Pearl P. Ellis
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Pearl Pauline Ellis, 79, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 1996, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born Jan. 19, 1917, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ash and Lucy Powell Ellis.
She retired from Perfection Garment Co. after 40 years.
She was a member of Second Baptist Church for more than 50 years.
She is survived by one son, Jack A. Ellis of Martinsburg; one sister, Christine E. Stanley of Martinsburg; six grandchildren, Karla Johnston, Bonnie Merceruio, Timothy Ellis, Tamara Cutlip, Lisa Barrett and Heidi Miller; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Viola Rockwell, Lucy Painter, Mary Martin and Daisy Faircloth; one brother, Bruce Ellis; and one grandson.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Second Baptist Church. The Rev. R. Shawn Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery in Martinsburg.

Earnest E. Perry
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Earnest E. Perry, 69, of 353 W. Main St., Fayetteville, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1996, in Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Nov. 11, 1927 in Fayetteville, he was the son of Laura Sprow Perry and the late Ernest A. Perry.
He retired after working 40 years at Letterkenny Army Depot.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He attended the former Mount Union E.U.B. Church in Fayetteville.
He was a former member of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Co. and a former deputy fish warden for Pennsylvania.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary A. Orris Perry; one daughter, Michelle L. Sollenberger of Fayetteville; four sons, Dennis E. Perry, Drew A. Perry, and Dwight A. Sollenberger, all of Fayetteville, and Monte R. Perry of Upper Strasburg, Pa.; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Terry Wible will officiate. Burial will be in Air Hill Cemetery in Chambersburg with graveside services conducted by members of Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Charles T. Brosius IV
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Charles T. Brosius IV, 56, of Martinsburg, died Friday Dec. 13, 1996, at his home.
Born July 8, 1940, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Charles Thomas and Ellen Ayers Brosius III.
He was a retired computer manager.
He is survived by two daughters, Darby Bianco, of Great Falls, Va., and Debbie Cisarik, of Centerville, Va.; two sons, Charles T. Brosius V of Fairfax, Va., and Michael R. Brosius of Radford, Va.; one sister, Susan Jamieson, of Lewisville, Texas; one brother, Robert Brosius, of Toronto, Canada, and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville, Md. The Rev. George Reid will officiate. Burial will be in the Monocacy Cemetery in Beallsville, Md.
The family will receive friends at the Hilton Funeral Home Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m.
Local arrangements are by the Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Steve W. McManus
GREAT CACAPON, W.Va. - Steve William McManus, 50, of Great Cacapon, died Monday, Dec. 16, 1996, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 12, 1946, in Great Cacapon, he was the son of the late William T. and Pauline M. Fields McManus.
He was a sheet metal mechanic who worked with private contractors at the U.S. Fish and Game Conservatory in Shepherdstown, W.Va.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He attended public schools in Great Cacapon and Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Geraldine F. Fields McManus; one daughter, H. Amber McManus, at home; two sisters, Barbara I. Stotler and Deborah M. Stotler, both of Great Cacapon; three brothers, Eugene F. McManus and Terry L. McManus, both of Great Cacapon, and Albert L. McManus of Paw Paw, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard McManus.
Services were Tuesday at the residence. Steve Dawson, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Fields Family Cemetery in Berkelely Springs, W.Va.

Melven E. Ward
ANANDALE, Va. - Melven E. Ward, of Annandale, Va., and formerly of Hagerstown, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 1996, at Fairfax Nursing Center in Fairfax, Va.
He was the son of the late Venable W. and Mattie Lackey Ward.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Money and King Funeral Home in Vienna, Va. A service will be conducted at the funeral home at 8 p.m.
Burial will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown.
Ruth A. Seiders
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ruth A. Seiders, 71, of 120 Hilltop Drive, Chambersburg, died Monday, Dec. 16, 1996, at her home.
Born July 24, 1925, in Gettysburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late J. Claude Rudisill Sr. and Agnes L. Gebhart Rudisill.
She retired in 1989 after 30 years with Pet Inc. of Chambersburg.
She was a member of King Street United Brethren Church in Chambersburg.
She is survived by her husband, William K. Seiders Jr., whom she married Oct. 12, 1942; one daughter, Shirley Armstrong of New Franklin, Pa.; two sons, William K. Seiders III and Tony A. Seiders, both of Chambersburg; one sister Marcella Clingan of Hanover, Pa.; three brothers, J. Claude Rudisill Jr. and Rodney A. Rudisill, both of Gettysburg, and John Rudisill of Manchester, Md.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, William E. Rudisill.
Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Patrick B. Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.

Betty M. Gross
BOONSBORO, Md. - Betty Mae Gross, 69, of 36 High St., Boonsboro, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1996, in Washington County Hospital.
Born July 18, 1927, at Broadfording, she was the daughter of the late David Franklin Gallion Sr. and Della B. Marr Gallion.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church in Boonsboro.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin L. Gross, whom she married in September, 1950; one daughter, Debra A. Kimbrough of Hagerstown; one son, Alvin W. Gross of Boonsboro; four sisters, Jane Kendall, of Waynesboro, Pa., Mary McLaughlin of Williamsport, Irene Bartles, of Hagerstown, and Louise Thompson of Leitersburg; one brother, David Gallion Jr. of Hagerstown; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Marshall Gallion.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. John W. Zsittnik will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

William H. Wachtel
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - William H. Wachtel, 82, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Dec. 16, 1996, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.
Born Nov. 8, 1914, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Martin L. and Nelle Hess Wachtel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Sutton Wachtel.
He was a 1932 graduate of Martinsburg High School and a 1936 graduate of West Virginia University where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.
He was previously employed as an insurance agent.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
He was a Royal Arch Mason, Lebanon Chapter 2. He was a member of Robert White Lodge 67, AF&AM; Tall Cedars of Lebanon; and the Izaak Walton League. He was a member and past president of the Potomac Highlands Travel Council.
He also was a member of BPO Elks 778 and Martinsburg Lodge 120 Loyal Order of Moose.
He was the local originator of the March of Dimes and the founder of Boy Scout Troop 43, St. John's Lutheran Church. He was an organizer of the Martinsburg Baseball Little League; Pony League; the PeeWee Basketball teams and the Martinsburg Boys and Girls Club.
He is survived by two sons, Richard S. Wachtel and Gregg M. Wachtel, both of Martinsburg; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Martin L. Wachtel II.
Services will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Rev. James D. Riley Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.
