Donald W. Reeder
BOONSBORO - Donald W. Reeder, 64, of 16 Della Lane, died Thursday, May 1, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 18, 1932, in Rohrersville, he was the son of the late Ralph W. and Mabel Mary Poffenberger Reeder.
He was employed at the Maryland Correctional Institution, Hagerstown, retiring after 30 years.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Korean War.
He was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren.
He also was a member of Clopper-Michael Post 10 American Legion, Boonsboro; McClellan Gun Club, Keedysville; BPO Elks Lodge 378, Hagerstown; and AARP.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Brandenburg Reeder, whom he married Feb. 19, 1960; two sisters, Deloris A. Smith and Lois Y. Webber, both of Boonsboro; two brothers, Ralph E. Reeder and Gail L. Reeder, both of Boonsboro; eight nieces; one nephew; four grand-nieces; and five grand-nephews.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Dean Miller and the Rev. Rachel Black will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Keedysville.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charles R. Thompson Sr.
KNOXVILLE, Md. - Charles "Buck" Richard Thompson Sr., 62, of 19615 Tree Top Drive, died Thursday, May 1, 1997, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.
Born Nov. 9, 1934, in Lovettsville, Va., he was the son of Florence Isabella Compher Thompson of Brunswick, Md., and the late Harry Richard Thompson.
He was employed as a forklift driver by Jefferson Cold Storage, Charles Town, W.Va., until his retirement.
He was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by six daughters, Darlene Spangler of Wolfsville, Md., Judy Kline of Harrisburg, Pa., Mary Lou Magaha and Ginny Payne, both of Taneytown, Md., Linda Thompson of Hagerstown and Brenda Mentzer of Boonsboro; three sons, Thomas Thompson of Knoxville, Butch Payne of New Market, Md., and Charles Thompson Jr. of Funkstown; one sister, Patricia Thompson Deener of Falling Waters, W.Va.; and 25 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a friend, Virginia Kennan.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Lovettsville. The Rev. Chris Suderdieck will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Lovettsville.
Visitation will be held today from 3 to 9 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick.

Ernest W. Corderman
Ernest William Corderman, 94, of 419 W. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, died Thursday, May 1, 1997, at Williamsport Nursing Home, Williamsport.
Born March 19, 1903, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Luther H. and Irene LeFever Corderman.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Helen Ruth Corderman; two sisters, Pauline Everhart and Charlotte Witherspoon, both of Hagerstown; and two brothers, Roscoe Corderman and Earl Corderman, both of Hagerstown.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Corderman and Howard Corderman.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. J. Norman Mayer and the Rev. Robert Bitner will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
H. Ralph Buhrman Sr.
H. Ralph Buhrman Sr., 86, of Poplar Grove Road, Hagerstown, died Thursday, May 1, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 20, 1910, in Mt. Zion, Md., he was the son of the late Vernon A.M. and Nettie K. Toms Buhrman.
He was a farmer. He had been employed by Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro, Pa., retiring in 1965 after 23 years of service.
He was a member of Wayside Baptist Church, Leitersburg. He was a former member of Germantown Bethel Church of God, Cascade.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sadie E. Bumbaugh Buhrman; two daughters, Josephine Willard of Waynesboro and Doris L. Thrailkill of Smithsburg; one son, Howard R. "Butch" Buhrman Jr. of Hagerstown; three brothers, H. Elmer Buhrman of Waynesboro, Lloyd C. Buhrman of Sabillasville, Md., and Samuel S. Buhrman of Hagerstown; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, G. Earl Buhrman, D. William Buhrman and O. Guy Buhrman.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg. Pastor Odell Stone and Pastor Paul Topias will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Cascade.

Ruby E. Hillyard
Ruby Elizabeth Hillyard, 66, of 1025 Bramley Drive, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, April 30, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 23, 1930, in Cavetown, she was the daughter of the late John and Leona Webb Gsell.
She was employed by L'Aiglon and E.J. Fennel Co., retiring after 30 years.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband, Richard M. Hillyard; one daughter, Leona Leasure of Chambersburg, Pa.; one son, Richard W. Hillyard of Hagerstown; two brothers, Melvin "Buddy" Gsell of Orlando, Fla., and Jack Gsell of Texas; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Smythe and Florence Schaffer.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Edward H. Heim will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Addie T. Harris
SUMMIT POINT, W.Va. - Addie T. Harris, 97, of Summit Point, died Wednesday, April 30, 1997, at Valley View Nursing Home, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Born Jan. 7, 1900, in Newport News, Va., she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Turner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Doleman Harris, on Jan. 23, 1978.
She graduated from college.
She was employed for many years by the Thomson and Breckenridge families at Hawthorne Farm, Summit Point.
She was a member of Prosperity Baptist Church, Jamestown, W.Va.
She also was a member of the Jefferson County Chapter of the NAACP.
She is survived by three nieces.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, W.Va.
The Rev. John Green will officiate.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.
Friends will be received Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Harry R. Krenzer Sr.
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Harry R. Krenzer Sr., 77, of Berkeley Springs, died Wednesday, April 30, 1997, at his home.
Born Nov. 25, 1919, in Frederick, Md., he was the son of the late John and Carrie Mae Lookingbill Krenzer.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during World War II.
He was a member of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post 60, Berkeley Springs.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores Whitcomb Krenzer; three daughters, Doris Baker of Fayetteville, N.C., Audrey Garland of Bakersville, N.C., and Mary Brooks of Idaville, Pa.; one son, Harry Krenzer Jr. of Clear Spring; three sisters, Mary Smith of Taneytown, Md., Ruth Martin of Union Bridge, Md., and Margaret Zepp of Florida; six brothers, Jim Glacken and Leroy Skip, both of Taneytown, Charles Glacken of Hampstead, Md., George Glacken of Westminster, Md., Paul Glacken of New Oxford, Pa., and Morris Glacken of Thurmont, Md.; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 106 S. Mercer St., Berkeley Springs.
The Rev. Wayne Frum will officiate.
Military honors will be conducted on Sunday following the services by the Tri-State Honor Guard.
Burial will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, Md.
Viewing will be held Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral home will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the convenience of friends.
John Sullivan
WILLIAMSPORT - John "Jack" Sullivan, 81, a resident of Williamsport Nursing Home and formerly of Denville, N.J., died Wednesday, April 30, 1997, at the nursing home.
Born July 15, 1915, in Rockaway, N.J., he was the son of the late Frank and Kate Fehling Sullivan.
His wife, Rose Zecca Sullivan, died in 1978. They were married April 12, 1942.
He was a 1933 graduate of Rockaway High School in Rockaway.
He was employed at Stapling Machine Co. in Rockaway as a machinist, retiring in 1980.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in the 450th Division.
He was a member of Denville Volunteer Fire Co. in Denville.
He is survived by one son, Gary J. Sullivan of Greencastle, Pa.; one brother, Frank Sullivan of Denville; and one granddaughter, Mary Woscek of Sterling, Va.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Grea.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Norman Dean Funeral Home, 16 Righter Ave., Denville. Burial will be in Denville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Norman Dean Funeral Home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
