Robert W. Hough
SUMMITVILLE, Tenn. - Robert Wrice Hough, 65, of 98 Deer Path Drive, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1996, at his home.
Born Oct. 7, 1931, in Collinsville, Ill., he was the son of the late Howard Edison and Elsie Rosenberg Hough.
He was a retired industrial engineer with Temco.
He attended First Presbyterian Church, McMinnville, Tenn.
He is survived by his wife, Eugenia Thomure Hough; three daughters, Lynn Hough and Judy Sterling, both of Hagerstown, and Dawn Hough of Tulsa, Okla.; three sons, Paul Hough of McMinnville, Dale Hough of Ellicott City, Md., and Mark Hough of Hagerstown; one sister, Shirley Grimm of Collinsville, Ill.; and one brother, Howard Hough of Springfield, Ill.
Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Andrew J. Cooney will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Annie E. Harman
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Annie E. Harman, 99, of Menno-Haven, Chambersburg, and formerly of Chambersburg and St. Thomas, Pa., died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1996, at Menno-Haven.
Born March 17, 1897, in Shiremanstown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Sadie Mohler Sheaffer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin F. Harman, in June 1984.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chambersburg.
She is survived by one daughter, Flo A. Stake of Chambersburg; three sons, Richard B. Harman of Gerrardstown, W.Va., David S. Harman of Winchester, Va., and Jack E. Harman of Waynesboro, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter and one brother.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at St. John's Cemetery, Hampton Township, Cumberland County, Shiremanstown. The Rev. Karen Minnich-Sadler will officiate.
Viewing will be held Monday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg.

Joseph B. Morris
Joseph Breneman Morris, 67, of 11521 Rock Hill Road, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 1996, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born Dec. 2, 1929, in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of the late Ernest Ralph and Carrie Mae Breneman Morris.
He was employed as a mason foreman by the U.S. Government. He worked at the White House as a painter and furniture refinisher, retiring in 1991. He also was employed by the maintenance department of the Town of Williamsport for the past three years.
A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he served from 1950 to 1957, during the Korean War.
He attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
He was a member of AARP; Potomac Post 202 American Legion, Williamsport; and 4th Marine Corps Reserve and Recruitment District.
He is survived by his wife, Bernadine Ellen Scott Morris; two daughters, Judy Lee Hoffman of Hagerstown and Jo Ellen Kersh of Myersville, Md.; one son, A. Scott Morris of Hagerstown; two sisters, Norma Jean Stamm and Doris Ann Gould, both of Youngstown; four brothers, Calvin Ralph Morris of Lady Lake, Fla., Dewey Richard Morris of West Palm Beach, Fla., Alvin Olin Morris of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., and Wayne Morris of Adamstown, Md.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest Morris Jr., Billy Morris and Harold Morris.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. Alan Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
Friends may call Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. Sunday for the convenience of family and friends.
Harriet Eyler
CAMP HILL, Pa.- Harriet Eyler, 92, of 770 Poplar Church Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 1996, at Blue Ridge Haven West, Camp Hill.
Born May 22, 1904, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Elva Grace Miner Eyler.
She received her elementary education in Waynesboro and was an alumna of Columbia Business College.
She was employed as a stenographer by the Waynesboro Gas Co.
She is survived by three nieces, Gretchen Lee Pascoe of Camarillo, Calif., Susan Marie Tabacheck of Aurora, Colo., and Elaine Eyler of Hagerstown; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be private at Greenhill Cemetery.

Charles L. Rice Sr.
DELTA, Pa. - Charles L. "Lindy" Rice Sr., 69, of Delta, Pa., and formerly of Martinsburg, W.Va., died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1996, at Fort Howard Medical Center, Sparrows Point, Md.
Born Aug. 2, 1927, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Edward C. and Lillian Dunham Rice.
He was a retired general residential contractor.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Guesford Rice; five daughters, Cynthia K. Christian, Kathy Ann Rice, Anna Marie Rice and Stephanie A. Thompson, all of Baltimore, and Karen Sue Rice of Martinsburg; 10 sons, Charles L. Rice Jr. of Martinsburg, Terry Rice, Gregory Rice and George Edward Rice, all of Delta, Roger W. Rice, David Wayne Rice, F. Woodrow Rice, Larry A. Rice, Darryl Lee Rice and James Lacy Rice, all of Baltimore; one sister, Anna Mae Trammel of Winchester, Pa.; 27 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Philip L. Rice; and five brothers, Lawrence G. Rice, Eugene Rice, Leon Rice, Thomas Rice and Harry Rice.
Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Dottie Dunham will officiate. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery.

