Louella J. K. Reed
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Louella J. Kauffman Reed, 71, of 10800 Country Club Rd., died Friday, Dec. 6, 1996, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born in Quincy Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John W. and Beulah Elizabeth Monn Kauffman.
She lived her early life in the Mont Alto, Pa., area.
She married her husband, Edmond M. "Ed" Reed Sr., on Sept. 22, 1944.
He preceded her in death on April 12, 1995.
She was employed by the Mont Alto Shirt Factory; Hess Manufacturing in Quincy, Pa., and Connie's Sportswear, Waynesboro, where she was a seamstress.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by one daughter, Pamela S. Mitchell of Rouzerville, Pa.; two sons, Edmond M. Reed Jr. of Mont Alto and John W. Reed of Waynesboro; two brothers, Douglas R. Kauffman of Waynesboro, and Charles R. Kauffman of Fox Hill, Pa.; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great-grandson; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lola M. Dawson
MCCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Lola M. Dawson, 91, of McConnellsburg, and formerly of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Saturday, Dec. 7, 1996, at the home of her daughter, Anne Marie Richards.
Born July 19, 1905, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Richard M. and Ida Widmyer Henry.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph William Waugh in 1929 and her second husband, Charles E. Dawson in 1970.
She had been employed by the former Interwoven Mills in Berkeley Springs.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Berkeley Springs.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by one stepdaughter, Marie Valentine of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one stepson, James Dawson; and two brothers, Lester Henry and Harry Henry.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 106 S. Mercer St., Berkeley Springs.
The Rev. David Carroll will officiate.
Burial will be in Greenway Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.
Viewing will be held Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Richard V. Barger
BOONSBORO - Richard Vernon Barger, 67, of 28 High St., died Saturday, Dec. 7, 1996, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 10, 1929, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late James and Helen Shank Barger.
He was a painter.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of VFW Post 1936.
He is survived by his companion, Lillian Moser of Boonsboro; three daughters, Karen Wiley, Donna Showe and Diane Deener, all of Hagerstown; four sons, Dennis Barger of Williamsport, Robert Barger and David Barger, both of Hagerstown and Richard Barger II of Keedysville; two sisters, Belle Kroboth and Catherine Barnhart, both of Hagerstown; one brother, Haymor Barger of Hagerstown; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Richard Barger III.
Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

Donald J. Sharff
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Donald Joseph Sharff, 68, of Route 3, died Friday, Dec. 6, 1996, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born Feb. 26, 1928, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Laura Belle Kisner Sharff.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, E. Frances Sharff and his second wife, Goldie Sharff.
He was employed by Eagle School Auto Parts; was the owner and operator of Sharff Electric and Plumbing and in 1994 retired from the Berkeley County Court.
He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
He also was a member of Martinsburg Lodge 120, Loyal Order of Moose; was a York Rite Mason; a member of Equality Lodge No. 44, A. F. & A. M.; Lebanon Chapter 2, R. A. M.; and Palestine Commandry 2, Knights Templar.
He is survived by three daughters, Gena M. Morrison, Mary Pat Slayman and Christina M. Sharff, all of Martinsburg; two sons, Jerry L. Morrison of Martinsburg and Donald J. Sharff II of Sturgis, S.D.; three sisters, Frances Barthlow, Dorothy Chambers, both of Martinsburg and Gail Greenfield; one brother, Paul Sharff of Martinsburg; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul C. Stanley officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Aretta H. C. Fairfax
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Aretta H. Cave Fairfax, 88, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Dec. 6, 1996, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born March 3, 1908, in Blueridge, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Rebecca McDougal.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Cave in 1972 and her second husband, Clyde Fairfax.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by one daughter with whom she resided, Rebecca Nadenbousch; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Dorothy Emery and Edith Shriver; three sons, Fred Cave, James Cave and Willard S. Cave; three sisters; one brother; and two grandchildren, Craig Shriver and David Emery.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Donald L. Preston officiating.
Burial will be in the Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charles P. Fouke Jr.
Charles Preston Fouke Jr., 71, of 19835 Bennie Drive, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 1996, at his home.
Born Feb. 18, 1925, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Charles P. and Mae B. Davis Fouke Sr.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Forsyth Fouke, in 1991.
He retired from Conrail Railroad after 43 years of service.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II and the Korean War.
He was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
He also was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42.
He is survived by one daughter, Ola Vee Jones of Hagerstown; two sons, Charles P. Fouke III of Eldersburg, Md., and Jay A. Fouke of Bluffton, S.C.; one sister, Mary Virginia Harman of Hagerstown; three brothers, John R. Fouke, Richard E. Fouke and Nevin L. Fouke, all of Hagerstown; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
The Rev. Martin Rudolph will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
