Charles R. Stewart
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Charles Robert Stewart, 66, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 1996, at his home.
Born May 9, 1930, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Clifford B. and Minnie Shipman Stewart.
He retired from the Schmidt's Bakery Co.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joyce Pence Stewart; five daughters, J. Yvonne Eckenrode, Lisa Henry, Rhonda Folz and Candi Rico, all of Martinsburg, and Debra Wasson of Hedgesville, W.Va.; three sisters, Mary Stewart of Chambersburg, Pa., Dorothy Bowers of Hedgesville and Catherine Crawford of Inwwod, W.Va.; two brothers, Lester Stewart and Arthur Stewart, both of Martinsburg; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two stepgreat-grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Mills; and five brothers, Gilbert Butts, Ike Stewart, Kelly Stewart, Eugene Stewart, and Donald Stewart.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. John Yost officiating. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Warren P. Christman
STATE LINE, Pa. - Warren P. Christman, 75, of 468 East Ave., died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 1996, at Chambersburg Hospital in Chambersburg, Pa.
Born April 9, 1921, in St. Thomas, Pa., he was the son of the late Alvin C. and Blanche I. Grove Christman.
His wife, Mary N. Bowman Christman, died in 1989.
He was employed on the family farm, retiring in 1976.
He was a member of Ebenezer United Brethren Church in Greencastle, Pa., since 1957.
He also was a member of Norland Chapter of AARP.
He is survived by one daughter, Beverly G. Souders of Greencastle; five sons, W. Ronald Christman, Renolds G. Christman and Linn G. Christman, all of Chambersburg, LaKee Ed Christman of Greencastle, and Danah C. Christman of Mercersburg, Pa.; three sisters, Edna Knoll, Kathryn Knoll and Mildred Bigham, all of Chambersburg; one brother, George Christman of Chambersburg; a friend, Mae Poe of St. Thomas; 22 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ambrose Christman.
Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Ebenezer United Brethren Church. The Rev. Garry Culler and the Rev. Clarence DeHart Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends at Minnich-Miller-May Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Mary L. Geisler
Mary Lucille Geisler, 71, of 307 Key Ave., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 1996, at Washington County Hospital.
Born near Urbana, Md., on May 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late James Wesley and Martha Brandenburg Geisler.
She attended St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Hagerstown.
She is survived by two sisters, Emma S. Biser of Jefferson, Md., and M. Frances Shafer of Knoxville, Md.; two brothers, William W. Geisler of Mount Airy, Md., and Edwin B. Geisler of Vienna, Va.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth G. Wilcom; and two brothers, James Atlee Geisler and Richard T. Geisler Sr.
Services and burial will be private.
There will be no visitation.

Charles E. Leatherman
MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Charles Edward Leatherman, 77, of 309 W. Main St., died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 1996, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.
Born May 29, 1919, near Middletown, he was the son of the late Floyd and Annie Kate Flook Leatherman.
He had been a farmer in the Middletown area. He had been employed by Hiltner's Furniture Store, Frederick. He retired from the Frederick County Board of Education in 1981.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II in North Africa. He received the Purple Heart.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, and the Men's Bible Class of the church.
He also was a member of Middletown Volunteer Fire Co. and auxiliary; Lawrence Everhart American Legion Post 51 Middletown, and the AARP.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Esther Kepler Leatherman; two sisters, Edna V. Etzler and Rebekah L. McLaren, both of Frederick; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Catherine Leatherman; and four brothers, Albert Calvin Leatherman, Roy Glenn Leatherman, William Marshall Leatherman and John Wheeler Leatherman.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown. The Rev. Donald L. Turley and the Rev. William M. Bucher will officiate. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.
Friends may call today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sunday school room of Zion Lutheran Church. Friends also may call one hour prior to the services at the church.

Jamaal D. Fitzgerald
HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Jamaal Dennis Fitzgerald, 1, of Route 3, died Monday, Dec. 23, 1996, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born Jan. 1, 1995, in Rochester, N.Y., he was the son of Dennis Carl and Diane Lindsey Fitzgerald of Harpers Ferry.
He was a member of Glad Tidings Church in Medina, N.Y.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Kiya Fitzgerald, at home; and one stepsister, Lisa Fitzgerald of Panama City, Fla.
Services will be Monday at Glad Tidings Church in Medina. Burial will be in Box Wood Cemetery, Medina.

C. Ella Reitz
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - C. Ella Reitz, 93, of Menno Haven and formerly of 807 Broad St., died Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996, at Menno Haven.
Born June 1, 1903, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late James Andrew and Rosabell Jones Vinson.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John I. Frey; and by her second husband, George P. Reitz.
She was employed as a cook by Vanderau's Restaurant, Chambersburg, for many years.
She was a member of Cedar Grove Mennonite Church, Greencastle, Pa., and the ladies sewing circle of the church.
She is survived by two sons, Leslie Frey of Colorado Springs, Colo., and John Frey of Fort Loudon, Pa.; one stepdaughter, Mable Baker of Edenville, Pa.; one stepson, Paul Reitz of Edenville; one sister, Rhoda Worthington of Gum Springs, Va.; 15 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Salem Cemetery, Chambersburg. The Rev. Nelson Martin will officiate.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Eugene H. "Obie" Dailey
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Eugene H. "Obie" Dailey, 75, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 1996, at his home.
Born Jan. 31, 1921, in Morgan County, W.Va., he was the son of the late William T. Dailey and Flora Mae Stotler Dailey.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriett Mencer Dailey, in 1991.
He retired in 1986 from Pennsylvania Glass Sand Corp. in Berkeley Springs.
He was a member of Teamsters Local 992 of Hagerstown.
He is survived by six daughters, Sandra Herne, Janet Gregory, Kathy McAnulty and Becky Harvey, all of Berkeley Springs, Deborah Haines of Winchester, Va., and Tonya Ringer of Arkansas; two sons, Dale Dailey and Bill Dailey, both of Berkeley Springs; four sisters, Jane Bohrer, Pearl Johnson, and Betty Lou Tritapoe, all of Berkeley Springs, and Sarah Bell Bryan of Hagerstown; one brother, Junior Dailey of Omaha, Neb.; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Hilda Linaweaver, and one brother, William C. Dailey.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 106 S. Mercer St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Jack Hiles and the Rev. Jack Hiles Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Shade Family Cemetery in Berkeley Springs.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home will be open today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Dorothy M. Heriford
FONTANA, Calif. - Dorothy May "Dottie" Heriford, 41, of Fontana, and formerly of Arlington, Va., died Saturday, Dec. 21, 1996.
Born in Portsmith, Va., she was the daughter of Leonard A. Morrell of Maryland.
She was employed as a bartender by the American Legion, Bloomington, Calif.
She was a member of the Emblem Club BPOE, 2013, Fontana, and American Legion Post 422, Bloomington.
In addition to her father, she is survived by one daughter, Stacey Heriford of Fontana; two sons, Christopher Heriford and Jeffrey Heriford, both of Fontana; three sisters, Denise Baker of Moreno Valley, Calif., Lynette Browand and Sharon Murphy, both of Pennsylvania.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. at American Legion Post 422 in Bloomington. A second memorial service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7526 Alder Ave., Fontana. Burial will be private.
