Kilmer D. Unger
INWOOD, W.Va. - Kilmer Donald "K.D." Unger, 88, of Inwood, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 1997, at Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home in Winchester, Va.
Born Oct. 5, 1908, in Frederick County, Va., he was the son of the late Jerry Myers and Janie Hutzler Unger.
His wife, Hariett V. Dyche Unger, preceded him in death.
He retired from Martin Marietta and previously worked for Fairchild Air Guard, and the State of West Virginia as a game warden.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korean conflict.
He received the American Theater Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with one Bronze Service Star, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Service Star.
He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by one daughter, Yvonne Marie Unger Burgen of Purcellville, Va.; one son, Earl Ray Unger Sr. of Inwood; six grandchildren, Earl Ray Unger Jr., Resa Christine Unger Aikens, Brad Cameron Unger, Laura Dawn Burgen, Eric Richard Burgen and Kristin Lyn Cioffi; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul I. Unger and Grey W. Unger.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg, W.Va.
The Rev. Paul E. Thompson will officiate.
Burial will be in Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by Newton D. Baker, Post 896, V.F.W.; and Berkeley Post 14, American Legion.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Kenneth R. Weller
FALLS CHURCH, Va. - Kenneth Ray Weller, 69, of 3701 S. George Mason Drive, and formerly of the Quincy, Pa., area, was pronounced dead, Friday, Jan. 30, 1997, at Alexandria Hospital, Alexandria, Va.
Born May 21, 1927, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Ray M. and Mary E. Cooper Weller.
He lived his early life in Millstone, Md., and Somerfield, Pa.
He attended Somerfield Elementary School in Somerfield, and graduated from Quincy High School in 1945.
Following his military service, he attended the College of Emporia in Emporia, Kan., from 1947 through 1949, and then received his bachelor of science degree in 1951 from Kansas State College, now known as Kansas University.
He majored in science comprehensive, and history and government.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He received his basic training at Camp Wheeler, Ga., and then served in Kassel, Germany in the Army of Occupation.
Following his college graduation, he was employed by Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pa., from 1951 through 1963. He then worked for Headquarters, Fifth U.S. Army in Chicago from 1963 through 1967; and then for Headquarters, U.S. Army Material Command, "A.M.C.", Arlington and Alexandria, Va., from 1967 until retiring in June 1988. He was employed as a management analyst.
He was a member of Arlington Unitarian Church in Arlington, Va.
He is survived by one sister, Regina Widmer of Lancaster, Pa.; one brother, Donald W. Weller of Waynesboro; five nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Stephen D. Harris will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Quincy.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Stella S.M. Ryder Brubaker
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Stella S. Meyers Ryder Brubaker, 84, a resident of Franklin County Nursing Home, and formerly of 671 Guilford Ave., Chambersburg, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 1997, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born April 5, 1912, in St. Thomas Township, Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Amos A. and Mary Wingert Meyers.
She was the stepdaughter of the late Minnie Wenger Meyers.
Her first husband, Elmer Ryder, died in 1959. They were married March 24, 1953.
Her second husband, Nevin E. Brubaker, died in 1996.

She was preceded in death by four brothers.
Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Montgomery Brethren in Christ Church, Montgomery Church Road, Mercersburg, and will be conducted by the Rev. Raymond Bricker, the Rev. Howard Meyers and the Rev. Carl Meyers. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Minnich-Miller-May Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the church.

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Paul Miller Jr., 48, of Charles Town, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 1997, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.
Born June 15, 1948, in Winchester, Va., he was the son of Lucille Butts Brown of Charles Town, and the late Paul Miller.
He was a 1966 graduate of Charles Town High School.
He was employed with Badger Sprinkler Company in Ranson. He had been employed with Royal Vendors Inc. in Charles Town, and had 13 years of service with Supertane Gas Company in Ranson and Leggetts Department Store in Charles Town.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Post 948 in Charles Town, and was a 30-year member of Citizens Fire Company in Charles Town.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Wendy T. Miller of Shady Side, Md.; one son, Justin P. Miller of Martinsburg; one sister, Sharon Sue Gray of Berryville, Va.; two stepsisters, Diana Lee Shade of Berryville, and Marsha B. Starkey of Leetown, W.Va.; his companion of 10 years, Kimberly K. "Kim" Magaha of Charles Town; one grandchild; and his stepfather, H. Marshall Brown of Charles Town.
He was preceded in death by one son, Aaron Scott "Scotty" Miller; and one brother, Kenneth E. "Kenny" Miller.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town. The Rev. Royce Simpson will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg.

Lewis Samuel Daugherty, 79, of 803 Hamilton Blvd., Hagerstown, died Friday, Jan. 31, 1997, at his home.
Born Sept. 3, 1917, in Clear Spring, he was the son of the late Ernest P. and Sylvia O. Frush Daugherty.
He retired from Maryland Ribbon Company and was previously employed with Victor Products.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army Air Corps in Africa and Italy.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He was a member of Elks Lodge 378, American Legion Morris Frock Post 42 and the Last Mans Club.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Beard Daugherty, a resident of Westwood Healthcare in Bluefield, Va.; one stepdaughter, Mary Kathryn Burton of Bluefield, W.Va.; one sister, Betty J. Thompson of Waynesboro, Pa.; three step-grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.

Eva Irene Brandenburg Palmer, 93, formerly of Highland Way, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 1997, at Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport.
Born Sept. 4, 1903, in Pleasant Walk, near Myersville, Md., she was the daughter of the late William and Rohann Brandenburg.
Her husband, Ralph Leon Palmer, died in 1987.
They were married in 1925.
She was a life long member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She also was a member of the Women's/Men's Sunday School Class, senior choir, and was active in the Lutheran Theological Seminary Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter, Dorotha Irene Wilson of State College, Pa.; one son, Edward L. Palmer of Davidson, N.C.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
The Rev. Carroll Boyer will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery in Wolfsville, Md.
