Martha M. Needy
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Martha Miller Needy, 87, of Route 1, died Tuesday, May 6, 1997, at Heartland Nursing Home.
Born Nov. 24, 1909, in Scrabble, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Carl and Daisy Tabler Miller.
She was a member of the Christ Reformed Church, Shepherdstown.
She is survived by her husband, William H. Needy; two sisters, Georgia Imbach and Frances Sibert, both of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Nannie Woods, Louise Keller, Sally LeMaster, Susan Eversole and Lena Stiles; and two brothers, Marion Miller and Reynolds Knipe.
Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
The Rev. Bronson Staley will officiate.
Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mary C. Langdon
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Mary Catherine Langdon, 91, of Charles Town, died Wednesday, May 7, 1997, at Robin Run Village Health Center, Indianapolis.
Born Sept. 27, 1905, in Summit Point, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Stanley L. and Eva Sowers Hardesty.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence C. Heiskell, on Jan. 1, 1926, and by her second husband, Harry B. Langdon, on Feb. 20, 1978.
She attended Shepherd College, Shepherdstown, W.Va.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Charles Town Presbyterian Church, Charles Town.
She is survived by three sons, Harry L. Langdon of Los Angeles, Lawrence C. Heiskell of Blackburg, Va., and Stanley H. Heiskell of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Adams and Evalyn Brown.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town.
The Rev. Keith Nickle will officiate.
Friends will be received Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Jeanette L.W. Orye
Jeanette Lenisse Wenk Orye, 70, of 106 E. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, May 6, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 13, 1927, in London, England, she was the daughter of the late Isiah C. and Janet William May.
She came to America in 1946.
She attended schools in London.
She was a member of VFW 1936 Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Elwood Orye; four daughters, Sherian K. Poe of Welcome, Md., Rhea M. Pennella of Boonsboro, Melissa D. Laney of Ariton, Ala., and Mary Susan Taylor of Smithsburg; one sister, Joyce Wullerman of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three brothers, David May, Rhys May and Robert May, all of London; and eight grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
The Rev. Don C. Evason will officiate.
There will be no viewing.

Harry W. McCusker
HANCOCK - Harry William McCusker, 64, of Mann Road, died Thursday, May 8, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 14, 1933, in Hancock, he was the son of the late William and Hazel Munson McCusker.
He retired from the U.S. Army in 1973.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War.
He retired in 1997 from Eddie's Tire Service in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
He was a member of Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, Hancock.
He was a member of AARP and Non-Commissioned Officers Association.
He is survived by his wife, Shelvy Jean Flowers McCusker; one daughter, Tammy Leach of Hancock; two sons, David McCusker and Danny McCusker, both of Hancock; five sisters, Genevieve Plante of Williamsport, Fern Hart of Artemas, Pa., Marguereta Joy of Little Orleans, Md., Lurna McCusker of Salisbury, Md., and Harriet Yost of Berkeley Springs; three brothers, Robert McCusker, Leroy McCusker and Henry McCusker, all of Hancock; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Millard McCusker.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, Hancock.
The Rev. Ray Rogers will officiate.
Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
Military graveside services will be conducted by Tri-State Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, today from 7 to 9 p.m.
For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open today from 2 to 9 p.m.
The family also will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the services on Saturday.

George H. Davis
WILLIAMSPORT - George Henry Davis, 75, a resident of Avalon Nursing Home, Hagerstown, and formerly of 12433 Cedar Ridge Road, Williamsport, died Thursday, May 8, 1997, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born April 3, 1922, in Downsville, he was the son of the late Cyrus M. Davis and Anna Mary Kennedy Davis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora V. Gladhill Davis, who died in 1989.
He was a retired press operator at W.D. Byron Tannery in Williamsport.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol R. Walchshauser of Hagerstown, and Judy M. Whittington of Williamsport; one son, John K. Grove of Mercersburg, Pa., two sisters, Pauline Manspeaker and Blanche Crampton both of Hagerstown; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring.
The Rev. Robert E. Timmons will officiate.
Burial will be in Parkhead Cemetery in Big Pool.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Goldie G.B. Stambaugh
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Goldie G. Barnes Stambaugh, 70, of 395 Laurel Lane, died Wednesday, May 7, 1997, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born April 18, 1927, in Lewistown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Pauline Baker Barnes.
She had also lived in South Mountain, Pa.
She was a 1945 graduate of Quincy High School and a 1948 graduate of the Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia, where she received her degree in nursing.
She was employed as a registered nurse by Samuel Dixon Hospital, South Mountain, later named South Mountain Restoration Center. Prior to her retirement in 1978, she served as supervisor.
She worked part time as a nurse at Quincy United Methodist Home, Quincy, Pa.
She was a member of the Pennsylvania Nurses Association; Waynesboro Fish and Game Association; Nittany Lions Club; Pennsylvania State University; and National AARP.
She participated with the Harvard Medical School Program for 25 years, as they studied a number of nurses and how their profession affected their health.
She is survived by her husband, whom she married Jan. 27, 1951, Richard L. Stambaugh; one daughter, Kathy A. Stambaugh of Germantown, Md.; one sister, Zelda R. Wagaman of South Mountain; and two nieces.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
The Rev. Mervil R. Stambaugh and the Rev. Curvin D. Stambaugh will officiate.
Burial will be in Strang's Cemetery, South Mountain.
There will be no public viewing.

Lillie F. Divelbiss
Lillie Fern Divelbiss, 77, of 846 Spruce St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, May 8, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 25, 1919, in Paw Paw, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Clara Bowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl B. Divelbiss.
She is survived by five daughters, Frances Patterson of Hagerstown, Ramona Yeager of Orlando, Fla., Linda Foor, and Loretta P. Smith both of Six Mile Run, Pa., and Wanda S. Wible of Chambersburg, Pa.; three sons, Ronald C. Divelbiss of Abbottstown, Pa., Lawrence T. Divelbiss of Breezewood, Pa., and Robert A. Divelbiss of Chambersburg; one sister Eleanor Franklin of Martinsburg, W.Va.; 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three daughters, Beatrice Bigler, Corallee Boden and Nancy Barbara Divelbiss.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd.
The Rev. Raymond H. Davis will officiate.
Entombment will be in Rest Haven Cemtery.

Clara R.B. Boppe
BOONSBORO - Clara Rebecca Burkett Boppe, 85, of Reeders Memorial Home, Boonsboro, and formerly of Big Spring, Md., died Wednesday, May 7, 1997, at the home.
Born July 26, 1911, in Coseytown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Daniel L. and Grace R. Wolfe Burkett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Boppe, in 1994.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by six daughters, Margaret A. Banzhoff of Williamsport, Bonnie A. Kelley of Big Spring, Helen L. Socks of Downsville, Mary E. Loveless, Betty R. Tattersall and Nancy G. Barnhart, all of Hagerstown; three sons, Robert Boppe of Creede, Colo., Richard D. Boppe of Williamsport and Bruce E. Boppe of Hagerstown; 46 grandchildren; 84 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Charles F. Boppe; two sisters, Lillian Stotler and Alice Rhodes; three brothers, Earl Burkett, Charles Burkett and Allen Burkett; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Virginia Avenue Church of God, 17306 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown.
The Rev. A. Paul Harne and the Rev. Kenneth White will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Clear Spring.
