Mildred L. Keller
BOONSBORO - Mildred L. "Mickey" Keller, 87, a resident of Reeders Memorial Home, and formerly of 613 Washington Ave., Hagerstown, died Thursday, April 10, 1997, at the nursing home.
Born Aug. 13, 1909, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lizzie Barkdoll Kline.
Her husband, Earl Saum Keller, died in 1994.
She was a member of First Christian Church. She was a member of Pythian Sisters and a bowling league.
She is survived by two daughters, Marsha A. Massey and Carolyn M. McSherry, both of Hagerstown; four sons, Larry E. Keller and Stephen D. Keller, both of Hagerstown, Alan L. Keller of Inwood, W.Va., and Curtis B. Keller of State Line, Pa.; one brother, Ralph J. Kline of Illinois; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Nellie Baker, Edna Stottlemyer and Lizzie Flanagan; and three brothers, Paul Kline, Charles Kline and Sherman Kline.
Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Fred Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
John B. Mowen
John B. Mowen, 71, of Hagerstown, died Friday, April 11, 1997, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village in Hagerstown.
Born Jan. 6, 1926, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Alvey Willis Mowen and Elizabeth Viola Eakle Mowen Gallion. He was stepson of the late Marshall William Gallion Sr.
He was employed as a truck driver, retiring in 1986.
A World War II veteran, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a member of Broadfording Church of God in Hagerstown.
He was a former member of Funkstown American Legion Post 211 in Funkstown.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, boating and bowling.
He is survived by his wife of more than 37 years, Imogene H. Mowen; two sisters, Sarah "Sally" Farris of Hagerstown, and Doris Gallion Farris of Cumberland, Md.; and four brothers, Alvey R. Mowen, Robert "Bill" E. Mowen Sr. and Kenneth E. Mowen, all of Hagerstown, and Marshall "Sonny" W. Gallion of Clear Spring.
He was preceded in death by one son, Andrew Mowen; one sister, Betty Jane Bussard; and one brother, Roger W. Mowen.
Services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. William C. Crowe will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Clarence H. Wolfrey Sr.
CROSS JUNCTION, Va. - Clarence Haywood Wolfrey Sr., 73, of Cross Junction, died Friday, April 11, 1997, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born May 18, 1923, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Fleet Ward and Anna Snyder Wolfrey.
His wife, Irene M. Wolfrey, died in 1992.
He attended public schools in Baltimore. He was a retired farmer and automobile mechanic.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army.
He was of the Methodist faith.
He was a member of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post 60 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
He is survived by one daughter, Anna M. Crouse of Cross Junction; three sons, Clarence H. Wolfrey Jr. of Cross Junction, John Wolfrey of Berkeley Springs, and Stanley I. Wolfrey of Winchester, Va.; one stepdaughter, Nancy Sharpe of Connecticut; two stepsons, John Gregor of Coatesville, Pa., and Donald Schell of Winchester; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Mount Hebron Cemetery in Winchester.

Cecelia E. Morgan
WILLIAMSPORT - Cecelia Elizabeth Morgan, 86, of 16505 Virginia Ave., died Friday, April 11, 1997, at Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport.
Born July 3, 1910, in Oakland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bessie Littman Lawton Sr.
Her husband, Lee Williamson Morgan, died in 1962.
She was employed as a secretary for Washington County Board of Education until her retirement in 1976. She was previously employed with Potomac Edison.
She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Williamsport.
She also was a member of Retired Teachers Association and was a volunteer with American Red Cross and Washington County Hospital.
She is survived by one sister, Virginia Lawton of Washington, D.C.; one brother, John Lawton of Annapolis, Md.; 14 nieces and nephews; and 16 great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Lewis Lawton, Arthur Lawton Jr., Kenneth Lawton and Robert Lawton.
There will be no public viewing.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 10813 Donelson Drive, Williamsport. The Rev. Mark A. Sandell will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Elsie M.W. Rock
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Elsie Marie Wagaman Rock, 81, of 372 Laurel Lane, and formerly of Hagerstown and Waldorf, Md., died Thursday, April 10, 1997, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born Dec. 27, 1915, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Harry M. Sr. and Lucy Jane Rosenberger Wagaman.
Her husband, Victor E. Rock Sr., died in 1988. They were married in December 1934.
She lived with her daughter and son-in-law for the past 10 years.
She was employed as a machine operator for a number of years with Waynesboro Knitting Mill, and then worked at South Mountain Restoration Center. She was last employed as a waitress and cook for various restaurants in the area.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fairview Ward, Waynesboro, where she served in the primary organization for 25 years and 19 years as president. She also was a visiting teacher for the church for many years, and served as the church magazine representative.
She also was a member of National AARP.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon L. Bennett of Waynesboro; two sons, Victor E. Rock Jr. of Waldorf, and Gary W. Rock of Lawrenceville, Ga.; six sisters, Alice Kreitz of Hagerstown, Margaret Land of Cleveland, Ohio, Ella Mae Hebb of Waynesboro, Delores Gee of Franklin, Ind., Betty Provard of Mont Alto, Pa., and Joyce Bingaman of Chambersburg, Pa.; three brothers, Harry Wagaman Jr. of Greencastle, Pa., Lester Eugene Wagaman of Odenton, Md., and Ralph Wagaman of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, William Wagaman.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 11887 Mentzer Gap Road, Waynesboro. Bishop R. Eugene Hurley will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Quincy, Pa.

