James D. L. Presley
CAVETOWN - James David Lesley Presley, 78, of 22426 Old Georgetown Road, died Monday, Nov. 11, 1996, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 25, 1918, he was the son of the late David and Jennie Brown Presley.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II.
He is survived by four nieces, Pauline Lathrum of Ione, Calif., Shirley Penkivich of Martinez, Calif., Linda Godsey of Pueblo, Colo., and Linda Furman of Kirkwood, N.Y.; and five nephews, Charles Lewis of Pueblo, Robert Lewis of Somerset, Ky., Dallas Lewis of Loveland, Colo., James Lewis of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Bobby Presley of Windsor, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Vera Marie Lewis.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate.

Ruth M. F. Senna
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Ruth Mae Frisby Senna, 64, of 449 W. 5th St., died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 1996, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.
Born Sept. 15, 1932, in Parkville, Md., she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Hoover Frisby.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She was a life member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Post 16, Baltimore.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Senna, whom she married on Jan. 1, 1960; one brother, William Frisby of Baltimore; a great-niece; a great-great-niece and great-great-nephew with whom she lived, Caitlin Carbone and Joshua Carbone; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Gail Huber in 1974, and a stepson, Randy R. Senna, in 1972.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
The Rev. Charles B. Jessen will officiate.
Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Betty J. Koontz
Betty Janett Koontz, 61, of 1710 Howell Road, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 1996, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 5, 1934, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Harry Guy and Martha Kledo Hanes Sheppard.
She was a 1952 graduate of Brunswick High School.
She was employed by McDonald's for 18 years, and earlier had worked for two years at Fairchild Industries.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Hagerstown.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Koontz Sr.; two daughters, Linda Tritapoe and Kay Sirbaugh, both of Hagerstown; one son, Mark Coleman of Waynesboro, Pa.; two stepsons, Harry Koontz Jr. of Sharpsburg and David Koontz of Frederick; seven grandchildren and six nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Neva Williams; and one brother, Charles Sheppard.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
The Rev. Edward H. Heim will officiate.
Burial will be in Samples Manor Cemetery, Samples Manor, near Sharpsburg.

Doris H. Aycoth
Doris Helen Aycoth, 70, of Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 1996, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 21, 1926, in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. Adams and Helen Barnes.
She formerly was employed by Ross Garment Co.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She was a member of Thursday Night Women's Major Duckpin Bowling League and Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Harold N. Aycoth; two daughters, Donna M. Aycoth of Hagerstown and Doris Elaine Presgraves of Kearneysville, W.Va.; one son, Michael Aycoth of Hagerstown; and one grandson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hagerstown.
The Rev. Edward Manalis will be celebrant.
Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Boulevard North, Hagerstown.

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Edith M. Mellott, 97, of Long Term Care, Fulton County Medical Center, and formerly of Needmore, Pa., who died Monday, Nov. 11, 1996, is survived by two daughters, Lena Winters of Mercersburg, Pa., and Naomi Kline of McConnelsburg, Pa.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Roger Traux officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Helen Chapman Collis Dunham, 91, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 1996, at her home under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born Jan. 31, 1905, in Bunker Hill, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James Madison and Annie Berket Abrell Chapman.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard F. "Mike" Collis, on July 5, 1973; and by her second husband, Herman W. Dunham, on Sept. 9, 1992.
She was a seasonal employee of the C.H. Musselman Co., retiring in 1970.
She was a member of the Gerrardstown United Methodist Church and the Anna Lee Class of the church.
She is survived by one daughter; Anna Mae Miller of Martinsburg; one son, Francis M. "Hank" Collis of Gerrandstown, W.Va.; one step daughter, Betty Lou Webber of Inwood, W.Va.; one sister, Ruth C. Swartz of Inwood; two brothers, James B. Chapman of Bunker Hill and Ward F. Chapman of Ridgeway, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Edwin Collis; one granddaughter, Germaine D. Collis; two sisters, Mabel E. Sencindiver and Catherine C. Swartz; and two brothers, Earl M. Chapman and Douglas W. Chapman.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Gerrardstown United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lauren Lay officiating.
Burial will be in the Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery.

Rachel M. Moats
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Rachel M. Moats, 46, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 1996, at her home.
Born Jan. 16, 1950, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of Virgil A. Housden of Stephens City, Va., and the late Luvenia Smeltzer Housden.
She was employed by Londontown Manufacturing Co.
Prior to that, she worked at Perfection Garment.
She attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Frederick, Md.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Ray H. Moats; one son, Ray H. Moats Jr., at home; and two brothers, Tony Housden of Belleville, Ill., and Larry Housden of Manassas, Va.
Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg, with the Rev. G. Edward Grove officiating.
Burial will be in Manor Church Cemetery, Fairplay.

Emma H. Mellott
McCONNELLSBURG, Pa.- Emma H. Mellott, 87, of South 2nd St., died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 1996, at Long Term Care, Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg.
Born Aug. 24, 1909, in Warfordsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harvey H. and Esther Lashley Harris.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Mellott, in 1984.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Big Cove Tannery, Pa.
She is survived by one sister, Ruth L. Harris of Wilmington, Del.; and 17 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Big Cove Tannery.
Vicar Mark Werner and Pastor Henry K. Johnson will officiate.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg.
There will be no viewing, but the family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