Ruth I. Lohman
SHARPSBURG - Ruth Irene Lohman, 91, formerly of 121 W. Main St., died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1996, at I.H.S. of Charles Town, W.Va.
Born Jan. 12, 1905, in Sharpsburg, she was the daughter of the late George Washington and Fannie Frances Elizabeth Lewis Churchey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Howell Lohman, in 1969.
She was owner and operator of Lohman's Grocery in Sharpsburg. She also was a Stanley Home Products dealer for more than 30 years.
She was a charter member of Battlefield Bible Church, Tilghmanton.
She was a member of AARP and Downsville Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two daughters, Frances I. Myers and Ardella R. Giffin, both of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two sons, Samuel David Lohman and Rodger Leon Lohman, both of Sharpsburg; two foster daughters, Jane Myers and Ruth Spikes, both of Hagerstown; one foster son, Bobby Gordon of Hagerstown; three sisters, Evelyn Clark and Dorothy McCoy, both of Hagerstown, and Thelma Strite of Smithsburg; three brothers, Lloyd Churchey of Jackson, Mich., Clifton Churchey and Atlee Churchey, both of Sharpsburg; 13 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Josephine Jackson; and three brothers, Howard Churchey, Grover Churchey and Raymond Churchey.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Battlefield Bible Church, 7708 Sharpsburg Pike, Tilghmanton. The Rev. Henry A. Lutz and the Rev. Gerald D. Carbaugh will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg.

QUINCY, Pa. - A. May Happel Benchoff, 99, of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of Pennersville, Pa., died Thursday, Dec. 12, 1996, at the nursing home.
Born Jan. 6, 1896, in Pen Mar, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George H. and Nancy Hoover Happel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Benchoff, on Nov. 13, 1960. They were married June 24, 1919.
She was a member of Hawley Memorial Presbyterian Church, Blue Ridge Summit, Pa. She also was a member of the Women's Association and was a deacon of the church. She taught Sunday school for a number of years and Bible school in the summer.
She also was a member of the National AARP and was a past member of the Camp Fire Girls.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy E. Smith of Waynesboro, Pa.; three sons, Carl W. Benchoff Jr. of Port Orchard, Washington, George F. Benchoff of Blue Ridge Summit and Robert H. Benchoff of Waycross, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Harnois and Ellen Keckler; and one brother, Walter Happel.
Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Hawley Memorial Presbyterian Church, 14753 Charmian Road, Blue Ridge Summit. Pastor Robert S. Edmundson will officiate. Burial will be in Harbaugh Church Cemetery near Rouzerville, Pa.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Henry E. Trinewell, 92, of Chambersburg, who died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1996, is survived by a nephew, Harold Keith of Hagerstown.
Paul W. Malcolm Sr.
FT. ASHBY, W.Va. - Paul William Malcolm Sr., 71, of Ft. Ashby, W.Va., died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 1996, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Jan. 14, 1925, in Paw Paw, W.Va., he was the son of the late William and Bertha Kave Malcolm.
He retired after 39 years from Cumberland Electric. He had been the sales manager of the Centre Street store.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II in the European Theater.
He attended Trinity United Methodist Church.
He was a life member and past commander of the Ft. Ashby Post 6667, VFW, and was serving as chaplain. He also was a member and past president of the Ft. Ashby Lions Club, and belonged to B.P.O.E. Lodge 63.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Klein Malcolm; two daughters, Sandra Glass of Thurmont, Md., and Linda Laird of Ft. Ashby; one son, Paul W. "Bill" Malcolm Jr. of Hagerstown; one brother, Donald L. Malcolm of Florida; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Rockwell and Mabel Bloom; and three brothers, Henry Malcolm, Robert Malcolm and Vane Malcolm.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Deborah L. Shreve officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Ashby Cemetery.
Friends may call today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Rt. 28, Ft. Ashby. The Ft. Ashby Lions Club will conduct a memorial service today at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. The casket will be taken to the church one prior to the services.
