Sylvester S. Golden
HANCOCK - Sylvester S. "Sy" Golden, 57, of Tollgate Ridge Road, died Wednesday, April 16, 1997, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born Nov. 29, 1939, in Warfordsburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Jerry and Ida Mary Gordon Golden.
He was a self-employed farmer. He was employed by Bernard Truax Service Station, Hancock, for 25 years. He transported Fleetwood Travel Trailers for 28 years.
He was a racehorse owner for 35 years.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a member of the Charles Town Horsemans Association.
He is survived by his wife, Melinda B. Barnhart Golden, whom he married Feb. 22, 1969; one daughter, Sara A. Golden, at home; one son, Bernard M. Golden, at home; eight sisters, Margaret Mellott, Mary Gray and Florence Ruppenthal, all of Needmore, Pa., Opal Morse of Everett, Pa., Edith Shaw of McConnellsburg, Pa., Barbara Young of Breezewood, Pa., Nancy McCarty and Rachel Snyder, both of Hancock; four brothers, George Golden of Falling Waters, W.Va., Gerald Golden, Richard Golden and Raymond Golden, all of Warfordsburg, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church. The Rev. F. Allan Weatherholt Jr. and Pastor George Lashley will officiate. Burial will be in Rehobeth United Methodist Cemetery, near Hancock.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Angie A. DeHaven
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Angie A. DeHaven, 92, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, April 16, 1997, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born April 11, 1905, in Weirton, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William and Isa Darr Santmier.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin DeHaven.
She was employed by Interwoven until her retirement.
She was a member of the Winchester Avenue Christian Church.
She is survived twin grandchildren, Vicki Mazzocco of Springfield, Va., and Rick Lunglhofer of Charles Town, W.Va.; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Beatrice Mae Lunglhofer; and one sister, Dolly Shook.
Services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Douglas J. Hollida will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.
The family will receive friends Sunday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
David V. Antalec
David Vladimir Antalec, 54, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, April 15, 1997, at his home.
He was born Dec. 11, 1942.
He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, Texas.
He retired from the U.S. Army on Sept. 1, 1984, with 23 years of service.
He was then employed with the Department of Labor in Washington, D.C., in the area of veterans' reemployment rights.
He is survived by one son, Michael David Antalec of the Bahamas; and one sister, Michelle Antalec of Chattanooga, Tenn.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. The Rev. Loyal Vanderveer will officiate.
There will be no viewing.

Alice G.W. Thompson
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Alice G. Whipp Thompson, 73, of 303 Fairview Ave., who died Wednesday, April 16, 1997, was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. "R.T." Thompson Sr., on April 8, 1992. They were married Aug. 7, 1940.
Barry M. Cunningham
WILLIAMSPORT - Barry M. "Rick" Cunningham, 48, of 10525 Greenwich Drive, died Wednesday, April 16, 1997, near his home.
Born May 16, 1948, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Lawrence Marvin and Kathryn Viola Martin Cunningham.
He served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army with the 14th Bdc., 25th Infantry Division. He was a recipient of two Purple Hearts, Republic of Vietnam Campaign and Vietnam Service Medals.
He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Sue Rock Cunningham of Williamsport; one daughter, Karrie Sue Hawbaker, at home; one sister, Lois Ann Hawbaker of Hagerstown; and three brothers, Larry M. "Butch" Cunningham of Hagerstown, Robert I. "Bob" Cunningham of Portage, Pa., and George M. Cunningham of Williamsport.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Lee Strong.
Friends may call at the Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. on Saturday for the convenience of family and friends.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Judy L. Clark
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Judy Lee Clark, 54, of Route 4, died Thursday, April 17, 1997, at her home.
Born Feb. 16, 1943, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late David B. and Gloria Yontz Miller Sr.
She was a 1962 graduate of Martinsburg High School.
She was employed by Perfection Garment Co. for 15 years. She worked for six years at Pleasant View Memory Gardens. She was also employed by her father at Tri-County Processing Plant.
She is survived by her husband, Ward P. Clark; one daughter, Roxanna L. Caniford at home; and three brothers, Terry L. Miller, David B. Miller Jr. and Richard W. Miller Sr., all of Martinsburg.
Services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
George C. Whittington
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - George Cliffton Whittington, 44, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, April 16, 1997, in Martinsburg.
Born July 2, 1952, in Martinsburg, he was the son of Hazel I. Kackley Whittington of Martinsburg and the late William R. Whittington.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, George Cliffton Jr. of Martinsburg; three brothers, Douglas Whittington of Inwood, W.Va., Roger Whittington and Ronald Whittington, both of Martinsburg; two half sisters, Diana Gregory of Martinsburg and Karen Walters of Africa; one half brother, Lonnie Gregory of Martinsburg; and a close friend, Patricia Deaner of Martinsburg.
He was preceded in death by one half brother, Charles Anthony Gregory.
Services and burial will be private.

Edgar N. Tice
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Edgar N. Tice, 84, of 210-D Menno Village, died Thursday, April 17, 1997, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born July 24, 1912, in New Franklin, Pa., he was the son of the late Edgar S. and Ruth E. Norton Tice.
He was a retired civil service employee of Letterkenny Army Depot and Depot Systems Command with 30 years of service. He owned and operated the White Swan Motel, Fayetteville, Pa., from 1957 to 1964.
He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Fayetteville.
He was past president of Letterkenny Gun Club. He was a life member of Good Will Fire Co. 3 of Chambersburg; National Association of Retired Federal Employees and local chapter 1063; a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, Chapter 1507, Chambersburg; Kittochitinny Historical Society; BPO Elks Lodge 600, Chambersburg and Coyle Free Library, Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Eyer Tice, whom he married Aug. 16, 1930; two daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" Shipp of Chambersburg and Joanne Paine of Chambersburg; one son, Robert N. Tice of Pasadena, Md.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, one sister and one brother.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. John L. Rauch will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
