Emily R. Bell
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Emily Rebecca Bell, 72, of Charles Town, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, Va.
Born April 24, 1925, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Lee Allen and Cary Alice Bromley Marshall.
Her husband, David Lee Bell Sr., died in 1994.
She was a graduate of Shepherdstown High School, Shepherdstown, W.Va.
She retired from AT&T in Leesburg, Va., in 1965.
She previously was employed by Central Telephone Co., Charles Town.
She was a member of Charles Town Presbyterian Church in Charles Town.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan Reed Bell, of Charles Town, and Ann Allen Demory, of Grafton, Va.; one son, David L. "Max" Bell Jr., of Kearneysville, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Brown; and one brother, Lee Allen Marshall Jr.
Graveside services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town.
Pastor Richard E. Neal will officiate.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.
Arthur T. Brown
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Arthur Thomas Brown, 89, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at City Hospital.
Born Dec. 8, 1907, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Samuel Ferguson and Mary Florence Roberts Brown.
He was a 1926 graduate of Martinsburg High School and attended Shepherd College for one year.
He was retired, and formerly employed as an accountant by Interwoven Mills for 30 years, and by Dailey Motors for five years.
He was a confirmed member of Christ Reformed Church since 1922, and was active in all work of the church.
He was elected as a deacon, served as an elder, superintendent of the Sunday school, secretary of the Sunday school, and teacher of a boys' class.
He was a member of Friendship Circle, Christian Endeavor, and Gluck Men's Bible Class, where he served as their pianist.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Frances Myers Brown, whom he married, Aug. 16, 1938; and three nephews.
Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. Thomas E. Hartshorn will officiate.
Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Martinsburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Jon H. Baird, Sr.
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Jon Howard Baird, Sr., 58, of Shepherdstown, died Monday, May 19, 1997, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born June 26, 1938, in Higganum, Conn., he was the son of the late Curtis and Myrtle Spencer Baird.
He retired as a chef from Marriott Hotel in Syracuse, N.Y.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Vietnam War.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by his wife, Fredora Knowlton Baird; one son, Jon Howard Baird, Jr. of Kearneysville, W.Va.; two sisters, Shirley Chase of Syracuse and Carol Burt of Apache Junction, Ariz.; two brothers, Curtis Baird of Sennett, N.Y., and Donald Baird of Indiana; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Oliver.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home in Ranson, W.Va.
The Rev. Allen Cameron will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Evaline G. Timmons
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Evaline Grace Timmons, 76, of Route 5, died Wednesday, May 21, 1997, at City Hospital.
Born Nov. 5, 1920, in Chambersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Helen Snyder Worthington.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lester Timmons.
She retired as a registered nurse at Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church where she led the Sunday school class.
She is survived by one daughter, Michelle Ceravalo, of Martinsburg; two sons, Michael W. Timmons and David E. Timmons, both of Martinsburg; one sister, Gladys Torbert of Chambersburg, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg.
The Rev. Harvey M. Bane will officiate.
Burial will be in Butler's Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mathias P. Moller, III
Mathias P. "Ted" Moller, III, 70, of 7 E. Washington St., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.
Born April 20, 1927, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late M.P. and Hilda Mackenzie Moller, Jr.
He attended St. James School. He graduated in 1945 from Tabor Academy, Marion, Mass.
He attended Princeton University and George Washington University.
He was vice president of M.P. Moller, retiring in 1989.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn M. Moller of Sharpsburg; two sons, Thomas D. Noe and Michael R. Noe, both of Richmond, Va.; one brother, Kevin M. Moller of Hagerstown; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown.
The Rev. Edward H. Heim will officiate.
There will be no viewing.

Loretta G. Bushey
Loretta G. Bushey, 66, of 13208 Briarcliff Drive, Hagerstown, died Monday, May 19, 1997, at her home.
Born in Greensburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Samuel J. and Stella V. Grabiak.
She was employed at Ski Liberty as the head of the professional ski patrol for about 20 years.
She received the national appointment to the National Ski Patrol System.
She also was an avid golfer.
She was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, George W. Bushey; two daughters, Cheryl Patrick and Taryn Jones; one son, G. Kent Bushey; two brothers, Dr. Gregory Grabiak and Samuel L. Grabiak; and three grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Ave., Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends immediately after the Mass in the Parish Center.

Charles W. Kitchen
BOONSBORO - Charles Wesley "Charlie" Kitchen, 74, of King Road, died Wednesday, May 21, 1997, at his home.
Born Aug. 19, 1922, in Hedgesville, W.Va., he was the son of the late Wesley Kimble and Janie Catherine Snyder Kitchen.
He was formerly employed at Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown, and retired from Roper Eastern in Hagerstown.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army.
He served with the 40th Engineer Division in the European and African Theaters.
He was a member of Mount Nebo United Methodist Church in Boonsboro.
He was a life member of Clopper-Michael Post 10 American Legion in Boonsboro and the 40th Engineer Division Association.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Irene Flook Kitchen, whom he married Dec. 26, 1954; one daughter, Celeste Kitchen of Boonsboro; five sisters, Josephine Golliday, Amanda Myers, Dorothy Stalvey and Lyda Crawford, all of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Leona Reeder of Boonsboro; four brothers, Leon Kitchen and Bruce Kitchen, both of Boonsboro, Paul Kitchen of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Raymond Kitchen of Clear Spring.
Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.

Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

Charles W. McIntire
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Charles W. "Jeep" "Mac" McIntire, 71, of 338 Fairmount Ave., died Wednesday, May 21, 1997, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born July 2, 1925, in Zullinger, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry and Helen Bryan McIntire.
He attended Waynesboro Area Schools.
Early in life, he was employed at Waynesboro Knitting Mill in Waynesboro, and then at Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown.
Since 1946, he was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg in the surveillance department, retiring in 1982.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in the 814th Military Police Co. in the Pacific Theater.
He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waynesboro.
He also was a member and past master of Acacia Lodge 586 F&AM in Waynesboro, a life member of William Max McLaughlin VFW Post 695 in Waynesboro, and a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1526 in Gettysburg, Pa., Eagles Club Inc. in Waynesboro, Order of the Owls Nest 1073 in Waynesboro, South Chapter 2977 AARP in Waynesboro, and Total Life Center of Waynesboro Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Louise Wilhide McIntire, whom he married April 4, 1947; six daughters, Cheryl J. Rotz, Linda D. Rock, Sharon M. Byers, Jennifer K. Eyler and Theresa A. Eyler, all of Waynesboro, and Deborah S. Christophel of Greencastle, Pa.; one son, Charles W. McIntire, II of Waynesboro; one sister, Dorothy J. Hahn of Waynesboro; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Janice Shearer; and one brother, Francis D. McIntire.
Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Roger E. Keech, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro, with military graveside services conducted by the Honor Guard of Charles M. Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 in Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m., where Masonic services will be conducted by his lodge at 8:30 p.m.
