Arthur J. Weber
CHEWSVILLE - Arthur John "Art" Weber Jr., 50, of 21108 Twin Springs Drive, died Monday, Nov. 25, 1996, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 10, 1946, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Elton B. Doub Weber of Hagerstown and the late Lt. Col. Arthur J. Weber Sr.
A 1964 graduate of Clear Spring High School, he attended Frostburg State University.
He was employed as a draftsman by J.B. Ferguson Co. More recently, he was employed at Fort Ritchie until his retirement in 1994.
He was a member of Classic Car Group 4 Children, Hagerstown, and Mason-Dixon Region Antique Automobile Club of America.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Merry E. Gehr of Clear Spring; two brothers, Adam P. Weber of Big Pool and Karl P. "Pete" Weber of Maugansville; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. E. Reese Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will be open today after 9 a.m. for the convenience of friends and family. Friends also may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Friday.

Isadora H. H. Rowe
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Isadora H. Haugh Rowe, 77, of 102 Garfield St., and of Cross Keys Brethren Home, New Oxford, Pa., since Nov. 21, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 1996, at the home.
Born Aug. 23, 1919, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Ellis B. and Anna Koons Haugh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond R. Rowe, on Nov. 16, 1988. They were married on Feb. 5, 1949.
She was a 1937 graduate of Waynesboro High School. She graduated from Waynesboro Business School.
She was employed by Dr. Kenneth Reynolds, Waynesboro, as an assistant. She then was an assistant salesperson at A&P stores, Waynesboro.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Waynesboro, and the 3-M Sunday School Class of the church.
She also was a member of Beta-Y-Gradale Sorority, Waynesboro; Waynesboro Historical Society; Waynesboro AARP Chapter 739; and the National AARP and Friends of Renfrew. She volunteered for numerous organizations in the area.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara R. Bennett of Staunton, Va., and Kathie E. Nogle of Gettysburg, Pa.; one sister, Jean Houser of Waynesboro; five granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, 30 W. North St., Waynesboro. Pastor Kim L. Blocher and Pastor Don R. Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be in the Burns Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Nellie G. Leather, 98, formerly of 55 E. North Ave., Hagerstown, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 1996. The Rev. Christopher J. Chantelau will officiate at the funeral service on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.
J. Franklin Gilroy
MIDDLETOWN, Md. - J. Franklin "Bud" Gilroy, 65, of 8132A Bolivar Road, died Monday, Nov. 25, 1996, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.
Born April 3, 1931, in Carroll County, Md., he was the son of the late James Miley and Frances Naomi Shank Gilroy.
He was employed as a carpenter by Morgan-Keller, Myersville, Md. He later worked for Bryan Moore, Moore-Land Realty, Myersville. He currently was employed by J.T. McAfee, Sabillasville, Md., as a part-time carpenter.
He was a veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of the Big Oak Lodge, Middletown. He was an avid bowler and played baseball in several leagues in Frederick County.
He is survived by five sisters, Lucille Gilroy, Frances Gilroy, Karen Gilroy and Mina Gilroy, all of Middletown, and Shirley Wiles of Myersville; two brothers, John Jacob Gilroy of Middletown and David P. Gilroy of Hagerstown; two nieces; two nephews; one step-niece; two great-nieces; one great-nephew and one step great-niece.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Koogle; and one brother, James W. Gilroy.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown. The Rev. William H. Bucher will officiate. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.

Anna C. Ruby
WILLIAMSPORT - Anna Catherine Ruby, 81, of Homewood Retirement Center, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 1996, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 2, 1915, in Sharpsburg, she was the daughter of the late Milton Ellsworth and Mary Aleatha Eakle Remsburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leon Ruby, on Nov. 18, 1965.
She was employed by Hagerstown Bookbinding and Printing Co. and George Wolfe Accountants.
She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, Robert L. Ruby of Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Agnes L. Remsburg.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg. The Rev. Ann V. Atkins will officiate.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

Mildred N. B. Kline
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Mildred Naomi Baer Kline, of Albuquerque, 74, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 1996.
Born Nov. 25, 1921, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Zeller Baer.
She received her bachelor of arts degree from Shepherd College, Shepherdstown, W.Va., and her master's degree from Michigan State University.
She taught school in Hagerstown, New York, and Michigan. She taught at Bernalillo Elementary School until her retirement.
She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Albuquerque, and Pala Sola Presbyterian Church, Bradenton, Fla.
She also was a member of the VFW; Rocky Mountain Outdoor Writers and Photography Association and New Mexico Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dr. Robert D. Kline; one daughter, Rebecca Kay Munro of Brandenton; one son, Keith B. Kline of Albuquerque; one brother, Robert M. Baer of Brandenton; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Cassandra L. Haskin, on June 6, 1996.
She was cremated.
Memorial services were held on Nov. 19 at St. John's United Methodist Church.

Lewis S. Mills
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Lewis Samuel Mills, 72, of Berkeley Springs, died Monday, Nov. 25, 1996, at home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born Jan. 6, 1924, in Kabletown, Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Sam Walker Thomas and Bessie Agnes Graynor Mills.
He was employed as a sheet metal mechanic by Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown. He was a part-time U.S. Postal Service mail carrier in Berkeley Springs during the early 1960s. He and his wife owned and operated The News Stand in Berkeley Springs during the 1960s. He worked from 1971 until his retirement in 1985 as a specialist in aircraft structural technology at Andrews Air Force Base, Suitland, Md., and frequently serviced Air Force One. He was in the civilian support section of the 89th Field Maintenance Squadron.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during World War II.
He was a member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church, Berkeley Springs.
He also was a member of Amalgamated Local 842; Deford Lodge 88 A.F.&A.M., Berkeley Springs; Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1483; a lifetime member and past president of Aerie 4244, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Berkeley Springs.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Lucille Lopp Mills; one son, Randy L. Mills of Berkeley Springs; and two grandsons, Jason L. Mills and Jeremy L. Mills, both of Berkeley Springs.
Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs. The Rev. Mary Gebe Stevens will officiate. Burial will be private.
Herbert L. Wood Jr.
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Herbert L. Wood Jr., 68, of Falling Waters, died Monday, Nov. 25, 1996, at his home under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born Sept. 19, 1928, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Herbert L. and Emily Tharpe Wood Sr.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cozetta Brown Wood.
He was a 1946 graduate of Martinsburg High School, Martinsburg, W.Va.
He retired after 28 years with the U.S. Air Force. He then was employed by Harpers Ferry National Park Service.
He was a member of Pikeside United Methodist Church.
He also was a member of American Legion Post 202, Williamsport.
He is survived by one daughter, Pamela Jane Allen of Fredericksburg, Va.; two sons, Edgar L. Wood of Clermont, Fla., and Richard S. Wood of Winston-Salem, N.C.; one sister, Doris Jean White of Springfield, Va.; one brother, Robert E. Wood of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Lowery Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.

Howard J. Henry
WINCHESTER, Va. - Howard James Henry, 82, of Hilltop House, and formerly of Martinsburg, W.Va., died Monday, Nov. 25, 1996, at Hilltop House.
Born Nov. 19, 1914, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Starless and Mamie Henry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie L. Henry, in 1991.
He retired from Corning Glass Works in 1979.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Martinsburg.
He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Crowder of Martinsburg and Karen Reid of Winchester; one sister, Pearl Tedrick of Martinsburg; one brother, Doug Henry of Martinsburg; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Rhonda Henry; and two brothers, Bill Henry and Andrew Henry.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dwayne Casteel officiating.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
