Linda L.T. Wahler
WILLIAMSPORT - Linda Lee Toms Wahler, 53, of Milestone Garden Apartments, died Saturday, April 26, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 2, 1944, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Bernard L. and Marilyn L. Kennedy Toms.
She was a member of Paramount Brethren In Christ Church, Hagerstown.
She was a member of Ladies of Elks Lodge 378.
She is survived by her husband, John R. Wahler; one daughter, Michele Wahler Selby of Suffolk, Va.; two sons, John M. Wahler of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Jeffery S. Wahler of Hagerstown; two brothers, Gary L. Toms and Jerry A. Toms, both of Hagerstown; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Paula Jean Toms; and one brother, Donald E. "Sharkey" Toms.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. James R. Stauffer will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Elmer L. Nave
Elmer Leroy Nave, 79, of 10823 Lincoln Ave., Hagerstown, died Friday, April 25, 1997, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Hagerstown.
Born July 2, 1917, in Pinesburg, he was the son of the late Alex Bradley and Ella May Teach Nave.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Wolfe Nave, in 1978.
He was employed as an electrician by Fairchild Aircraft Co. and retired in 1979.
He was a veteran of World War II and served with the U.S. Army.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
He was a member of Potomac Post 202 and the second Last Man's Club of the American Legion, Williamsport; and Local 842 UAW.
He is survived by one daughter, Jo Ann Burger of Hagerstown; one sister, Hazel Bear of Harrisonburg, Va.; one brother, Eugene Nave of Pinesburg; and one grandson.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. Ruth Rinker, vicar, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport. Military graveside services will be conducted by Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion, Hagerstown.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will open after 9 a.m. today for the convenience of family and friends.
Chester D. Roberts
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Chester D. Roberts, 93, of 234 S. Third St., died Saturday, April 26, 1997, at Franklin County Nursing Home, Guilford, Pa.
Born July 21, 1903, in Mercersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Stephen and Annie Brennaman Roberts.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes G. Miller Roberts, in 1974.
He was a self-employed mason contractor.
He was a veteran of World War II and served with the U.S. Army.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a life member of Burt J. Asper American Legion Post 46, Chambersburg; past Chef de Gar of Forty et. Eight American Legion; member of Loyal Order of Moose 761, Carlisle, Pa., and Hume McNeal Byers AMVETS Post 224, Chambersburg.
He is survived by one daughter, Kathryn F. Short of Hagerstown; two sons, Carl M. Roberts and James H. Roberts, both of Hagerstown; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; one nephew; and a devoted care giver, Daniel Poe of Chambersburg.
Services will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Herbert S. Busick Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. Military graveside services will be conducted by Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599, Chambersburg.
There will be no viewing; however, visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service Wednesday.
The family requests the omission of flowers.
Betty L. Rosenberry
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Betty L. Rosenberry, 68, of 218 Butternut Lane, died Saturday, April 26, 1997, at Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg, Pa.
Born Nov. 22, 1928, in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry G. and Mildred P. Little Reitzel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert H. Rosenberry, in 1988.
She was a member of Hope Street Mission, Chambersburg.
She was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Auxiliary 842, Chambersburg.
She is survived by two daughters, Saundra Atherton of Chambersburg and Arline Johnson of Hagerstown; three sons, Marvin E. Atherton and Randy L. Atherton, both of Chambersburg, and Edward T. Atherton of Fayetteville, Pa.; two stepdaughters, Janice Rosenberry of Canton, Ohio, and Patricia Horst of St. Thomas, Pa.; one stepson, Albert H. Rosenberry Jr. of Canton; one sister, Lois A. Heckman of Fayetteville; eight grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

Betty L. Dodd
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Betty Lee Dodd, 67, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, April 26, 1997, at her home.
Born March 8, 1930, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Carl F. and Elsie M. Sencindiver Cook Sr.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold C. Ashton; and her second husband, Russell C. Dodd.
She was employed by Nations Bank in Alexandria, Va.
She was a member of Pikeside United Methodist Church.
She was a member of Martinsburg Chapter 738 Women of the Moose and BPO Elks in Hagerstown.
She was one of the first female licensed pilots in West Virginia. She was a member of Civil Air Patrol.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol S. Easterday of Martinsburg and Donna Kaye Williams of Milford, Va.; two sons, H. Scott Ashton of Martinsburg and Glenn Lee Ashton of Alexandria; two sisters, Evelyn Hettenhouser of Hagerstown and Dorothy Miller of Smithsburg; one brother, Carl F. "Buddy" Cook Jr. of Pikeside, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Walter F. Bowers will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.

J. Guy Tosten Sr.
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - J. Guy Tosten Sr., 83, of 1694 Wilson Ave., died Saturday, April 26, 1997, in the emergency room of Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Oct. 3, 1913, in Kaslesville, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph H. and Rachel Long Tosten.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna L. Carryer Tosten, in 1992.
He was a 1933 graduate of Chambersburg High School.
He was a self-employed building contractor for 30 years in the Chambersburg area.
He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Chambersburg.
He served on the board of directors of Mechanics Building and Loan. He was elected in 1958 to The Salvation Army Advisory Board and served for 39 years, where he was honored as a life member in 1996.
He was a member of Junior Order United American Mechanics.
He is survived by one daughter, Joanne L. Hale of Fayetteville, Pa.; two sons, Joseph G. Tosten Jr. and Larry E. Tosten, both of Chambersburg; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, June Fadden of Chambersburg.
He was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
Services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Linda O. Eshelman will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Barbara Hoffmaster, 64, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, April 27, 1997, at her home.
Born Dec. 10, 1932, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Bertha Kilham Reynolds.
She was a textile inspector.
She was a member of First Church of God, Martinsburg.
She is survived by three daughters, Debbie Hammond of Ranson, W.Va., Sherry Peck of Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Cathy Nimphius of Frederick, Md.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Beulah and Russell Miller.
Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at First Church of God, Van Metre Avenue, Martinsburg. The Rev. Harold O. Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in Samples Manor Cemetery, Dargan.
The family will receive friends at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg, today from 7 to 9 p.m. The casket will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service Tuesday.

Kathleen M. Magaha
MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Kathleen Marie Magaha, 82, of 318 S. Church St., died Friday, April 25, 1997, at Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, N.C.
Born Oct. 18, 1914, in Dartmore, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Bridget Barnhill Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Magaha.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Community, Middletown.
She was a member of The Salvation Army, Frederick, Md., and Frederick Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen M. Hane of Waxhaw, N.C.; one sister, Veronica Morgan of Takoma Park, Md.; three grandchildren, Teresa Vogel of Ellicott City, Md., Michael Hane and John Hane, both of Charlotte; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Diana J. Bricker; many brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 7321 Burkittsville Road, Middletown. The Rev. John C. Moore will be celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
