Robert D. Harvey Sr.
Robert DeSales Harvey Sr., 77, of 20011 Sheridan Ave., Hagerstown, died Friday, March 14, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 4, 1919, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late William F. and Abby Twigg Harvey.
He was the stepson of the late Katherine McInturff Harvey.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna A. Sirbaugh Harvey, in 1992.
He was employed by Fruit Growers Express Co., retiring in 1979 after 35 years of service.
A veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, he served during World War II.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Judy Ann Davenport of Las Vegas and Mary K. Prince of Hagerstown; one son, Robert D. Harvey Jr. of Hagerstown; one brother, John Joseph Harvey of Cumberland; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Elta Frances Bender; and two brothers, William F. Harvey III and Lester Harvey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 226 W. Washington St., Hagerstown.
The Rev. George A. will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
Prayers will be said at 8:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Robert L. Long
Robert Lee Long, 64, of 17501 Lexington Ave., Hagerstown, died Friday, March 14, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 9, 1932, in Funkstown, he was the son of the late Elmer C. and Lillian E. Seipler Long.
He was a bus driver for Greyhound Bus Co., Hagerstown, for 15 years.
He drove a tanker for the AC&T Oil Co., Hagerstown, for eight years.
Prior to retiring in 1995, he drove a truck for Bowman Trucking Co., Hagerstown.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean War.
He received the Korean Service Medal with five Bronze Stars and the United Nations Service Medal.
He was a member of St. Mary's Lutheran Church, Hagerstown.
He also was a member of Boonsboro Fire and Rescue Co.; Clopper Michael Post 10, American Legion, Boonsboro; Antietam Lodge 197 Free and Accepted Masons, Keedysville; and the Olive Branch Chapter 34, Order of Eastern Star.
He was awarded The Herald-Mail Trophy for Outstanding Fireman of Washington County in 1955.
He is survived by his wife whom he married on Dec. 24, 1960, Marie F. Diffenderfer Long; one sister, Pauline V. Losh of Hagerstown; three brothers, James A. Long and Thomas E. Long, both of Boonsboro, and Richard L. Long of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer C. Long Jr., Russell L. Long and Francis Long.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, Pa.
Pastor Roger K. Myers will officiate.
Burial, with military graveside services conducted by the Honor Guard of the Charles M. Nitterhouse VFW Post 599, Chambersburg, will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Masonic memorial services will be conducted Sunday at 7 p.m. by his lodge at the funeral home.
Ludmila Gilmore
Ludmila Gilmore, 86, of Ravenwood Nursing Home, and formerly of 1034 Brinker Drive, Hagerstown, died Friday, March 14, 1997, at the nursing home.
Born May 9, 1910, in Prince George County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Mancos Jamarik.
She was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Olof W. Gilmore; one daughter, Phyllis Green of Temple Terrace, Fla.; one son, Charles P. Gilmore of Gaithersburg, Md.; one sister, Olga Hirth of Pleasant Hills, Pa.; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Coralla and one brother, Paul Jamarik.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
The Rev. George W. Evans will officiate.
Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

CLEAR SPRING - Julia Irene Steele, 80, who died Thursday, March 13, 1997, at the Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport, was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Edmond Steele in 1989.
Mae A. Weller
RANDALLSTOWN, Md. - Mae Alverta Weller, 71, of Randallstown, died Friday, March 14, 1997, at Northwest Hospital Center.
She was born June 18, 1925, in Indian Springs.
She retired from Catonsville Community College, where she worked for many years.
She also had worked for Dunkin Donuts, Eldersburg, Md.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Lee Dixon of Baltimore and Sherri Brooks of Catonsville, Md. and four grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Haight Funeral Home and Chapel, Sykesville, Md. The Rev. Stanley Janaites will officiate. Burial will be in Park Head Cemetery near Clear Spring.
Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Geneva M. Thomas
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Geneva Mae Thomas, 69, of Charles Town, died Saturday, March 15, 1997, in Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Feb. 4, 1928, in Millville, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Floyce Rickard and Rachel M. Rickard Penwell.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Floyd F. Thomas; one son, Kenneth W. Thomas of Inwood, W.Va.; one sister, Mary Thomas of Summit Point, W.Va.; one brother, Robert F. Rickard of Middleway, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Arlene Silveous and one brother, Bert Rickard.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel.
The Rev. William C. Crowe will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

William L. Palmer
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - William Lee Palmer, 86, of Route 2, died Saturday, March 15, 1997, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Sept. 28, 1910, in Morgan County, W.Va., he was the son of the late William Lee and Myrtle Odessa Rainer Palmer Sr.
He was employed by the Consumer Fuel Co., Martinsburg.
He is survived by four daughters, Lorraine Rice and Faye Knipple, both of Martinsburg, Barbara Jean Smallwood and Ilene Smith, both of Hedgesville, W.Va.; one son, William M. Palmer of Falling Waters; one half sister, Ardella Moss Kackley of Martinsburg; 31 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Pastor Curt Lowry will officiate.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.
