Julia E.K. Hull
CLEAR SPRING - Julia E. Kriner Hull, 93, of 11636 Ashton Road, died Friday, May 23, 1997, at Williamsport Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 1, 1903, in Clear Spring, she was the daughter of the late Adam B. Kriner and Melinda M. Shupp Kriner.
Her husband, Bruce Lawrence Hull, died in 1985.
She taught for many years at various Washington County schools.
She taught piano for many years.
She and her husband owned and operated a Clear Spring dairy farm.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Clear Spring.
She also was a member of Clear Spring Historical Society, Clear Spring Alumni Association, and Farmers Co-op of Greencastle, Pa.
She was the last of her immediate family and is survived by nephews and one niece.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Bertha Schnebly; and two brothers, Welty Kriner and Emmett Kriner.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Donald E. Thompson Funeral Home, 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring.
The Rev. Terry Foor will officiate.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Clear Spring.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
John F. O'Connell
MANCHESTER, N.H. - John F. O'Connell, 41, of Manchester, died Wednesday, May 21, 1997, of a heart attack while playing tennis with friends.
Born in Albany, N.Y., he was the son of Matthew O'Connell of Albany and the late Ellen Tracey O'Connell.
He was a graduate of St. George's School in Rhode Island, McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and Franklin Pierce Law Center.
He was a senior partner in the law firm of Halvorsen & O'Connell.
He previously was a director and shareholder in the Hamblett & Kerrigan Law Firm in Nashua, N.H., where he served as president and managing director.
He was a member of Brookside Congregational Church in Manchester, where he taught Sunday school for several years.
He was a member of the New Hampshire and American Bar Associations, New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association and American Trial Lawyers Association.
He was director and secretary of the Nashua Pastoral Care Center; member of the founding Steering Committee of Leadership, Nashua; and served as counsel to the Greater Nashua Council on Alcoholism.
He was an active member of Chamber of Commerce; member of Swimmers Inc. in Manchester; and president of Lake Louisa Social Club in Lachute, Canada.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Linda Campbell O'Connell; one daughter, Meghan L. O'Connell of Manchester; one son, Christopher M.I. O'Connell of Manchester; three sisters, Kathleen O'Connell of Hagerstown, Ellen Donnelly of Rockville, Md., and Mary Beth Bennett of Oshawa, Ontario, Canada; two brothers, Kevin O'Connell and Daniel O'Connell, both of Elmira, N.Y.; nieces; and nephews.
Services will be today at 9 a.m. at Brookside Congregational Church, 2013 Elm St., Manchester.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.

Earl F. Shoemaker
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Earl F. Shoemaker, 82, of 7377 Roxbury Road, died Friday May 23, 1997, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born July 25, 1914, in Amberson, Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Daniel J. and Florence Varner Shoemaker.
He was retired as a carpenter from the former DeRose Industries in Chambersburg, Pa.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during World War II.
He was a member of Lurgan United Brethren Church in Lurgan, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian E. Greenawalt Shoemaker; one daughter, Debbie K. Schetrompf of Needmore, Pa.; three sons, Jack Shoemaker of Chambersburg, Wayne E. Shoemaker of Walnut Bottom, Pa., and Roy E. Shoemaker of Lurgan; three sisters, Martha Gurksy of Greenville, Pa., Annabelle McHenry of Shippensburg, and Carrie Baer of Mt. Holly Springs, Pa.; three brothers, David E. Shoemaker of Spring Run, Pa., Frank Shoemaker and Oscar Shoemaker, both of Shippensburg; seven grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home in Shippensburg.
The Rev. Ed Calhoun will officiate.
Burial will be in Lurgan Cemetery, Lurgan Township.

Warner Sherrard
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Warner Sherrard, 71, of 50 Lippizan Drive, died Thursday, May 22, 1997, at The Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.
Born Oct. 7, 1925, in Morgan County, W.Va., he was the son of the late John H. and Lillie M. Catlett Sherrard.
He owned Sherrard's Jewelers in Shippensburg for 35 years, retiring in 1988.
He was a certified watch maker and jeweler. He was a 1949 graduate of the former Western Pennsylvania Horological Institute in Pittsburgh, Pa.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served during World War II.
He was a member of Open Door Church, the Auditorium Bible Class, the Shepard Ministry, and served on various committees at the church.
He was a life member of Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Viola J. Bohrer; one son, Warner D. Sherrard, at home; six sisters, Genevieve Ambrose, Jean Wertenberger and Cindy Stotler, all of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Frances Christy of Stow, Ohio, Jane Molnar of Monroe Falls, Ohio, and Brenda Cobb of Berlin Heights, Ohio; six brothers, Paul Sherrard, John Sherrard and Wayne Sherrard Sr., all of Berkeley Springs, Vernon Sherrard of Des Moines, Iowa, Donal Sherrard of Hedgesville, W.Va., and David Sherrard of New London, Ohio; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Open Door Church, 600 Miller St., Chambersburg.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Morgan County, W.Va.

