Martha M. Schroyer
MYERSVILLE, Md. - Martha Marie Schroyer, 84, of Monument Road, died Thursday, March 6, 1997, at Northampton Manor in Frederick, Md.
Born Sept. 18, 1912, near Wolfsville, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ammie Himes Lewis.
Her husband, Harvey D. Schroyer Sr., died in 1988.
She was a member of Pleasant Walk United Methodist Church for more than 60 years, and was a Sunday school teacher and superintendent of the Sunday school for many years.
She was an honorary member of Myersville Volunteer Fire Co. and a member of the Senior Citizens of Myersville.
She is survived by one daughter, Gay Ann Harper of Myersville; two sons, Roger L. Schroyer and Harvey D. Schroyer Jr., both of Myersville; one brother, Roscoe Lewis of Myersville; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Cora Hays and Carrie Michael; and six brothers, Gaither Lewis, Harrison Lewis, Leon Lewis, Lester Lewis, Earl Lewis and Rufus Lewis.
Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Walk United Methodist Church in Pleasant Walk, Md. The Rev. Nancy L. Green will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Myersville, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Robert R. Jones
BRUNSWICK, Md. - Robert Roscoe Jones, 75, of 117 West B St., died Wednesday, March 5, 1997, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Brownsville Church of the Brethren, Brownsville, Md. The Rev. R. Thomas Fralin Jr. and the Rev. Daniel Spiker will officiate. Burial will be in Brownsville Heights Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick. Brunswick Lodge 191 A.F. & A.M. will conduct a memorial service Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Conrad K. Snyder
TANEYTOWN, Md. - Conrad Kohler Snyder, 66, of 4280 Taneytown Road, Taneytown, died Wednesday, March 5, 1997, at Carroll County General Hospital in Westminster, Md.
Born March 16, 1930, in Chewsville, he was the son of Charles U. Snyder of Hagerstown and the late Dorothy L. Bachtell Snyder.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth O. Snyder, on Aug. 16, 1996.
He was employed by the Maryland State Police as a state trooper, retiring in 1979 after 25 years.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Navy for nine years.
He was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Chewsville.
In addition to his father, he is survived by two nieces, Linda English of Smithsburg and Donna Wieland of Williamsport; four nephews, Richard Floyd of Jefferson, Md., Dennis Hill of Hagerstown, Michael Zimmerman of Slidell, La., and Fred Purnell Jr. of Frederick, Md.; great-nieces and great-nephews; one great-great-niece; and one great-great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Caravetta.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. The Rev. John W. Schildt will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service Monday. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday from 9 to 11 a.m.

Howard S. McKenzie
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Howard S. McKenzie, 90, a resident of Menno-Haven in Chambersburg, and formerly of Marion, Pa., died Thursday, March 6, 1997, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Nov. 6, 1906, in Marion, he was the son of the late Harry S. and Ella Sellers McKenzie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie M. Statler McKenzie, on May 24, 1976.
He retired after 40 years of service from Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown. He was a farmer earlier in life.
He was a life-long member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church near Marion where he served on the church council.
He was a former member of Marion Volunteer Fire Co. and a member of Jr. O.U.A.M. of Marion.
He is survived by one son, Howard E. McKenzie of Montgomery, Ala.; one brother, Chester McKenzie of Chambersburg, Pa.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Dennis S. McKenzie; one sister, Ada Cole; and one brother, Leslie McKenzie.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, Pa. The Rev. Warren Heintzelman will officiate. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service on Saturday.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Silvio Troiano, 68, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, March 5, 1997, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Services and burial will be private.

E. Cathryn Shoemaker
E. Cathryn Shoemaker, 91, of 47 Mealey Parkway, Hagerstown, died Saturday, March 8, 1997, at her home.
Born Feb. 3, 1906, in Cearfoss, she was the daughter of the late Harvey O. and Lillian Pittinger Spickler.
Her husband, William A. Shoemaker, died in 1978.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Temple Builders Sunday School Class. For many years, she taught in the Primary Sunday School Department.
She is survived by two daughters, Lois A. Reynold and Evelyn L. McRoy, both of Hagerstown; one son, William G. Shoemaker of Hagerstown; two sisters, Edna Long and Ethel Fiery, both of Hagerstown; and two brothers, Ross Spickler of Hagerstown and Harold Spickler of Smithsburg.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. George W. Ennis will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home 30 minutes prior to the service.

John H. Mason
CLEAR SPRING - John Henry "Teak" Mason, 77, of 14 N. Mill St., was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Clear Spring, with military graveside services conducted by Morris Frost Post 42 American Legion in Hagerstown.
Viola L. Cline
MYERSVILLE, Md. - Viola L. Cline, 86, of Michael Road, died Friday, March 7, 1997, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born March 17, 1910, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Lelah Palmer Michael.
She retired from Sagner Sewing Factory in Frederick in 1972 after 20 years of service.
She was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Myersville.
She also was a member of Myersville Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty J. Moser of Brunswick, Md., and Doris R. Cline of Hagerstown; one son, Ray A. Cline of Myersville; one sister, Edna Schroyer of Myersville; four brothers, C. Lloyd Michael, Reno Michael, Grayson Michael, all of Myersville, and Clarence Michael of Hagerstown; two grandchildren; and her friend, Debra Foltz, who took care of her.
She was preceded in death by one son, William Lee Cline.
Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Myersville. The Rev. David Howell will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
