MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Jane A. Russell, 77, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born Jan. 18, 1920, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Samuel H. and Laura M. Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel P. Russell.
She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
She also was a member of Freedom Chapter 87, Order of Eastern Star, Eldersburg, Md.
She is survived by one daughter, Laura May Newcomb of Martinsburg; one sister, Dorothy Bossert of Easton, Md.; one brother, Howard S. Anderson of Raleigh, N.C.; and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Irma Anderson and Patsy Neuman.
Services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. at Haight Funeral Home, 6416 Sykesville, Sykesville, Md.
The Rev. Robert T. Wellman will officiate.
Burial will be in Taylorsville United Methodist Church Cemetery, Taylorsville, Md.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
The family also will receive friends at Haight Funeral Home, Sykesville, Md., Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
E. Marie Crouse
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - E. Marie Crouse, 85, of Berkeley Springs, and formerly of Needmore, Pa., died Monday, May 19, 1997, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs.
Born Nov. 22, 1911, in Ayr Township, Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Erastus and A. Bertha E. Pittman Bard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron S. Crouse, in 1985.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She was a member of Tonoloway Baptist Cemetery Association, Needmore.
She is survived by two daughters, Mildred Naomi Smith of Oxnard, Calif., and Betty L. Allgyer, of Berkeley Springs, with whom she resided; two sons, Ed D. Crouse of Hancock and Lester A. Crouse of Hampton, Va.; two half-sisters, Ida Litton and Vesta Hull, both of Big Cove Tannery, Pa.; one half-brother, Mosser Shives of Florence, Ky.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, John Bard.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Tonoloway Baptist Cemetery, near Needmore.
The Rev. William D. Leonard will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, today from 7 to 9 p.m.
For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open from noon to 9 p.m. today.

Alyce H. Dagenais
Alyce Hitt Dagenais, 89, formerly of 505 Gordon Circle, Hagerstown, died Monday, May 19, 1997, at Homewood Retirement Center, Williamsport.
Born Nov. 24, 1907, in Greenwood, S.C., she was the daughter of the late John Rainey and Isabelle Caroline Stames Hitt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Henri Dagenias Jr., in 1978.
She was a graduate of Lander College, Greenwood, S.C.
She was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Williamsport.
She also was a member of Fountain Head Country Club; a board member of the Needlework Guild of America for 20 years and helped organized subsidiary Junior Groups in this area.
The Women's Club, Hagerstown; the Boys Club, and was active with the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts.
She is survived by one brother, W. Charles Hitt, of Greenwood, Va.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Earl Hitt, John Clyde Hitt and Ben Aaron Hitt.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m., at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
The Rev. Mark A. Sandell will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
The family requests the omission of flowers, and suggests memorial donations be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Washington County, 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, Md. 21740.

Carolyn P.P. Happel
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Carolyn P. Petrie Happel, 67, of 1900 E. Main St., died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born April 17, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Charles LeRoy and Mary Alice Foreman Petrie.
She was a 1947 graduate of Waynesboro High School.
She was employed in the production department of Frick Co. for 10 years.
She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond G. Happel Jr., whom she married Nov. 20, 1948; one son, Gary R. Happel of Smithsburg; one brother, Robert Petrie of Duccanville, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Petrie, in 1988.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
The Rev. Richard A. Seaks will officiate.
Burial will be in Prince's Church Cemetery, near Waynesboro.
There will be no public viewing.

Richard H. "Richie" Bingaman III
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Richard H. "Richie" Bingaman III, 17, of 12092 Crestview Drive, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pa.
Born April 7, 1980, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Richard H. Bingaman II of Greencastle and Teresa L. Koontz Bingaman of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
He attended Greencastle area schools.
While in school, he played football for Greencastle Middle School.
He played in the Colt Baseball League of St. Thomas, Pa.
He was employed by Koontz Dry Walling for two summers.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Jessi L. Bingaman of Greencastle; one brother, James B. Bingaman of Greencastle; maternal grandmother, Anna Mae Koontz of Greencastle; paternal grandparents, Richard and Beverly Bingaman of Greencastle; and paternal great-grandfather, Allen C. Bingaman of Greencastle.
Services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Minnich-Miller-May Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle.
The Rev. Floyd E. Myers and the Rev. Donald N. Kretzer will officiate.
Burial will be in Broadfording Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services Thursday at the funeral home.

Hubert E. Kendall
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Hubert E. "Hub" Kendall, 95, of 249 N. Broad St., died Sunday, May 18, 1997, at Colton Villa Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 15, 1901, near Smithsburg,
he was the son of the late Abraham and Ida Toms Kendall.
He had also lived in the Highfield, Md. area.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona A. Carbaugh Kendall, on June 3, 1979. They were married in August 1925.
He was employed as a line foreman by South Penn Power Co., presently Allegheny Power Co., from 1926 until his retirement in 1966.
He was a member of the 25 Century Club of Allegheny Power Co., South Chapter 2977 AARP and the National AARP.
He enjoyed working in his garden.
He is survived by one daughter, Vivian L. Martin of Hagerstown; one son, Donald E. Kendall of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Carroll A. Kendall, in 1981; one grandson, Jeffrey Lynn Martin, in 1962; three sisters; and three brothers.
Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
Pastor Roger K. Myers will officiate.
Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Thomas M. Dockeney Sr.
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Thomas M. Dockeney Sr., 78, of Route 2, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born May 22, 1918, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Luther M. and Nellie Ritenour Dockeney.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Harpine; and his second wife, Ann Fulk.
He retired from Martin Marietta.
A U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, he served during World War II.
He was a member of Christ Reformed Church.
He also was a member of Berkeley Lodge 37 AF&AM in Hedgesville, W.Va., and Newton D. Baker Post 896, VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jean Montgomery Dockeney; three daughters, Bonnie G. Light of Martinsburg, Joanna L. Boarman and Hazel Renee Zimmerman, both of Hedgesville, W.Va.; three sons, Thomas M. Dockeney Jr. of Martinsburg, Patrick A. Dockeney of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Clayton R. Dockeney of Winchester; three stepdaughters, Mary Ann Hetzer of Germany, Roberta Shade and Margaret Ellen Fulk, both of Martinsburg; two stepsons, Paul Y. McDonald of New Jersey, and David Lawrence of Inwood, W.Va.; two sisters, Mabel Springer of Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Dorothy Breeden of Rochester, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Louise Kerns, Thelma Breeden, Sarah Mullin and Betty Springer.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Christ Reformed Church.
Thomas E. Hartshorn will officiate.
Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by Newton D. Baker Post 896 VFW, and Berkeley Post 14 American Legion.

Edgar Lee Moats, 69, of 743 Maryland Ave., Hagerstown, who died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, is survived by three stepdaughters, Debra Boward of Williamsport, and Donna Lynn and Denise Minnick, both of Hagerstown.