Almeda E.S. Needy
Almeda E. "Mead" Schildt Needy, 81, of Green Hills Group Home for Seniors, Hagerstown, and formerly of 24404 Graham Ave., Smithsburg, died Thursday, May 22, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 16, 1915, in Edgemont, Md., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Leah Snyder Schildt.
She lived her early life in the Edgemont area.
She was the wife of the late Rayburn S. "Biddy" Needy.
They were married in 1938.
In her early life, she worked at Landis Machine Co. in Waynesboro, Pa.
In 1951, she and her husband purchased the Chocolate Park Tavern in Cascade, Md., and operated it until selling the business in 1974.
Following her retirement, she worked for Rinehart Orchards in the Smithsburg area for 14 years.
She was a member of Blue Mountain Church of God in Edgemont.
She also was a member of the National AARP.
She is survived by one foster son, Donald Schildt of Washington, Ill.; one sister, Charlotte Bowman of Boonsboro, Md.; one brother, Clarence Schildt of Byron, Ill.; two foster grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lester Schildt, Richard Schildt and Lloyd Schildt.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
Pastor Sterling C. Keeney and Pastor Randall S. Reid will officiate.
Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.

Lelah P. Barrett
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Lelah P. Barrett, 67, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Nov. 18, at her home.
Born Oct. 7, 1929, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Odessa Smith Orr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grantham "Pete" Barrett.
She previously was employed seasonally by the C.H. Musselman Co.
She is survived by four daughters, Barbara Hovermale of Radford, Va., Linda Sparkman of Gerrardstown, W.Va., Brenda Shepherd and Joyce Humphries, both of Martinsburg; two sons, M. Terry Barrett of Inwood, W.Va., and G. Lee Barrett of Gerrardstown; four sisters, Geneva Mills and Gloria Kitchen, both of Martinsburg, Norma Lee Rhineman of Hedgesville, W.Va., and Laura Belle Lynch of Williamsport; one brother, Bruce Orr of Martinsburg; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Faye Barrett; two brothers, Harold Orr and Jack Orr; and three grandchildren, Kenneth Sparkman, Michael Hovermale and Christina Hoironimus.
Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Faith Tabernacle, Rt. 45 West.
The Rev. Don Preston and the Rev. Joe Ebersole will officiate.
Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Arden, W.Va.

Carrie E. S. Lenherr
QUINCY, Pa. - Carrie Edith Snowberger Lenherr, 102, of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of Greencastle, Pa., died Monday, Nov. 18, 1996, at the nursing home.
Born March 3, 1894, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Carrie King Snowberger.
Her husband, Reid D. Lenherr Sr., died on March 4, 1984. They were married on Sept. 15, 1915.
She sold her farm produce at the Farmer's Market in Hagerstown.
She is survived by three sons, Robert S. Lenherr and Reid D. Lenherr Jr., both of Chambersburg, and Rupert Eugene Lenherr of Tempe, Ariz.; one sister, Eva G. Garber of Brookville, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a number of great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Richard Lenherr, Donald Lenherr, and Donovan Lenherr; one grandson, Richard H. Lenherr; three sisters, Lula M. Hovis, C. Grace Bayer and Amy E. Snowberger; and three brothers, Roy A. Snowberger, Ira F. Snowberger and H. Edgar Snowberger.
Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
Willis C. Hess will officiate.
Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

Clara G. Dekker
QUINCY, Pa. - Clara G. Dekker, 84, of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 200 N. Main St., Apt. 607, Chambersburg, Pa., died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 1996, at Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro, Pa.
Born July 24, 1912, in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Mose and Anna Beisboer Koning.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry H. Dekker, on Oct. 10, 1967.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis M. Rudisill of Chambersburg; one son, Robert H. Dekker of Napa, Calif; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Homewood Memorial Gardens, Homewood, Ill.
There will be no viewing.
