Richard W. Souders
Richard Wayne Souders, 71, of 11830 Patrick Road, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 7, 1925, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Nathan Jesse and Catherine B. Zimmerman Souders Sr.
He was employed by M.P. Moller for 44 years until his retirement.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during World War II.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was president of the Senior Adult Choir and Friendship Class. He was a former trustee of the church.
He also was a member of Dixon-Troxell Post 211 Funkstown American Legion and past president of AFL-CIO Local 21108.
He is survived by his wife, M. Louise Souders; two brothers, Nathan Jesse Souders Jr. of Keedysville and Howard B. Souders of Hagerstown; nine nieces, and five nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Jane Souders, Betty J. Raicih, Dorothy Jones and Marie Ruck.
Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., North Hagerstown. The Rev. Eddie Blackman will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Claude B. Truax Sr.
WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Claude B. "Turk" Truax Sr., 59, of Route 1, died Wednesday, March 26, 1997, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, Pa.
Born March 3, 1938, in Warfordsburg, he was the son of Gladys M. Miller Truax of McConnellsburg and the late Howard A. Truax.
He was a self-employed truck driver.
He was a member of Amaranth Church of the Brethren, Warfordsburg. He attended Pleasant Grove Christian Church, Needmore, Pa.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Darlene L. Carson Truax, whom he married June 16, 1958; one daughter, Tammy S. Steiner of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; one son, Claude B. Truax Jr., at home; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Angie L. Truax; two half sisters, Hilda Mellott and Josephine DeShong; and one half brother, Boyd Truax.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Christian Church. The Rev. Denver Plessinger and the Rev. Frank Teeter will officiate. Burial will be in Amaranth Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Warfordsburg.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock. The family also will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Roy S. Hays
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Roy S. Hays, 86, of 334 E. Catherine St., died Wednesday, March 26, 1997, at ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg.
Born April 2, 1910 in Mercersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late William and Beulah May Eshelman Hays.
He was employed by the former Richard Textiles, now Hoffman Mills Inc., Shippensburg, Pa., retiring in 1972 after 32 years. He subsequently worked at Printaway, Chambersburg.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Chambersburg, where he was a member of the Men's Bible Class and served as a church usher and a greeter.
He is survived by his wife of more than 65 years, Mary Coffman Hays; one daughter, Evelyn Hays Guldin of Chambersburg; one son, William J. Hays of Severn, Md.; two sisters, Lillian Shrader and Elmira C. Hays, both of Chambersburg; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Hays.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Donald C. Nolder will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
Friends may call Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary P.M. Good
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Mary Pauline McKenzie Good, 77, of 112 Fairview Ave., died Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 15, 1920, in Fayetteville, she was the daughter of the late Leslie A. and Mary C. Fleck McKenzie.
She was a 1938 graduate of Chambersburg High School, Chambersburg, Pa. She attended Chambersburg Business College for two years, and took executive secretarial courses.
She was employed by J.J. Newberry Department Store; was a secretary for attorney George Black for two years; was a secretary for Glenn Benedict for two years, all in Chambersburg. She also worked as a billing clerk and cashier at United Telephone Co., Chambersburg, from 1940 to 1944. She also taught piano and organ.
She was a member of Fayetteville Lutheran Church until 1950, where she taught Sunday school and played the organ and piano for Sunday school and church. Upon moving to Waynesboro, she became a member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, where she was a deaconess from 1952 to the present. She was pianist for the Sunday school class for many years and was a member of the Christian Homebuilders Sunday School Class.
She was a member of South Chapter 2799 AARP and the National AARP.
She is survived by her husband, H. Willard Good, whom she married on June 17, 1944; and one son, Darwin Eugene Good of Waynesboro.
Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. Pastor Paul Holsey and Pastor Brent K. Driver will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.

George E. Taylor
HANCOCK - George Edward Taylor, 65, of West High Street, and formerly of Baltimore, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born Aug. 18, 1931, in Baltimore, he was the son of Helen Pearl Robinson Taylor of Warfordsburg, Pa., and the late Benjamin Franklin Taylor.
He retired in 1992 from his job as a pressman for the Washington County Board of Education.
He was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Gloria Lee Grim Taylor; one daughter, Susan Lynn Taylor of Hancock; and two brothers, Gilbert Ronald Taylor of Warfordsburg and Wilbur Clarence Taylor of Baltimore.
A Mass will be offered on Monday, April 7, 1997, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Hancock. The Rev. George W. Glick will officiate.
Arrangements are by Grove Funeral Home, Hancock.
Betty J. Armstrong
WILLIAMSPORT - Betty Jane Armstrong, 68, of Homewood Retirement Center, and formerly of 17521 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at the center.
Born April 16, 1928, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George H. and Dessie A. Blubaugh Harmon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Daniel Armstrong Sr., in 1995.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the United Brethren faith.
She is survived by two sisters, Pauline E. Summers and Anna D. Heckman, both of Chambersburg, Pa; two brothers, Brinton E. Harmon of Midland, Mich., and Harold G. Harmon of Pensacola, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ada Miller and Armatha Besecker; three brothers, Joseph Harmon, Robert Harmon and Earl S. Harmon; and one half brother, Raymond Blubaugh.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport. Pastor Gregory L. Miller Sr. will officiate.
Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.
Jane C. Davidson
Jane Clark Davidson, 85, of 937 St. Clair St. Hagerstown, and formerly of Yonkers, N.Y., died Thursday, March 27, 1997, at Homewood Retirement Center.
Born Feb. 26, 1912, in Yonkers, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late David H. and Marion Miller Clark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Davidson, in 1974.
She retired in 1976 from the Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxsville, N.Y., where she was a member of the admissions staff.
She was a member of Haven Lutheran Church where she sang in the adult choir. She served as an organist and choir director while living in New York.
She was a 10-year charter member and past president of the Haven Road Senior Citizens Club, a former member of AARP and director of the A.A.R. Pets.
She is survived by one daughter, Leslie D. Hobbs of Hagerstown, one sister, Marjorie Geekie of Stone Mountain, Ga., and two grandsons, David Hobbs of Bridgewater, N.J., and Paul Hobbs of Charlotte, N.C.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Haven Lutheran Church, 1035 Haven Road, Hagerstown. The Rev. Torben Aarsand will officiate. Burial will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Oakland Cemetery, Yonkers.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. N., Hagerstown, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Richard K. McNeil
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Richard K. McNeil, 61, of 7839 Anthony Highway, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at Waynesboro Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Ann McNeil.
Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
