Ralph L. Clippinger
FANNETTSBURG, Pa. - Ralph Leroy Clippinger, 77, died Sunday, March 9, 1997, at his home.
Born Jan. 22, 1920, in Fannettsburg, he was the son of the late John F. and Margaret A. Coons Clippinger.
He was a retired security guard from Fairchild Aircraft Corp., Hagerstown.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II with the 19th Combat Engineers in the European African Middle Eastern Service. He received a medal with seven Bronze Stars and a Silver Star.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a member of McCartney Post 232, American Legion, of Dry Run, Pa.
He is survived by two daughters, Dawn Connely of Virginia Beach, Va., and Melanie Clippinger of Hagerstown; one brother, Donald C. Clippinger of Chambersburg, Pa.; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by three sisters.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing or service.
Arrangements are by John L. Agett Funeral Home, Dry Run.
Mildred E. Morrison
Mildred Elizabeth Morrison, 74, of 340 S. Cleveland Ave., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 10, 1923, in Cape Giradeau, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Silas and Ora Olive McLaughlin Neal.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Morrison, in 1963.
She was a finger print technician for the FBI in Washington, D.C. She also was a sales clerk for Brentano's Book Store, and the Bo Beep Shop in Wheaton, Md.
She was of the United Methodist faith.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Spradlin of Hagerstown; three sons, John Morrison of Wheaton, Steve Morrison of Seattle and William Morrison of Missouri; three sisters, Dorothy Powers of Springfield, Mo., Alice Irelan of St. Charles, Mo., and Gladys Ham of St. Clair, Mo.; one brother, Harry Neal of Missouri; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Neal and Jerry Neal.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Don C. Evason will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing.
Willard A. Oney Jr.
Willard Arthur Oney Jr., 71, of 13630 Donnybrook Drive, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at Avalon Manor Nursing Home.
Born Nov. 14, 1925, in Carter City, Ky., he was the son of Freda Williams Wilson Oney Chaney of Wilmington, Ohio, and the late Willard A. Oney Sr.
He was employed as manager of industrial engineering by Mack Trucks, retiring in 1983.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hagerstown.
He also was a member of Knights of Columbus; VFW; BPO Elks 378; the Mack Management Club; and the American Institute of Industrial Engineers.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Lois E. Mohney Oney; two daughters, Roberta Kay Oney of Hagerstown and Janine M. Fouke of Bluffton, S.C.; four sons, Willard A. Oney III of Princess Anne, Md., Forrest R. Oney of Kearneysville, W.Va., Phillip V. Oney and Kurt D. Oney, both of Waynesboro, Pa.; four sisters, Helen E. King of Hudson, Fla., Clara Jean Carolus of Silver City, N.M., Betty J. Adam and Verrena F. Gilliam, both of New Vienna, Ohio; two brothers, William "Buck" Oney of Hudson and Dr. A. Clyde Wilson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Roberta J. Oney.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. George A. Limmer will be celebrant. Burial, with military honors conducted by VFW 1936, will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Prayers will be recited at 6:45 p.m.

Lula E. Toms
BOONSBORO - Lula E. Toms, 76, of Reeders Memorial Home, Boonsboro, and formerly of Crystal Falls Drive, Boonsboro, died Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 3, 1920, in Wythe County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Marco M. and Perlina E. Waddle Whisman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Toms, in 1987.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary Young of Myersville, Md., Freida Forrest of Boonsboro, Peggy Parham of Williamsport, Pa., and Diane Deihl of Dover, Del.; three sons, Albert Kitts Jr. of Emmitsburg, Md., Cecil Reed of Boonsboro and Terry Reed of Hagerstown; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg. The Rev. Royce L. Simpson will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Bethel Cemetery, Foxville, Md.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
David C. Summers Jr.
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - David C. "D.J." Summers Jr., 19, of 426 Hykes Road, died Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at Washington County Hospital, as a result of an automobile accident.
Born March 13, 1977, in Hagerstown, he was the son of David C. Summers Sr. and Darlene Coburn Summers of Greencastle.
He was a 1995 graduate of Greencastle Antrim High School. He also was a graduate of Franklin County Vo-Tech, Chambersburg, Pa., in auto body work.
He was employed by Hoffman Transport, Greencastle, as a loader. He was previously employed by Hershey Auto Machine in Marion, Pa.
In his early life, he attended the Antrim Assembly of God Church, Greencastle.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, canoeing and fixing up cars.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Dawn L. Cornett of Greencastle; maternal grandmother, Bethel Coburn of Greencastle; paternal grandmother, Carrie Summers of College Park, Md.; aunts, uncles, cousins; and his girlfriend, Michelle Stoner of Greencastle.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church, 525 E. Leitersburg St., Greencastle. Pastor Walter G. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
The family will receive friends at Minnich-Miller-May Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Diane K. Williams
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Diane Kelley Williams, 56, of 94 W. Main St., Apt. 3G, died Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at her home.
Born Aug. 4, 1940, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of Gail E. Mullican Kelley of Rockville, Md., and the late Paul C. Kelley.
She was a 1958 graduate of Richard Montgomery High School.
She had been a full-time minister since April 1979.
She was a member of the Zullinger Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Frank V. Williams, whom she married July 7, 1958; four daughters, Karen L. Kipe, of Waynesboro, Yvonne C. Posey of Waynesboro, Va., Allyson M. Williams of Queens, N.Y., and Renee L. Williams of New Mexico; one sister, Jeanette Seymore of Damascus, Md.; one brother, Cordell Kelley of Baltimore; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-granddaughter.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.

Fred C. Carbaugh
MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Fred C. Carbaugh, 90, of 8020 Buchanan Trail West, died Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at his home.
Born March 14, 1906, in Claylick, Pa., he was the son of the late John and Lilly Belle Rhubeck Carbaugh.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viva Little Carbaugh, on Oct. 25, 1990. They were married on March 14, 1927.
He was employed as a superintendent of construction by the former Earley and Sons Construction Co., Hagerstown, retiring in 1957. In 1960, he opened the Midway Restaurant of Mercersburg, which he operated for 10 years. He operated a saw filing business at his home.
He was a member of Kasiesville Bible Church, Kasiesville, Pa.
He was a former member of the Tuscarora School Board.
He is survived by three daughters, Annabelle Zimmerman and Romona Reeder, both of Mercersburg, and Betty Carbaugh of Philadelphia; one son, Robert R. Carbaugh of Mercersburg; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. Arnold Martin, the Rev. Norris E. Sword and the Rev. James A. Dodge will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
Friends may call Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
Singleton Luttrell
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Singleton Luttrell, 94, of Knott Nursing Home, Charles Town, died Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at the nursing home.
Born Nov. 1, 1902, in Delaplane, Va., he was the son of the late Hugh Montgomery and Eliza Atlanta Singleton Luttrell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Bailey Luttrell, on March 19, 1980.
He owned and operated a landscaping business in Charles Town. He also had been employed by Fairchild Industries, Hagerstown.
He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Charles Town.
He also was a member of the American Rose Society.
He is survived by one niece, Jane Morison of Gaithersburg, Md., and one great-niece, Julie O. Nelson of Alexandria, Va.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Marie S. Luttrell; and one brother, Hugh M. Luttrell.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town. The Rev. James Chambly will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