Elizabeth H. Leppert
WILLIAMSPORT - Elizabeth Helena Leppert, 91, formerly of Ellen Street, New Brunswick, N.J., died Saturday, April 12, 1997, at Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport.
Born Aug. 9, 1905, in Easton, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Frank Yeager and Catherine Weber Yeager Gates.
Her husband, Edward Leppert, died in 1969.
She was employed with Johnson and Johnson, retiring after 20 years of service.
She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, and a past member of Sacred Heart Church in New Brunswick.
She is survived by three daughters, Doris deLumeau of Hagerstown, Ethel Sutton of Somerset, N.J., and Betty Brill of East Brunswick; two sons, Edward Leppert of Somerset, and William Leppert of Wayne, N.J.; one half-brother, Robert Gates of Nevada; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Benhardt and Isabella Arner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Edward J. Manalis as celebrant.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at St. Peters Cemetery in New Brunswick.

Edith P.M. James
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Edith Pearl McDonald James, 97, of Martinsburg, died Friday, April 11, 1997, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born June 21, 1899, in Green Spring, Frederick County, Va., she was the daughter of the late John Edgar and Florence Emily Ashton McDonald.
Her husband, Russell Hoyt James, died in 1959.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Independent Bible Church.
She was a life-long Democrat, and represented the Arden District for 10 years on the Democratic Executive Committee.
During World War II, she worked with the Berkeley County Red Cross.
She was a member of Salvation Army Auxiliary, W.C.T.U., and Newton D. Baker Paraplegic Association.
She provided room and board for many business and professional people moving into Martinsburg and needing a temporary residence.
She is survived by one daughter, Frances Biedler of Martinsburg; two grandchildren, Russell A. Biedler of Gerrardstown, W.Va., and Beth Rotz of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; six great-grandsons; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Minnie A. Dorsey; and one brother, J. Wesley McDonald.
Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. Mark D. Johnson, pastor, and Lester A. Kisner, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

James O. Taylor
INWOOD, W.Va. - James Oden Taylor, 75, of Tabler Station Road, died Saturday, April 12, 1997, at his home.
He was the son of the late Charles Monroe and Edna Katherine Rogers Taylor.
He was a 30-year employee of B&O/C&O Railroad, retiring from the local maintenance and way shops in 1982 as a crane operator.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving with the U.S. Army of Occupation in Germany, Headquarters Battery, 1st Division Artillery, from 1945-46.
He was a member of Martinsburg (W.Va.) Planning and Zoning Commission for many years.
He was an ordained high priest of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in a number of leadership roles in the Martinsburg chapel, including high priest, leader and member of the bishoprie, elders president and Sunday school president, and was a member of the church's home teaching program.
He was an avid bowler, and won a National Singles Championship in Columbis, Ohio, in 1970. He continued bowling until January.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Phyllis M. Salyards Taylor; five children, William Douglas Taylor and Ronald T. Taylor, both of Inwood, Jeanne Taylor Alexander of Winchester, Va., Debi Taylor Hanlin of Hagerstown, and Robert C. Taylor of Martinsburg; one brother, John Monroe Taylor of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Marie and Laura Belle Taylor.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Martinsburg Chapel of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1050 Lovelace Way, Martinsburg. A brief burial service, including military honors will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church one hour prior to the service Tuesday.
