department in Washington, D.C. After his retirement, he was employed by Frederick County Board of Education for 10 years.
He attended Harrisburg Business College and Penn State University.
He was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick.
He also was a member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge 684 in Frederick, and Millersburg Lodge A.F.&A.M. for 50 years.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn E. Lebo Boyer; two daughters, Dianna Berkey of Myersville, Md., and Patricia Harrison of Chester Heights, Pa.; one brother, Richard Boyer of Camp Hill, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown. The Rev. Donald L. Turley will officiate. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Beulah V. Gluck
MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Beulah V. Gluck, 93, of 108 Faust St., died Thursday, Jan. 30, 1997, at ManorCare Health Services in Chambersburg, Pa.
Born March 19, 1903, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Alice Gardner.
Her husband, James E. Gluck, died in 1961.
She was a graduate of Clear Spring High School in Clear Spring, and the former Towson State Normal School, now known as Towson State University in Towson, Md.
She taught in the public schools of Washington County and Franklin County, Pa., for several years.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Mercersburg, Pa., and taught Sunday school for many years.
She is survived by one daughter, June Lewis of Raleigh, N.C.; one son, Donald E. Gluck of Mercersburg; a half-sister, Muriel Gardner of Gettysburg, Pa.; a half-brother, Thomas Gardner of Pinesburg; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Spring Grove Cemetery in Lemasters, Pa. The Rev. Stephen R. Robertson will officiate.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Juanita R. Culp
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Juanita Richard Culp, 87, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, Jan. 31, 1997, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.
Born Dec. 13, 1909, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Rutzer T. and Beulah Myers Clark.
Her husband, Harry F. Richards, died in 1965.
She was a waitress and a homemaker.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs.
She also was a member of Berkeley Chapter 77 Order of the Eastern Star in Berkeley Springs.
She is survived by one daughter, Judith Yost of Berkeley Springs; three grandchildren, Lori Bennett, David R. Yost and Christopher F. Yost, all of Berkeley Springs; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Maude Purnell and Dorothy Clark; and five brothers, Edgar Clark, Ralph Clark, Gladston Clark, Marvin Clark and Harry Clark.
Services will be held at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home in Berkeley Springs Monday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Edward Grove and the Rev. Owen Womack will officiate. Burial will be in Greenway Cemetery in Berkeley Springs.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Margaret N. Wade
CASCADE - Margaret Nelson Wade, 78, of 14633 Pennersville Road, died Friday, Jan. 31, 1997, at Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro, Pa.
Born April 13, 1918, in Cascade, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Sylvia A. Wastler Wade.
She was a 1936 graduate of Smithsburg High School. She attended business college.
She did domestic work for Dr. and Mrs. Robert Kiefer and Mr. and Mrs. Elred Bock, both of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa.
She was a member of Germantown Bethel Church of God, Cascade.
She is survived by one son, Terry W. Wade of Cascade, whom she lived with for the past 19 years; two sisters, Thelma Q. Rottler of Columbia, Md., and Melba C. Law of Cascade; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Olga Jean Gladhill, Mary A. Wade, Lola R. Wade and an infant sister; two brothers, Kennard E. Wade and Thaddeus A. Wade; and one grandson.
A memorial service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Germantown Bethel Church of God, 16924 Raven Rock Road, Cascade. Pastor Paul Tobias will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Alleen M. Houser
Alleen May Houser, 79, of 350 Linganore Ave., Hagerstown, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 1997, at her home.
Born Oct. 16, 1917, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Henry and Bessie May Acord Dayton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Floris Houser, in 1992.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Sue Varady of Chewsville; one son, Michael David Houser of Hagerstown; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Audrey Carl.
Graveside services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown. The Rev. Larry E. Yost will officiate.

Charles R.A. Hunter
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Charles Robert Alexander Hunter, 76, of Shepherdstown, died Friday, Jan. 31, 1997, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born June 25, 1920, in Shepherdstown, he was the son of the late John Robert and Eliza Hunter.
He retired in 1981 as supervisor in the dietary service department of the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Martinsburg.
He was a veteran of World War II and served with the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. He received the American Theater Ribbon, Eame Theater Ribbon with five Bronze Stars, AP Theater Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
He was a member of St. John's Baptist Church, Shepherdstown.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Geraldine Smith Hunter; two daughters, Cynthia Carolyn Togans of Charles Town, W.Va., and Pamela Genevieve Boomer of Shepherdstown; three sons, the Rev. Charles Wesley Hunter of Summit Point, W.Va., Vernon Craig Hunter of Shepherdstown and Dale Eugene Hunter of Martinsburg; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Jenkins and Emma Roman.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Baptist Church, Shepherdstown. The Revs. Joe Liles, Ernest Lyles and Charles W. Hunter will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.
Friends will be received at the church Monday from 7 to 8 p.m.

Elwood C. Pearman
Elwood Clifton Pearman, 82, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 17, 1914, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Edward James and Carrie Virginia Borgeault Pearman.
His wife, D. Annabelle Pearman, died in 1990.
He retired in 1974 from Potomac Dye and Finishing Co. after six years of service. He was previously employed with Hagerstown Rubber Company, retiring in 1967 after 33 years of service.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church.
He also was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by two daughters, Virginia Louise Pearman Needy and Bonnie Kay Pearman Woodard, both of Hagerstown; one sister, Evelyn Kline of Hagerstown; one brother, Edward James Pearman Jr. of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Irene Pearman; and two brothers, Melvin Pearman and Wilbur Pearman.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 1020 Maryland Ave., Hagerstown. The Rev. Andrew J. Cooney will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Clear Spring, with military graveside services conducted by Morris Frock American Legion Post 42.
The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Branch T. Dykes III
WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Branch Taylor "Skip" Dykes III, 50, of Warfordsburg, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 1997, at his home.
Born Aug. 27, 1946, in New York, N.Y., he was the son of Nancy Jane Statt Charlton of Washington, D.C., and the late Branch Taylor Dykes II.
He was a Native American.
He worked as a material control specialist with Allied Signal in Columbia, Md., retiring due to disability in 1993.
He was a Certified Quality Assurance Instructor.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the U.S. Navy.
He moved from Elkridge, Md., to Warfordsburg, Pa., in 1995.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Pamela Marie Miller Dykes; one daughter, Leah Beth Prusaitis of Manassas, Va.; four sisters, Dora "Dobby" Wall of Fairfax, Va., Hazel "Honey B" Gardner of Herndon, Va., Cindy Gay of Berkeley Springs, and Maria E. Garcia of Elkridge; four brothers, Bruce Morton and Aaron Brodsky, both of Catonsville, Butch Omps of Warfordsburg, and Chico Hernandez of Michigan; his stepfather, Patrick "Pater" Charlton of Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Branch Taylor Dykes IV.
Services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 3 p.m.
