Pauline V. White
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Pauline Violet White, 96, of 13903 Harbaugh Church Road, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 1996, at her home.
Born Dec. 18, 1899, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Emma V. Leonard White Sr.
She was a graduate of Columbia Business College.
She retired from Abbie Jane Flowers and had previously been employed by Hagerstown Shoe Co.
She was a life member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by one sister, Frances V. White of Waynesboro; a great niece; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Bessie V. White, Mary E. White, Hattie A. White and Margaret R. White; and two brothers, John E. White Jr. and Cleveland W. White.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam At., Hagerstown. The Rev. Edward H. Heim will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Ruth L. Demottez
Ruth Leona Demottez, 71, of 331 Ridge Ave., Hagerstown, died Friday, Dec. 6, 1996, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 16, 1924, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Nora M. Churchey Marshall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Demottez Sr. in 1976.
She was a retired employee of the E. J. Fennel Co., Hagerstown.
She is survived by one daughter, Theresa A. Jenkins of Hagerstown; one son, Joseph D. Demottez Jr. of Hagerstown; three sisters, Betty J. Moore of Williamsport, Dolly L. Weismann of Baltimore and Ellen L. Whittington of Hagerstown; four brothers, Walter R. Marshall, Harold S. Marshall, John W. Marshall all of Hagerstown and James H. Marshall of Layton, Utah; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., North Hagerstown. The Rev. Bill L. Clark will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
James A. Bear
FREDERICK, Md. - James Albert Bear, 80, of Montclaire Ave., and formerly of Wolfsville, Md., died Friday, Dec. 6, 1996, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 15, 1916, in Wolfsville, he was the son of the late James Elmer and Susan Martin Bear.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 33 years, Ida Irene Harshman Bear in 1979.
He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft and retired from Mack Trucks, Hagerstown, in 1982.
He was a member of Garfield United Methodist Church, Garfield.
He was a charter member of the Wolfsville Ruritan Club for 39 years; a member of the Wolfsville Senior Citizens Food and Friends and was a Board of Election judge in Frederick County.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Geraldine Gosnell Abrecht Bear; three daughters, Janet Bear Ander of Baltimore, Jacque Elizabeth Bear and Joan Louise Bear, both of Wolfsville; one son, James Dennis Bear of Wolfsville; one stepdaughter, Dawn Moss of Frederick; six grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Garfield United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Randall S. Reid and the Rev. Hayden Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Salem United Methodist Cemetery, Wolfsville.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Myersville, Md.

Lillian E. H. Teare
Lillian Ethel Harrison Teare, 94, of Ravenwood Nursing Care Center, Hagerstown, died Friday, Dec. 6, 1996, at the home.
Born Dec. 25, 1901, in Caldwell, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Samuel David and Lillian Hope Harrison.
She married her husband, Philip Teare on June 26, 1925. He preceded her in death in 1967. She lived in Denville, N.J. and moved to Smithsburg in 1990.
She was a graduate of Caldwell High School and Montclair State Normal School both in New Jersey.
She was an elementary school teacher in Morris County, N.J. until her retirement in 1953.
She was a member of the Washington Square United Methodist Church, Md. She was a former member of The United Methodist Church, Rockaway, N.J.
She is survived by one daughter, Jane Winfrey of Smithsburg; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
A memorial service will be held in New Jersey at the convenience of the family.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

Robert L. Andrews Jr.
ST. THOMAS, Pa. - Robert L. Andrews Jr., 53, of 1056 Apple Way, died Friday, Dec. 6, 1996, at his home.
Born Aug. 30, 1943, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of Robert L. and Mable Hartman Andrews Sr. of Chambersburg.
He was employed as a truck driver by Bill Miller Trucking Co., formerly Charles Karper Trucking, Inc.
He attended Oasis of Love Church, Shippensburg, Pa.
He enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Doreinda Elliott Andrews, whom he married in 1954; one son, Devery Robert Andrews of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Barbara Brohawn of Duck Key, Fla., and Suzanne Johnston of Birdsboro, Pa.; two brothers, James A. Andrews of McConnellsburg, Pa. and Alan Andrews of St. Thomas; one granddaughter and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 6492 Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas. The Rev. Elvina Miller, D.D. will officiate. Burial will be in Stinger Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday. For the convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will be open from 2 to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Mary Ann Petrucci
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Mary Ann Petrucci, 87, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Dec. 6, 1996, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born March 19, 1909, in Trisungo, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Augustine and Frances Angelucci Saladini.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Petrucci Sr.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
She also was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court 392; the Sons of Italy and City Hospital Women's Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth J. Bigiarelli of Martinsburg; four sons, Anthony P. Petrucci of Stewartstown, Pa., Franklin D. Petrucci, Raymond T. Petrucci, both of Martinsburg and Bernard M. Petrucci of Lakeland, Fla.; four sisters, Clemantine Piccolomini of Kearneysville, W.Va., Rose Stuck of Palamyra, Pa., Arra Corrado of Hershey, Pa. and Clara Shoemaker of Punta Gorda, Fla.; two brothers, Ralph Saladini and Pasquale Saladini, both of Baltimore; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas A. Petrucci; one sister, Louise Moore and one brother, Angelo Saladini.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. John V. DiBacco Jr. as celebrant. Burial prayers will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. A vigil service will be conducted at 8 p.m.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Joseph's Catholic School, 336 S. Queen St., Martinsburg.
The family will meet at Brown Funeral Home Monday at 9:30 a.m. before going to the church.
Pauline N. Baker
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Pauline N. Baker, 73, of Manheim Road, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 1996 at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born April 3, 1923, in Rouzerville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John L. and Mary Jane Kauffman Downin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay R. Baker in 1990.
She was employed by Landis Machine Co., Waynesboro and Hess's Packing House at Five Forks.
She was a member of Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church.
She was a member of AARP.
She is survived by three daughters, Thelma J. Parker, Cheryl A. Cramer, both of Waynesboro, and Linda K. Belden of Newville, Pa.; two sons, Gary L. Baker of Chambersburg, Pa. and Ralph E. "Eddy" Baker of Waynesboro; two sisters, Ethel M. Davis of Smithsburg and June L. Stine of Shady Grove, Pa.; a twin brother, Paul Downin Sr. of Quincy, Pa.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Harbaugh Cemetery near Rouzerville. Pastor Wilbur F. Besecker and Pastor H. Ray Kipe will officiate.
There will be no viewing.

Alice Louise Boteler Niner, 81, of 19607 Foxcroft Circle, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 1996, at her home.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John Henry Niner.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Edith Mae Holder.
