Jane L. DeBold
Jane Louise DeBold, 77, of 15523 National Pike, Hagerstown, died Friday, April 4, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 15, 1920, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Katherine Matilda Hoffman Cromer.
She was employed by Fairchild Industries, Hagerstown and Bethlehem Steel Co., Baltimore. She also had been a homemaker.
She was of the Protestant faith. She attended the St. Paul Ladies Sunday School Class, Clear Spring.
She was a member of the West End Ladies Bowling League. She was a Cub Scout leader of Pack 102 and a Den Mother.
She is survived by her husband, Donald E. DeBold Sr.; one daughter, Linda C. Trimmer of Vera Beach, Fla.; one son, Donald E. DeBold Jr. of Hagerstown; two sisters, Betty Diffendal of Spring Hill, Fla. and Phyllis Clipp of Sharpsburg; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtle Rhodes and Isabelle Carter.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Donald E. Thompson Funeral Home, 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring. The Rev. Thomas Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Donald O. Smith
ARTEMAS, Pa. - Donald O. Smith, 67, of Rd. 1, died Thursday, April 3, 1997, in Fulton County, as a result of a farming accident.
Born Jan. 17, 1930, in Fulton County, he was the son of the late W. Ralph and Clara E. Roberts Smith.
He was a 1948 graduate of Warfordsburg High School.
He was employed by the Dixie Stave Co., Artemas. He retired as Union Township supervisor, where he was employed from 1978 to 1996.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a member of American Legion William McKinley Smith Post of Artemas.
He is survived by one son, Donald James Smith of Artemas; one stepdaughter, Linda Lou Roberts of Hancock; four sisters, Mary Smith of Transfer, Pa., Pauline Mearkle and Betty Rice, both of Clearville, Pa., Norma Jean Marbey of Greenville, Pa. and Edna Fisher of Fort Loudon, Pa.; four brothers, Wayne A. Smith of Fort Loudon, Richard G. Smith of Clearville, George E. Smith of Flintstone, Md., and Calvin L. Smith of Artemas; two step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Fairview Christian Church. The Rev. Merle Horton will officiate. Burial, with military graveside honors by American Legion Post of Artemas, will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call today from 4 to 9 p.m. at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, Pa. Friends may also call on Sunday one hour prior to the services at the church.

Clyde L. Brown
BOONSBORO - Clyde Leon Brown, 84, of Reeders Memorial Home, and formerly of 18819 Preston Road, Hagerstown, died Saturday, March 22, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 25, 1912, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Charles Franklin and Grace McKee Brown.
He was employed by the Potomac Edison Co.
He was a member of Haven Lutheran Church.
He also was a member of BPO Elks, 378.
He is survived by his wife, Frances E. Kelley Brown of Boonsboro; one daughter, Patricia Brown of Silver Spring, Md., and four grandchildren.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
There will be no viewing.

Samuel K. Williams
BALTIMORE - Samuel Kermit Williams, 81, of Baltimore, died Wednesday, March 19, 1997.
Born Sept. 19, 1915, in Big Springs, he was the son of the late Charles and Bertha Hall Williams.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Branch.
He graduated from North Street High School, Hagerstown.
He was employed by the Housing Authority of Baltimore City.
He was a member of Asbury Methodist Church, Hagerstown. He also was a member of Ames United Methodist Church, Baltimore.
He is survived by one daughter, Gloria Williams Robb of Columbia, Md.; one son, Kermit Williams of Glen Burnie, Md.; one sister, Evelyn Duke of Hagerstown; one brother, Melvin Williams of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and five grandchildren.
Arrangements were by Joseph L. Russ Funeral Homes, Baltimore.
Flossie A.D. Ambrose
SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Flossie Ann Dodson Ambrose, 84, of Shenandoah Junction, died Friday, April 4, 1997, at Care Haven of Berkeley, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Aug. 3, 1912, in Stanley, Va., she was the daughter of the late Luther W. and Vender Jenkins Burcker.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hubert L. Dodson on Aug. 13, 1970 and her second husband, George Ambrose on Sept. 18, 1990.
She had worked at the Byrd's Cannery, Berryville, Va., for 12 years. She also had been a homemaker.
She was a member of Leetown Baptist Church, Leetown, W.Va.
She is survived by seven daughters, Elizabeth Slusher, Martha Wilt and Margaret Mills, all of Ranson, W.Va., Vanda Gaynor and Joyce Seal, both of Charles Town, W.Va., Janice Slaughter of Leetown, W.Va. and Mary E. Boyer of Shenandoah Junction; three sons, Floyd E.J. Dodson of Millville, W.Va., Hubert W. Dodson and Taylor Dodson, both of Inwood, W.Va.; four brothers, Walter Burcker and Lewis Burcker, both of Kearneysville, W.Va., Lawrence Burcker of Hagerstown and Joseph Burcker of Falling Waters, W.Va.; 37 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one son, Herbert M. Dodson and four brothers, Nathan Burcker, Melvin Burcker, Archie Burcker and Elvis Burcker.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. The Rev. Wyman Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.
Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Theda G. Norris
Theda Gail Norris, 78, formerly of 11 West Baltimore St., Hagerstown, died Friday, April 4, 1997, at Western Maryland Hospital Center.
Born Oct. 30, 1918, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Hester Cullers Tamkin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Norris in 1985.
She had been employed by the Federal Silk Mill, Williamsport.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She was a member of AARP.
She is survived by two nieces; two grandnieces and two grandnephews.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate.
There will be no viewing.

Rayetta M. Ullum
Rayetta Mae Ullum, 90, of 605 West Washington St., Hagerstown, died, Thursday, April 3, 1997, at Avalon Manor Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 26, 1906, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Winton Eric and Annie Victoria Monninger Lapole.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Ullum.
She retired from the Hagerstown Shoe Co.
She was of the Brethren faith.
She is survived by two sons, Harold N. Aycoth and Thomas J. Ullum Jr., both of Hagerstown; one brother, Russell M. Lapole of Hagerstown; three granddaughters; one grandson and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Janice I. Murray.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery. The Rev. John C. Hoffman will officiate.

Joseph H. Blank
MYERSVILLE, Md. - Joseph Henry Blank, 77, of Myersville, died Friday, April 4, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 24, 1919, in Frederick County, Md., he was the son of the late Charles and Emma Miss Blank.
He was employed by Roper-Eastern Products. He had also worked with Avis Rental Car; H.L. Mills Service Station; D.A. Stickell & Sons and Statton Furniture during World War II.
He was a member of Greenbriar Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Miller Paden Blank; one daughter, Judy Davis of Oak Hill, W.Va.; one son, John Paden of Springfield, Va.; one sister, Lottie Mobley of Frederick; one grandson; two granddaughters; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Smith and Nora Korrell and two brothers, Harold Blank and Charles Blank.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. David L. Coblentz will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
