Darlene L.H. Chambers
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Darlene L. Hinsley Chambers, 56, of 12460 Polktown Road, died Friday, May 2, 1997, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Chambersburg.
Born Nov. 3, 1940, in Alexandria, Va., she was the daughter of the late Paul Calvert Hinsley and Lois V. Ball Hinsley Kennedy.
She also lived in Alaska, Germany and the Northwest United States.
She was a 1959 graduate of Groveton High School in Alexandria.
She then took additional training with various universities through correspondence courses.
She was employed as a security specialist with Defense Information Systems Agency at Fort Ritchie, from 1986 until her retirement in January 1995.
She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Waynesboro.
She also was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution Sleeping Ladies chapter in Eagle River, Alaska.
She is survived by her husband, Ira D. Chambers, whom she married April 15, 1986; two sons, Sgt. James R. Jinks Jr. of Freidberg, Germany, and 2nd Lt. Richard A. Jinks of Fort Hood, Texas; one brother, Paul C. Hinsley III of Culpeper, Va.; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Paul Jinks; and her stepfather, Richard L. Kennedy.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Stuart Troutman, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

The family of Charles William Cox, 69, of 17428 Gay St., Hagerstown, who died Friday, May 2, 1997, will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, today from 7 to 9 p.m.
H. Norman Meyers
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - H. Norman Meyers, 84, a resident of Menno-Haven Chambersburg, and formerly of 678 S. Washington St., Greencastle, Pa., died Saturday, May 3, 1997, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born May 21, 1912, in Antrim Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Lloyd and Rhoda Hollinger Meyers.
He was a retired farmer and a former partner in Meyers Implements Co. in Greencastle.
He was a member of Antrim Brethren in Christ Church near Greencastle.
His first wife, Edna Wingert Meyers, died in 1972.
He enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline L. Angle Meyers, whom he married June 20, 1982; three daughters, Norma R. Grove and Judy E. Lebo, both of Greencastle, and Debra K. Stayman of Chambersburg; two sons, Jaye I. Meyers of Greencastle, and Mark W. Meyers of Chambersburg; two brothers, Noah H. Meyers and Nathan L. Meyers, both of Greencastle; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Gibble; and two brothers, Aaron Meyers and Guy Meyers.
Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Antrim Brethren in Christ Church, 24 E. Kauffman Road, Chambersburg.
The Rev. Steven Munger and the Rev. H. Frank Kipe will officiate.
Burial will be in Browns Mill Cemetery in Kauffman, Pa.
The family will receive friends at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, Tuesday from 6:30 to 9 p.m., and at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Ruth A. Moyer
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Ruth A. Moyer, 52, of 12497 Gearhart Road, died Saturday, May 3, 1997, at her home from injuries sustained when a tree blew over and struck her while she was mowing the lawn on a riding lawn mower.
Born July 11, 1944, near Leitersburg, she was the daughter of Reuben L. and Genevieve Myers Diller of Hagerstown.
She was a homemaker and helped on the family farm.
She was a member of Millers Mennonite Church near Leitersburg.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Henry H. Moyer, whom she married May 27, 1967; one son, Clemet N. Moyer, at home; two sisters, Lois M. Martin of Waynesboro, Pa., and Verna Diller of Westcliffe, Colo.; two brothers, Lester Diller of Waynesboro, and Richard Diller of Chambersburg; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Ann Moyer.
Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Millers Mennonite Church, Millers Church Road near Leitersburg.
The Millers Mennonite Church Ministry will officiate.
Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

E. Anita B. Mellott
E. Anita Bailey Mellott, 80, of 10119 Melody Lane, Hagerstown, died Sunday, May 4, 1997, at her home.
Born May 8, 1916, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Clarence E. and S. Ethel Wolfinger Bailey.
She was a member of Downsville Christian Church and the Mamie Long Sunday School Class.
She also was a member of Lady Elks No. 378, a member and past president of Williamsport Homemakers Club, and a member of several square dance clubs and the Golden Ballroom Dance Club.
She is survived by her husband, Davis E. Mellott; one daughter, Sharon Johnson of College Park, Md.; one son, David Ragan Mellott of Hagerstown; one sister, Williet "Billie" Brown of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Miner.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
The Rev. E. Reese Davis will officiate.
Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

Bonnie M.S. Ellifritz
Bonnie Marie Sharpless Ellifritz, 55, of 17532 Woodlawn Drive, Hagerstown, died Sunday, May 4, 1997, at her home.
Born Jan. 2, 1942, in Vindez, Md., she was the daughter of Hughie McRobie of Uhrichsville, Ohio, and the late Edna Sharpless McRobie.
She is the stepdaughter of Maxine McRobie of Uhrichsville.
She was employed with Maryland Ribbon Co. for 11 years.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 Auxiliary, and AMVETS Post 10 Auxiliary.
In addition to her father and stepmother, she is survived by her husband of 35 years, Baxter Ellifritz; two daughters, Elizabeth Drenner of Boonsboro and Susan Shoemaker of Clear Spring; two sisters, Betty Corby and Edna Collins, both of Oakland, Md.; five brothers, John Nogel of Canton, Ohio, Daniel Nogel of Micaville, N.C., Robert McRobie and Michael McRobie, both of Oakland, and Wayne Nogel; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Cassady.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Mary Etta Martz Witmer, 48, of 3405 Westview Circle, died Sunday, May 4, 1997, at her home.
Born Nov. 24, 1948, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Vauda Kline Martz of Hagerstown, and the late Charles R. Martz.
She was a 1966 graduate of Boonsboro High School.
She was employed by Connie's Sportswear in Waynesboro, Breyer's Ice Cream in Hagerstown.
She most recently was a packer at Staples Office Supply in Chambersburg, Pa.
She was a member of Mount Pleasant Church of God in Smithsburg.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Carl L. Witmer, whom she married Dec. 10, 1971; one daughter, Cheryl Anne Witmer Murphy of Greencastle; one son, Anthony Wayne Witmer of Greencastle; three sisters, Regina P. Creager of Waynesboro, Darlene A. Kline of Hagerstown, and Shirley M. Palmer of Cearfoss; two brothers, Roger E. Martz of Hagerstown and Larry W. Martz of Cearfoss; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich-Miller-May Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle.

Hilda M.K. Dillon
QUINCY, Pa. - Hilda M. Kline Dillon, 87, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 219 Philadelphia Ave., Waynesboro, Pa., died Sunday, May 4, 1997, at the nursing home.
Born March 28, 1910, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Harry Samuel and Sarah Alice Thompson Kline.
She was a graduate of Modern Ella School of Beauty in Philadelphia.
Her husband, Paul K. Dillon, died in 1962. They were married Feb. 1, 1958.
Early in life, she was employed by Waynesboro Knitting Mill, and then at Wayne Garment Factory in Waynesboro.
She was employed as a beautician for Laura Jones Beauty Shop in Waynesboro.
She then opened Hilda's Beauty Shop at 27 W. Third St., Waynesboro, later moving the shop to Philadelphia Avenue.
She was a beautician for more than 50 years.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Waynesboro.
She is survived by one son, C. Lee Kline of Waynesboro; one stepdaughter, June Shoemaker of Joshua, Texas; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one step-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Kline and Charlotte Lucille Kline.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Burns Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.
Jay E. Zimmerman, pastor, will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
