Mary Edna Eberly Whittington, 68, of 17952 Garden Lane, Hagerstown, who died Tuesday, May 27, 1997, was preceded in death by husbands Frank G. Smigelski, who died in 1978, and Walter N. Whittington, who died in 1992.
She is survived by a brother, Frank B. Eberly, of Clearview, Pa.
Jean E.C. Parker
VALDOSTA, Ga. - Jean Elizabeth Cruickshank Parker, 77, of Valdosta, died Thursday, May 1, 1997, in Sarasota, Fla.
She was a native of Hagerstown.
She is survived by two daughters, Kay Faulman of Sarasota, and Annie McGhin of Valdosta; two sons, Reid Parker of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Charlie Parker of St. Leonard, Md.; three sisters, Frances Thumma of Hagerstown, Barbara Athey of York, Pa., and Roberta Kappel of Falston, Md.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Heimbree.
Private memorial services were held May 9 in Valdosta.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Services for Lowell D. Stuckey, 73, of Martinsburg, who died Wednesday, May 28, 1997, will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg.
Betty J. Suarez
HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Betty Jane Suarez, 53, of Hedgesville, died Thursday, May 29, 1997, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Nov. 13, 1943, in Sylvan, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Michael B. and Frances Johnson Weller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Marion Suarez, who died in 1993.
She was a member of Stonebridge Church of the Brethren in Hancock, Md.
She is survived by one daughter, Angela M. Beddow of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; three brothers, John Weller of Hancock, Dale Weller of Baltimore and Gary Weller of Mercersburg, Pa.; and one grandson.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Stonebridge Church of the Brethren, Hancock. The Rev. Harry E. Strite will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock, and 30 minutes prior to the services at the church on Saturday. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open this evening from 1 to 9 p.m.

Donald D. Starliper
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Donald D. Starliper, 75, of Syracuse, died Wednesday, May 28, 1997, at Veterans Affairs Hospital, Syracuse.
Born July 31, 1921, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late C.C. Starliper and Nancy Pearl Myers Starliper Boward.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Mason Starliper.
He retired as an electrician from the U.S. Department of the Navy.
He served in U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by two daughters, Pamela Banetter of Syracuse, and Debbie Dunn of Alabama; three sons, Dewon Starliper of Downington, Pa., William Starliper and Donald Starliper, both of Syracuse; one sister, Virginia Fortney of Martinsburg, W.Va.; one brother, Robert G. Starliper of Martinsburg; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dolly Fox and Mary Jane Grozinger.
Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Sears-Middleton Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., North Syracuse, N.Y.
Alice R. Ott
Alice Rita Ott, 79, of 13303 Fairfax Road, Hagerstown, died Thursday, May 29, 1997, at her home.
Born June 24, 1917, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Charles Lincoln and Jeannie Louise Gordon Kennedy.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Thomas Edward Ott, who died June 1, 1996.
She graduated from Saskatchewan University and completed a post- graduate degree from University of Toronto Dental College.
She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, where she taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, and served as vice president of the Board of Confraternity of Christian Doctrine. She also served on the Parish Council and most recently as a delegate to the Central Regional Planning Committee directed by Bishop Francis Murphy.
She was a charter member of Women in the Arts; American Association of University Women; Ladies of the Elks Lodge 378; AARP, past member of Fountain Head Country Club and Garden Club; and Pine Knolls Shores Association in North Carolina.
She is survived by one daughter, Charlene Louise Jones of Concord, Mass.; one son, Gordon Kennedy Ott of Hagerstown; one sister, and five grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Beaver Creek Cemetery. The Rev. George A. Limmer will officiate.

Carolyn F. Wright
NEEDMORE, Pa. - Carolyn Fogal Wright, 49, of R.D.1, died Thursday, May 29, 1997, at her home.
Born Nov. 17, 1947, in Shade Gap, Pa., she was the daughter of Ronald R. Fogal of Chambersburg, Pa., and the late Mildred Swope Fogal.
She was co-owner of Dave's Funnel Cakes for 13 years in Needmore, and was employed at Citicorp in Hagerstown for one year.
She was a member of Needmore Bible Church.
She is survived by her husband, David R. Wright, whom she married Aug. 26, 1965; two daughters, Brenda Somerville of North East, Md., and Cindy Brooks of Ocean City, N.J.; four sisters, Gail Hollenshead of Chambersburg, Glenda Mellott of Harrisonville, Pa., Kay Musser of Carlisle, Pa., and Bonnie Miller of Greencastle, Pa.; two granddaughters; and one grandson.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Needmore Bible Church. The Rev. Douglas Poffenberger and the Rev. Lewis Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Nazarene Cemetery in Harrisonville.
A viewing will be held at the church Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
