Edith S.O. Noll
WAYNE, Pa. - Edith Susan Oller Noll, 97, of 626 Brookside Ave., died Friday, April 18, 1997, at her home.
Born July 8, 1899, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry B. and Zaidee Sprenkle Oller.
She lived her early life in the Waynesboro area, then moved to Philadelphia, Norristown, Pa., and Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Noll, in 1968.
She graduated from high school.
She is survived by two sisters, Rello B. Oller of Wayne and Zaidee S. Bartle of Waynesboro; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lelia Decker and Alma G. McKean; and two brothers, Ernest Oller and Herman Oller.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
Pastor Robert D. Cahill will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
Richard J. Norkunas
BOONSBORO - Richard Joseph Norkunas, 50, of 19134 Swinging Bridge Road, died Saturday, April 19, 1997, near his home.
Born Oct. 6, 1946, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., he was the son of Sophie Plenski Norkunas of Ashley, Pa., and the late Francis Norkunas.
He was a graduate of the University of Baltimore, Coppin State College in Baltimore and Johns Hopkins University.
He was employed by Maryland State Department of Education as a teacher and administrator at the Maryland Correctional Institute near Hagerstown.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Boonsboro.
He was active in developing special educational and testing programs for correctional facilities in Maryland.
He had chaired the Adult Basic Education Curriculum Committee for Correctional Education in Maryland.
He had received the Spirit of Correctional Education Award.
He was a member of Washington County Sportsman's Association, Maryland Classified Employees Association and Johns Hopkins Alumni Association.
He was an avid sportsman and gardener.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Eileen Wildes Norkunas, whom he married on Aug. 1, 1970; two sons, Ethan R. Norkunas and Matthew W. Norkunas, both at home; one sister, Rose Handzo of Rockaway, N.J., and Mountaintop, Pa.; one brother, Francis Norkunas of Ashley; and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church at the corner of Main and Ford streets, Boonsboro.
The Rev. George A. Limmer will be celebrant.
A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, today from 7 to 9 p.m., where a Christian prayer service will be held at 8:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Bruce E. Matteson, 37, of Jefferson Boulevard, Hagerstown, who died Monday, April 14, 1997, is survived by a maternal grandmother, Nora Eakle of Latrobe, Pa.

Chester G. Holmes, 72, of 13 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, who died Saturday, April 19, 1997, at Homewood Retirement Center, Williamsport, is survived by a daughter, Victoria L. Davis of Crystal Springs, Fla., and 11 grandchildren.
David T. Munson
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - David T. Munson, 64, of Route 3, Cherry Run Road, died Monday, April 21, 1997, at his home.
Born June 24, 1932, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Elder Theodore and Mother Anna Mae Jackson Munson.
He retired in 1976 from LTV Corp. in Martinsburg, W.Va., as a welder.
He was formerly employed by Fairchild Industries in Hagerstown.
He worked as a builder and was owner/operator of Munson's Mobile Home Park in Cherry Run, W.Va.
He later became active in real estate investments.
He was a lifelong member and active senior deacon with the Supreme Council of The House of Jacob Inc. in Hancock.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol Virginia Risinger-Munson; five daughters, Cynthia Dempsey, Deborah Murphy and Angela Shade, all of Hedgesville, Brenda Westwood of Morgantown, W.Va., and Alice Wilt of St. Thomas, Pa.; three sons, David Munson and Michael Munson, both of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Phillip Munson of Hedgesville; two sisters, Doris Davis of Safety Harbor, Fla., and Joy Lee Peoples of Williamsport; two brothers, Lawrence Munson of Safety Harbor and Joseph Munson of Middletown, Md.; 25 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Kimberly Munson.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Supreme Council of The House of Jacob Inc., Hancock.
Bishop K. Paul Bowers will officiate.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church 30 minutes prior to the service Thursday.
For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Evelyn I. Liston
WILLIAMSPORT - Evelyn Irene "Ted" Liston, 90, of 28 S. Conococheague St., who died Saturday, April 19, 1997, also was preceded in death by two sisters, Genevieve Young and Minnie Wolfe; and a brother, Frank Pryor.
Jerry J. Eshbaugh Jr.
BRUNSWICK, Md. - Jerry James Eshbaugh Jr., 80, of 202 Seventh Ave., died Sunday, April 20, 1997, at Loudoun Hospital Center, Leesburg, Va., of leukemia.
Born June 29, 1916, in Marionville, Pa., he was the son of the late Jerry James Eshbaugh Sr. and Bessie Ruckman Eshbaugh.
He was employed as a milkman for Souder and Chick Dairy for 20 years.
He was an agent for Nationwide Insurance Co. for 12 years.
He also was a brakeman for B&O/Chessie System railroad for 10 years, retiring in 1981.
He enlisted in U.S. Marine Corps in 1936 and was stationed in Quantico, Va., where he became a member of the Quantico Marine Band.
He was a member of the original Marine Drum and Bugle Corps.
He also was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy for two years.
He received his early music training from the Salvation Army in his hometown of Kane, Pa.
When he moved to Brunswick, he performed with several area bands, including The Rohrersville Band, The Tall Cedars Band of Hagerstown, The Yellow Springs Band of Yellow Springs and Hagerstown Municipal Band.
He was an accomplished trombonist and featured soloist at many concerts.
He retired from the trombone in 1963.
In 1990, he resumed his musical career with Rohrersville Band, Yellow Springs Community Band and Harmony Cornet Band.
He was a past member of Brunswick Town Council.
He was a member of Brunswick Recreation Commission.
He was a 50-year member of Brunswick Lodge 191 A.F.&A.M. and Chapter 97 O.E.S.
He was a 50-year member of Post 96 American Legion and served for 25 years as the honor guard bugler
He was honored for being the oldest living member of Quantico Marine Band in 1996.
He was recognized as a Good Neighbor by the City of Brunswick.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen Louise Thompson Eshbaugh; one daughter, Donna Harding of Knoxville, Md.; five sons, Jerry James Eshbaugh III, Bill Eshbaugh, Michael Eshbaugh, Joe Eshbaugh and Kenny Eshbaugh, all of Brunswick; one sister, Violet; one brother, Howard; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick.
