Wayne K. Kline Sr.
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Wayne K. Kline Sr., 59, of 16 Lincoln Ave., died Saturday, March 22, 1997, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born Nov. 18, 1937, in Wolfsville, Md., he was the son of the late Archie M. and Geneva A. Martin Kline.
He was a 1956 graduate of Waynesboro High School.
He was employed by Landis Tool Co. in Waynesboro for 40 years as a supervisor.
He was a member of National AARP.
He is survived by his wife, J. Arlene Burkett Kline, whom he married July 7, 1968; four daughters, Kimberly L. Baker, Julie L. Richardson and Angela L. Kline, all of Waynesboro, and Karen L. Klein of Madison, N.J.; two sons, Wayne K. Kline Jr. of Greencastle, Pa., and Thomas M. Kline of Waynesboro; two sisters, Jane Jones, Wichita, Kan., and Joyce Shearer of Waynesboro; two brothers, Charles Kline of St. Thomas, and Edwin Kline of Waynesboro; 11 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Melanie L. Kline; one sister, Lillian Hykes; and one brother, Donald Kline.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Michael V. Newman, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m.
Arthur D.L. Strait
McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Arthur Dugan Lee Strait, 75, of Route 2, and formerly of Needmore, Pa., died Friday, March 21, 1997, in the Extended Care Unit of Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg.
Born July 14, 1921, in Harrisonville, Pa., he was the son of the late Alvin Strait and Addie Pepper Strait.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Siloam United Methodist Church, Harrisonville. The Rev. Donald Bard, the Rev. Henry Johnson, Mark Werner, vicar, and the Rev. David Reams will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by Fulton Honor Guard.
A viewing will be held at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home Inc. in Harrisonville, today from 2 to 9 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Marilyn L.D. Gantz
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Marilyn L. Davis Gantz, 71, of 331 S. Church St., died Friday, March 21, 1997, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born April 12, 1925, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. Sr. and Elsie M. Rock Davis.
She was a 1943 graduate of Waynesboro High School.
Early in life, she was employed for several years in the payroll department at Waynesboro Knitting Mill.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, and the Wilson Sunday School Class.
She also was a member of National AARP.
She is survived by her husband, Robert S. Gantz, whom she married Sept. 9, 1949; one daughter, Beverly K. Pierce of Waynesboro; one son, Michael C. Gantz of Waynesboro; two sisters, M. Ruth Gossard and Patricia J. Kline, both of Waynesboro; one brother, Charles A. Davis Jr. of Waynesboro; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine Bopp, M. Pauline Gluck and H. Ernestine Stevens.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Jay E. Zimmerman, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Margaret L. Snyder
Margaret L. Snyder, 63, of 129 Winter St., Hagerstown, died Saturday, March 22, 1997, at her home.
Born June 23, 1933, in Clearbrook, Va., she was the daughter of the late George W. and Ethel L. Jenkins Deal.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She was a member of the auxiliary to B.P.O. Eagles 694, and was the group's past president and past state president. She also was a member of AMVETS Post 10 in Hagerstown, auxiliary to V.F.W. Post 1936, and several bowling leagues including Wednesday Morning Ladies, Friday Night Enforcers, both at Long Meadow, and Eagles Southside. She also played bingo.
She is survived by her husband, John O. Snyder Sr.; two daughters, Cindy L. Allder of Bluemont, Va., and Donna S. Maginnis of Hagerstown; four sons, Daniel L. Snyder of Upper Marlboro, Md., Donald E. Snyder of Canal Fulton, Ohio, John O. Snyder Jr. of Leitersburg, and Lloyd J. Snyder of Smithsburg; two sisters, Jean Boyce of Winchester, Va., and Patricia Baker of Stephenson, Va.; one brother, Glenn Deal of Boyce, Va.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Deal.
Services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. George W. Ennis and the Rev. J. Norman Mayer will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Beulah M. Tosten
Beulah Mayola Tosten, 73, formerly of 121 Artizan St., Williamsport, died Saturday, March 22, 1997, at Clearview Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 10, 1923, in Savanna, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Iva May Kennel Scott.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Ann Heefner of Hagerstown, Darlene Gardner of Smithsburg and Linda Byers of Williamsport; three sisters, Sarah Kirkpatrick of Florida, June Grimm of Hagerstown, and Lolita Ringer of Arizona; one brother, Richard Scott of Hagerstown; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Werst, Ruth Whitman and Charotte Turner; and three brothers, Harry Long, Robert Scott and Frank Scott.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Dora M. Grim
SHARPSBURG - Dora Meda Grim, 86, of 2323 Dargan Road, died Saturday, March 22, 1997, in Sharpsburg.
Born April 19, 1910, in Antietam Furnace, Md., she was the daughter of the late Philip Noah and Agnes Savilla Ingram Jamison.
Her husband, Clarence Douglas Grim, died in 1972.
She was employed with Fairchild Aircraft Corp., during World War II.
She was a member of Samples Manor Church of God.
She also was a member of Potomac Valley Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and Samples Manor Church Cemetery Committee.
She is survived by one son, Neal Grim of Sharpsburg; one sister, Lavon Grim of Sharpsburg; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald Sylvester Grim and James Philip Grim, and two brothers, Thirman Everard Jamison and Leavitt Jamison.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Burnside First Church of God, 3904 Mills Road, Sharpsburg. The Rev. Ernest E. Witmer will officiate. Burial will be in Samples Manor Cemetery in Sharpsburg.
Friends may call at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will be open Tuesday after 9 a.m. for the convenience of friends.
George M. Lynn Sr.
George Miller Lynn Sr., 79, of Frederick St., Hagerstown, died Friday, March 21, 1997, at his home.
Born May 9, 1917, in Winchester, Va., he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Mary Sarah Miller Lynn.
He was employed for Railway Express, Grove Manufacturing and Fairchild Aircraft, retiring in 1982.
He owned and operated Immediate Washer Service for a number of years.
He was a member of Church of the Brethren in Hagerstown; and AARP.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Helen LaFollette Lynn; three daughters, Karen Sue Simmers of Hagerstown, Mary Ellen Marple of Bunker Hill, W.Va., and Nancy Lee Messick of Winchester; two sons, Sherman Lee Lynn Sr. of Hagerstown, and George Miller Lynn Jr. of Winchester; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg. The Rev. Dean Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.

Mildred M. Davis
Mildred Mae Davis, 85, of 250 N. Colonial Drive, Hagerstown, and formerly of Brownsville, died Sunday, March 23, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 13, 1911, in Brownsville, she was the daughter of the late John and Daisy Iselin Barrett.
Her husband, Edward Franklin Davis, died in 1981.
She was a homemaker, and gave piano and organ lessons in her home.
She was a member of Brownsville Church of the Brethren, where she was a member of the Golden Rule Fellowship and was pianist for the adult Sunday school class.
She also was a member of Pleasant Valley Senior Citizens Association.
She is survived by three sons, H. Donald Violet of Hagerstown, Robert H. Violet of Hagerstown, and Larry E. Davis of Boonsboro; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Virginia Harsh.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Brownsville Church of the Brethren.
The Rev. R. Thomas Fralin Jr. and the Rev. Ed Jordan will officiate.
Burial will be in Old Brownsville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, today from 7 to 9 p.m.
