Blanche M. Kemp
Blanche Mae Kemp, 63, of 72 Manor Dr., Hagerstown, died Friday, Dec. 27, 1996, at Washington County Hospital.
She was born Dec. 26, 1933 in Keedysville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Edward Kemp Sr.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda M. Carter of Hagerstown, Rhoda E. Ernst of Hedgesville, W.Va. and Margaret L. Kemp of Needville, Tenn.; one son, Samuel E. Kemp Jr. of Hagerstown; one sister, Pauline Kane of Boonsboro; nine grandchildren and her companion, Lester G. Carter at home.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Hagerstown. The Rev. Richard D. Godfrey will officiate. Burial will be in Broadfording Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Anna M. Dyer
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Anna M. Dyer, 80, of 349 Stouffer Ave., died Friday, Dec. 27, 1996, at her home.
Born Dec. 29, 1916, near Mercersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Norman J. Eshelman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl C. Dryer on Oct. 20, 1980.
She was employed by the former Stanley Co., Chambersburg.
She attended St. Paul United Methodist Church, Chambersburg.
She is survived by five sisters, Maxine Hodges of Evans, Ga.; Betty Porter, Mary Smith, Esther Gloeckler, all of Chambersburg and Doris Myers of Greencastle, Pa.
Services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg. The Rev. Daniel H. Kelchner will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
Viewing will be held Monday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Earl E. Eichelberger
Earl Eugene Eichelberger, 40, of 19 Avalon Ave., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 30, 1956, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Raymond P. and Julia V. Barnhart Eichelberger.
He was employed by Oak Tree Case Works, Inc., Greencastle, Pa.
He played in various softball and pool leagues.
He is survived by one daughter, Tammy Lynn Eichelberger of Hagerstown; three sisters, Saundra L. Hull, Donna J. Rickard and Bonnie L. Hall, all of Hagerstown; two brothers, Karl L. Eichelberger and Raymond P. Eichelberger Jr., both of Hagerstown; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Pastor Lucille Marquiss will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.at the funeral home.
William F. Butcher
BOONSBORO - William Francis Butcher, 72, of 8315 Mapleville Rd., died Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 16, 1924, in Rockville, Md., he was the son of the late Marion L. and Bessie Harmon Butcher.
He was a former steamfitter in Montgomery County, Md., and retired as owner and operator of Butcher's Corner Store, Mt. Airy, Md.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps having served during World War II. He received the Purple Heart for wounds received during fighting on Guadalcanal.
He was a member of Clopper-Michael Post 10, American Legion, Boonsboro; VFW Post 3285, Frederick, Md.; R.S. Tagg Jr. Chapter for Disabled American Veterans, Hagerstown; National Arbor Day Foundation and National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife, whom he married March 27, 1975, Betty Jane Bowman Butcher; three daughters, Margaret Ann Roche of Ijamsville, Md., Patricia Schoof of Atlanta and Cheryl Butcher of Wheaton, Md.; one son, Robert D. Butcher of Ijamsville; one stepdaughter, Sandra Schubert Brock of Annapolis, Md.; two stepsons, Earl P. Schubert Jr. of Annapolis and William G. Schubert of Houston; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Carl Butcher of William Butcher; one sister, Irene Brahn; and four brothers, Lesley Butcher, Vernon Butcher, Lee Butcher and Kenneth Butcher.
Memorial services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. U.S. Senator William E. Brock will officiate.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Lloyd A. Eby
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Lloyd A. Eby, 76, who died Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996, is survived by a daughter, Lois White of Chambersburg.
Elizabeth Miller
HARRISONBURG, Va. - Elizabeth Miller, 90, of Harrisonburg, died Friday, Dec. 27, 1996, at Sunnyside Presbyterian Retirement Community.
Born July 20, 1906, in Enon Valley, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Rev. William H. and Myrtle Roberts Miller.
She was a graduate of the nursing program at Johns Hopkins University.
She had been employed as head nurse at the Scottish Rite Hospital for Crippled Children, Decatur, Ga. She entered the missionary Church, U.S., in 1953 and served as a medical missionary in Zaire until her retirement in 1973. After her retirement, she lived in Richmond, Va. and continued to nurse at Sheltering Arms Hospital.
She was a veteran of the U.S. Army Nurse Corps having served as a captain during World War II in the Fiji Islands and in northeast India.
She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Adelyn Miller Porterfield and four brothers, Charles Miller, Lawrence Miller, Carroll Miller and Hensel Miller.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Jackson will officiate.

Norma J. Falen
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Norma Jean Falen, 74, of ManorCare Health Services, and formerly of 5500 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville, Pa., died Friday, Dec. 27, 1996, at ManorCare Health Services.
Born June 13, 1922, in New Castle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Grace Wells Sanders.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert John Falen in 1977.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church, Chambersburg.
She is survived by two daughters, Jean L. Jackson of Catesauqua, Pa. and Betty Ann Baldwin of Fayetteville; one sister, Margaret Davenport of Rialto, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Harriett Sanders and one brother, Robert Sanders.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church, 2509 Black Gap Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Daryl M. Elliott will officiate. Burial will be held Monday in Newtown Cemetery, Newtown, Pa.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Anne M.V. Mitchell
QUINCY, Pa. - Anne M. VanSant Mitchell, 98, of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 212 Garfield St., Waynesboro, Pa., died Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996, at the nursing home.
Born Dec. 11, 1898, in Galena, Md., she was the daughter of the late L.R. and Emma H. Hyland VanSant.
She married her husband, William Terry Mitchell in November 1922. He died on Dec. 5, 1977.
She graduated from a private academy and then the Universty of Delaware in 1921 with a degree in education.
She was employed as a substitute teacher by the Waynesboro School District.
She was a member of Saint Mary's Episcopal Church, Waynesboro.
She also was a member of Waynesboro College Club; Waynesboro Hospital Auxiliary; Friends of the Library; Blue Ridge Summit Garden Club and served as a guide at Renfrew, Waynesboro for a number of years.
She is survived by one son, Terry C. Mitchell of Panama City, Fla.; one sister, Catherine D. LeCates; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family at Winchester National Cemetery.
