Florence H. Gibby
SOUTHBURY, Conn. - Florence Hardwell Gibby, 82, of Southbury, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, March 11, 1997, at East Hill Woods retirement community, Southbury.
Born in 1914 in Detroit, she was the daughter of the late O.R. Hardwell and Frances McGill Hardwell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Gibby, in 1983.
She was a 1932 graduate of St. Margaret's School, Waterbury, Conn., and a 1936 graduate of Mt. Holyoke College, South Hadley, Mass.
She was a social worker in Hagerstown, Buffalo, N.Y., and Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, N.J.
She is survived by one daughter, Frances Roberts of Sharon, Conn.; and one son, William M. Gibby of Califon, N.J.
Services will be Wednesday, March 19, at 11 a.m. at Christ Church, Short Hills, N.J.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, N.J.

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - Mary Bell Cottrill, 77, of Douglasville and formerly of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, March 11, 1997, in Georgia.
She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Hagerstown.
She was a former member of The Order of Eastern Star, Rebecca Lodge.
She is survived by two sons, Danny H. Kline of Villa Rica, Ga., and Melvin Douglas King of Hagerstown; and three grandchildren, Daniel Kline, Ellen Kline and Catherine Kline.
Services will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
Arrangements are by The Cremation Society of the South.

WILLIAMSPORT - Alice Catherine King, 53, of 16838 Tammany Manor Road, died Thursday, March 13, 1997, at her home.
Born Dec. 4, 1943, in Hagerstown, she was the adopted daughter of the late Preston Victor and Alice Lynn Spreacker.
She was the daughter of the late Herbert Herall and Thelma E. Herall Moore.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Clear Spring.
She also was a member of AARP and International Fan Club of Billy Crash Craddock.
She is survived by her husband, Estel Q. King of Williamsport; two daughters, Lourie L. King of Williamsport and Paula D. King of Clear Spring; one sister, Dorothy V. Schroyer of Hagerstown; five brothers, Leroy Herall and Thomas Herall, both of Hagerstown, Frank Herall of Omaha, Neb., Robert Herall of St. Lucie, Fla., and Paul Spreacker of Glengary, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Janice V. Hutzell.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Clear Spring. T
he Rev. Richard Yates and Paul Spreacker will officiate.
Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Charles H. Snyder
Charles Howard Snyder, 88, of 651 Marion St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, March 13, 1997, at Avalon Manor Nursing Home.
Born June 17, 1908, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Samuel A. and Mable M. Staubs Snyder.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah M. Snyder, in June 1993.
He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft for 32 years, retiring in 1972.
He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God, where he was head usher.
He is survived by two sons, Richard E. Snyder of Williamsport and Robert E. Snyder of Fremont, Calif.; one sister, Bertha Mae Dayhoff of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Harold Snyder.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
Pastor Steven S. McCullough and Pastor Arvel J. Barrett will officiate.
Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
