Stacy L. Hoffmaster
FREDERICK, Md. - Stacy Lynn Hoffmaster, 15, of 46 Hamilton Ave., died Nov. 1, 1996, in Frederick.
Born Nov. 10, 1980, in Frederick, she was the daughter of Vickie Lynn Zittle Hoffmaster and the late Herbert G. Hoffmaster, who died in 1992.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two brothers, Michael R. Zittle and Christopher M. Hoffmaster, both at home; maternal grandmother, Nancy Zittle of Frederick, paternal grandparents, Herbert and Bonnie Hoffmaster of Frederick; and many aunts and uncles.
Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Home, 1201 N. Market St., Frederick.
There will be no visitation.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
Jackson K. Ringer
Jackson Kenneth Ringer, 81, of Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 1996, at Stella Maris Hospice, Towson, Md.
He was born in Maryland on Oct. 26, 1915.
He was the former owner of Ringers Home Laundry, Hagerstown.
He was a member of First Christian Church of Hagerstown.
He also was a member of Friendship Lodge 84 A.F.&.A.M.; lifetime member of Tall Cedars of Hagerstown, 95; Past Grand Tall Cedar 1965; Ithiel Chapter 27 R.A.M.; Palestine Council 16 R & S; St. Bernard Commandery 9 K.T.; Ali Ghan Shrine; Oriental Band; Hagerstown Shrine Club; Morris Frock Legion 42; and Hagerstown Elks B.P.O. 378.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis LaRue Hepperie Ringer; two daughters, Patricia LaRue Doering of Fallston, Md., and Jacqueline Lee McCosh; one sister, Agatha Schaffer of Fort Loudon, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown. The Rev. Mark Curran will officiate.

M. Kenneth Ring
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - M. Kenneth Ring, 77, of Rt. 6, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1996, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born Nov. 13, 1919, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Alfred C. and Nellie Smallwood Ring.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Grove Ring.
He retired as a self-employed contractor.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, 9th Air Force, having served during World War II as 2nd Lt. Bombardier.
He was a member of the Independent Bible Church.
He was past president of the Berkeley County Taxpayers Associations.
He is survived by one sister, Dorothy Barney of Savannah, Ga.; two brothers, W. Mark Ring and H. Meade Ring, both of Martinsburg; two nieces and two nephews.
Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Mark Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Olive L. Walker
BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Olive L. Walker, 82, of Rt. 1, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1996, at her home.
Born April 15, 1914, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Bertha Furley Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Walker.
She retired as a nursing assistant from Kings Daughters Hospital.
She was a member of Mt. View Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by two daughters, Joann M. Burleson and Kitty R. Misiewicz, both of Bunker Hill; one son, Charles L. Walker of Bunker Hill; one brother, Charles M. Bennett of Martinsburg, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Wesley Bennett and Berkeley T. Bennett.
Services were held today at 11 a.m. at Mt. View Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Carl Burleson officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Muriel O. Koontz
GREAT CACAPON, W.Va. - Muriel O. Koontz, 83, of Great Cacapon, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1996, at her son's home in Great Cacapon.
Born July 28, 1913, in the Mt. Nebo section of Great Cacapon, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Gertrude Lucinda Foreback Allen.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert W. Koontz Sr. on March 2, 1991.
She attended Great Cacapon public schools.
She was employed as a drill press operator, Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown, during the 1950s. She also was employed as a cook by the Great Cacapon Elementary School, retiring in the mid 1960s. She had also been a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Carnahan of Carnegie, Pa.; two sons, Robert W. Koontz Jr. of Great Cacapon, and Roy E. Koontz of Gainesville, Va.; one sister, Daisy Goodwin of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Viola Riley and Opal Wharton.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Orleans Crossroads, W.Va. Pastor Roger E. Burtner will officiate. Burial will be in Great Cacapon Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union St., Berkeley Springs, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. The funeral home will be open until 9 p.m. today for the convenience of friends.

Harry D. "Don" Clever, 79, of 11006 Larch Ave., Hagerstown, who died Saturday, Dec. 28, 1996, is also survived by a stepdaughter, Sharon L. Mollo of Hagerstown.

CHESTNUT HILL, W.Va. - C. Herman Garrett, 80, of Chestnut Hill, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1996, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born Aug. 25, 1916, if Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of the late William Franklin and Sally Ann Hawk Garrett.
He retired from the U.S. Steel Corp., Millville, W.Va.
He was a member of the Chestnut Hill Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lillian Wilt Garrett; three sisters, Pauline Alger, Bertha Deck, both of Ranson, and Nettie Longerbeam of Charles Town, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Geneva Loy, and one brother, Havey Garrett.
Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church. The Rev. Henry L. Fisher and the Rev. B. Guilford Turner will officiate. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery.

Dorothy Louise Fiery, 83, of Ravenwood Lutheran Village, Hagerstown, who died Sunday, Dec. 29, 1996, was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hagerstown.
Helen M. Hendrickson
THURMONT, Md. - Helen May Hendrickson, 76, of Thurmont, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997, at St. Catherine's Nursing Home, Emmitsburg, Md.
Born May 22, 1920, in Frederick County, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles F. Lewis and Ethel Virginia Fogle.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Willard of Thurmont; one granddaughter, Kinbra Grimm of Thurmont; and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by three sisters.
Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Home, 615 E. Main St., Thurmont. The Rev. Richard A. Zamostny will officiate. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont.

Mary K. K. Alger Travell
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Mary Kenna Knott Alger Travell, 92, of Charles Town, died Monday, Dec. 30, 1996, at the Knott Nursing Home in Charles Town.
Born Jan. 13, 1904, in Linden Springs Farm, Molers Cross Roads, Shepherdstown, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William Jackson Knott Jr. and Kate May Thomas Knott.
She was preceded in death by her husband Shirley E. Alger who died in 1962.
She was a graduate of Shepherdstown High School and attended Shepherd College.
She was owner and operator of the Knott Nursing Home in Charles Town from 1959 until 1985, continuing ownership until her death. She also was a beautician in Charles Town.
She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Charles Town.
She was a member of Bee-Line Chapter of the daughters of the American Revolution, also United Daughters of the Confederacy, Chapter 261 of Charles Town.
She also was a member of Wayside Garden Club, a former member of CharlesTown Women's Club and a volunteer for many years at Jefferson County Health Department in the Baby clinic.
She is survived by one son, Shirley Knott Alger of Towson, Md.; two grandchildren jane D. Ishman and Susan H. Pfeffer; two great-grandchildren; and a long-time companion Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Wall of Charles Town.
Services were held today at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town. The Rev. James Chambly officiated. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Shepherdstown.
