Rodger L. Deal
BERRYVILLE, Va. - Rodger Lee Deal, 53, of 225 Chalmers Court, Apt. 3D, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 1996, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Washington, D.C.
Born March 21, 1943, in Clearbrook, Va., he was the son of the late George Washington "Buck" and Louise Jenkins Deal.
He was a firefighter in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years.
He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 694, Hagerstown.
He is survived by one daughter, Debra Leigher of Greenville, S.C.; three sisters, Margaret L. Snyder of Hagerstown, Elinor J. Boyce of Winchester, Va., and Patricia A. Baker of Stephenson, Va.; and one brother, Glenn W. Deal of Boyce, Va.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville. The Rev. Dwight L. Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Va. Military honors will be given by the Clarke County Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Elaine P. Noll
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Elaine Patterson "Pat" Noll, 69, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 1996, at St. Catherine's Nursing Center, Emmitsburg, Md.
Born Aug. 24, 1927, in Fort Wayne, Ind., she was the daughter of the late John and Grace Coffinberger Patterson.
She was a 1945 graduate of Martinsburg High School.
She retired from the Berkeley County Tax Office.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters.
She is survived by her husband, Vincent P. Noll; three daughters, Ann M. Smallwood, Marcia L. Noll and Melissa S. Warner, all of Martinsburg; two sons, Lawrence P. Noll and Jeffrey M. Noll, both of Martinsburg; one sister, Virginia Crumbacker of San Diego; eight grandchildren; and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Thomas Noll, and one sister, Lucy Paterson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Rev. John V. DiBacco Jr. will be celebrant. Burial prayers will be recited at Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.
The family will receive friends at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg, today from 7 to 9 p.m. A vigil service will be held at 7:45 p.m.

The family will meet at the church prior to the service on Saturday.
Frances B. Proctor
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Frances B. Proctor, 78, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 1996, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born Oct. 30, 1918, in Mineral County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Dailey P. and Dunie F. High Whitacre.
She was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charles H. Proctor Sr.; four daughters, Doris J. Griffith of Joppa, Md., Evelyn L. Loudan of Bunker Hill, W.Va., Carol L. Clark of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Constance A. Olszewski of New Freedom, Pa.; three sons, Norman "Wayne" Proctor Sr. and Donald E. Proctor, both of Martinsburg, and Charles H. Proctor Jr. of Baltimore; three sisters, Dorothy W. McDonald, Hilda Grove, and Betty L. Young, all of Martinsburg; two brothers, Herman J. Whitacre of Conway, S.C., and Junior C. Whitacre of Bunker Hill; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth Frances Brant, and one sister, Louetta Jane Whitacre.
Services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. David Mehalko will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.

George C. Habicht
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - George C. Habicht, 73, of 14078 Mar Penn Ave., died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 1996, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born Jan. 25, 1923, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Paul and Elizabeth Jungblut Habicht.
He graduated from high school in Baltimore in 1941.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during World War II in the South Pacific with the Seabees.
He later was in the civil service as a supervisor of the warehouse for Edgewood Arsenal at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Aberdeen, Md., retiring after more than 35 years of government service.
He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rouzerville, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine G. Miller Habicht, whom he married June 13, 1947; one son, Jeffrey F. Habicht of Hedgesville, W.Va.; one brother, Paul Habicht of Glenarm, Md.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Poellinger.
Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Hawley Memorial Presbyterian Church, Blue Ridge Summit, Pa. The Rev. Robert S. Edmundson will officiate. Burial will be in the Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.

Joseph H. Miller
HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Joseph H. Miller, 82, of Shannondale, Harpers Ferry, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 1996, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born July 15, 1914, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Frank S. and Lillia Deasel Miller.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sallie Knight Miller, on March 16, 1994.
He was employed by General Motors, Baltimore, until his retirement after many years of service.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Charles Town, W.Va.
He also was a member of Loyal Order of Moose 948, Charles Town.
He is survived by one niece, Margaret Ann Cunningham of Destin, Fla., and one nephew, Peter E. Knight III of Sabillasville, Md.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Agusta Miller, on Aug. 8, 1994.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home. The Rev. Bert Valdes will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery, Carroll County, Md.
There will be no visitation.
Marlin D. Lehman
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Rev. Marlin D. Lehman, 72, of 3301 Anthony Highway, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 1996, as a result of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident in Guilford, Pa.
Born Aug. 14, 1924, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Jacob R. and Salome Ebersole Lehman.
He was employed as a zone leader and field manager by Furst-McNess Co., Feeport, Ill., retiring in 1986 after 19 years of service. He also was a farmer and worked part time at Nevin's Furniture in Greencastle, Pa.
He was a member of Pond Bank Mennonite Church, Pond Bank, Pa., where he was a Sunday school teacher. He had been pastor of the church for 24 years, retiring in 1983.
He was involved in church planning at Fairview Chapel, Waynesboro, Pa., and Living Faith Chapel, Shippensburg, Pa., where he also taught Sunday school. He served as interim pastor at Mt. Zion Mennonite Church, Boonsboro; Cedar Grove Mennonite Church, Greencastle, Pa.; and Diller Mennonite Church, Newville, Pa.
He was a member of the Full Gospel Business Mens Fellowship, where he had served as an officer; a member of the AARP; former chaplain at the Chambersburg Hospital and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels in Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine E. Burkholder Lehman, whom he married Oct. 14, 1945; five daughters, C. Louise Ervin, Nancy Kuhns, Wilma Wadel and Brenda Eby, all of Chambersburg, and Darlene Detweiler of Orrstown, Pa.; one sister, Anna Lehman of Willow Street, Pa.; two brothers, John Lehman of Chambersburg and Virgil Lehman of Fayetteville, Pa.; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Marlin Lee Lehman, five sisters and four brothers.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Chambersburg Mennonite Church, 1800 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Roger I. Martin, the Rev. Menno B. Sollenberger and the Rev. Charles A. Ness will officiate. Burial will be in Chambersburg Mennonite Cemetery, Chambersburg.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. Friends also may call one hour prior to the service at the church.

Vernon C. Hines Jr.
THURMONT, Md. - Vernon "Bud" Columbus Hines Jr., 68, of Apples Church Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 1996, at his home.
Born Jan. 17, 1928, in Libertytown, Md., he was the son of the late Vernon C. and Lydia Ann Beall Hines Sr.
He ran a farm in Rocky Ridge for 31 years. Prior to that he worked for Fairchild Industries as a machinist for 10 years.
He was an avid card player and enjoyed making wooden toys for his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret "Pat" Long Hines; one daughter, Vivian Ewell of Thurmont; two sons, Michael Hines of Mt. Airy, Md., and Russell Hines of Thurmont; five sisters, Mary Richardson and Annabel Kline, both of Frederick, Md., Mable McDonald of Florida, Dorothy Wojan of Michigan and Pauline Davis of North Carolina; three brothers, Kenneth Hines and Thomas Hines, both of Woodsboro, Md., and George Hines of Union Bridge, Md.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont. The Rev. Elza Hurst will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 1 p.m.

Margaret E. Shipp
Margaret E. Shipp, 97, of 200 Avon Road, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 1996, at her home.
Born Jan. 11, 1899 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William S. and Mary D. Means Pague.
Her husband, Ray Shipp, died in 1960.
She and her husband owned and operated Shipps Seafood on Summit Avenue for many years.
She was a member of First Brethren Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Marjorie E. Sears of Hagerstown; one sister, Florence Clopper of Chambersburg, Pa.; and one brother, William Pague of Hagerstown.
Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. J. Norman Mayer will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
