Services for Walter G. Lyons, 93, of Crystal Falls Drive, Hagerstown, who died Saturday, Dec. 28, 1996, will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church, 11507 Robinwood Drive, Hagerstown. Pastor Tim Roosenberg will officiate.
J. Orville Elliott
SOUTH MOUNTAIN, Pa. - J. Orville Elliott, 80, of Michaux Manor Living Center and formerly of Worleytown Road, Greencastle, Pa., died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997, at Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro, Pa.
Born Feb. 11, 1916, in Welsh Run, Pa., he was the son of the late J. Melvin and Elizabeth Divilbiss Elliott.
He was a lifelong farmer. He also worked as a brakeman on the former Western Maryland Railroad, Hagerstown, retiring in 1981.
He is survived by his wife, Mayetta Etter Elliott of Greencastle; one daughter, Beverly A. Alleman of Chambersburg, Pa.; three sons, Ronald E. Elliott and Daniel O. Elliott, both of Greencastle, and Kenneth L. Elliott of Chambersburg; two sisters, Beulah Martin of Chambersburg and Helen Yanss of Yardley, Pa.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Harold Elliott, and six sisters and brothers.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Raymond Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Welsh Run Church of the Brethren Cemetery, near Welsh Run.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Anna M. Perry
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Anna May Perry, 87, of 5461 Greenvillage Road, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Feb. 16, 1909, in Scotland, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Virginia Gondz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira I. Perry on April 5. 1981.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Coldspring United Brethren Church, Fayetteville, Pa.
She is survived by three sons, Glenn W. Perry of Shippensburg, Pa., Donald R. Perry of Newburg, Pa. and Raymond E. Perry at home; one sister who resided with her, Mary V. Gondz; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters and one son.
Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Daryl M. Elliott and the Rev. Christopher T. Little will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Chambersburg.
Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Elmer P. Kirby Jr.
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Elmer P. Kirby Jr., 77, of Franklin County Nursing Home, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born May 5, 1919, in Hinton, W.Va., he was the son of the late Elmer P. and Lula Dolan Kirby Sr. and the stepson of the late Elda Kirby.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by three nephews, Gary L. Kirby of Honolulu, Thomas L. Kirby of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Dan H. Kirby of Baltimore.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles L. Kirby, in 1979.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg. The Rev. Stuart I. Troutman will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
Jackson K. Ringer

Julia C. W. Fleagle
THURMONT, Md. - Julia C. Wastler "Grandma" Fleagle, 80, of Thurmont, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, at Gettysburg Hospital, Gettysburg, Pa.
Born May 26, 1916, in Frederick County, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles Bernard and Margaret Elizabeth Webb Wastler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Albert Fleagle on March 18, 1995.
She was a life member of Apple's United Church of Christ, Thurmont.
She also was a member of the Thurmont Senior Citizens; was an avid bowler in Frederick County and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Georgette Stitely of Thurmont; one son, Richard Fleagle of Thurmont; nine grandchildren, Annette Kelley, Richard Fleagle, Tom Davis II, Loretta Stouter, Michael Davis, Susie Johnson, Karen Stitely, Jeff Stitely and Brian Stitely; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Doris Fitzgerald of Thurmont.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley L. Davis on Dec. 10, 1994; three sisters, Hilda Fleagle, Mabel Troxell and Dorothy Welsh; and six brothers, Chester Wastler, Raymond Wastler, Arthur Wastler, Edgar Wastler, Lloyd Waster and Merhl Wastler.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Thurmont Funeral Home of Robert E. Dailey & Son, 615 E. Main St. The Rev. David Denham will officiate. Burial will be in Apple's Church Cemetery, Thurmont.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Clarence E. Reeder
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Clarence E. Reeder, 94, of Menno Haven, and formerly of 88 Minnich Road, and Westminster, Md., died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, at Menno Haven.
Born July 21, 1902, in Wormleysburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Thomas E. and Ella Mae Myers Reeder.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hope Jennie Hammond Reeder, on May 25, 1989.
He was employed by Baltimore Gas and Electric Co., Baltimore, retiring in 1965 after more than 40 years of service.
He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Chambersburg.
He also was a member of the Door to Virtue Lodge 46 F. & A.M., Westminster.
He is survived by two daughters, Hope June Loomis of Baltimore and Beryl Jean Price of Chambersburg; two sisters, Grace Knopf of Chambersburg and Ruth Handshaw of Waynesboro, Pa.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Harold E. Posey will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.
Visitation will be held Sunday one half hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted by members of George Washington Lodge 143 F. & A.M. at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Rev. Ralph C. Wise
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Ralph C. Wise, 73, of 10332 Old Forge Road, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born June 7, 1923, in Bath, N.Y., he was the son of the late George Carl and Stella Rarrick Wise.
He was a 1941 graduate of Haverling High School, New York. He attended Bible College near Philadelphia for three years.
He was employed by the Frick Co., Waynesboro, in the foundry. He then worked at Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro, in the maintenance department., serving as a foreman and finally as a crane operator. He retired from the company in 1982 after 36 years of service.
He was the first pastor to serve the Glen Furney Assembly of God Church. He served there for 36 years, retiring in 1981. He continued officiating at weddings and funerals until his death. He was pastor emeritus of Glen Furney Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife of more than 54 years, Mary M. Morse Wise; four daughters, Karen J. Prieser of Trinidad; Rae Esther Sisek of Niles, Ohio, Dianne M. Kipe of Waynesboro and Faith E. Scott of Harrisburg, Pa.; seven sons, Emery R. Wise of Columbus, Ga., Lynn A. Wise of Hubbard, Ohio, Lowell E. Wise of Lodi, N.Y., Thomas Wise of East Greenville, Pa., Timothy J. Wise, Stephen D. Wise and Dale B. Wise, all of Waynesboro; one sister, Clara Leonard of Kanona, N.Y.; five brothers, Franklin Wise of Lancaster, Pa., Richard "Dick" Wise of Titusville, Fla., Robert T. Wise of Sun City, Ariz., David Wise of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and the Rev. Jack Wise of Lakeland Fla.; 27 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ray Carl Wise and one brother, Eldon Wise.
Services will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m., at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 116 Snider Ave., Waynesboro. The Rev. Neville H. West and the Rev. Walter A. Stuart will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Quincy, Pa.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro and one hour prior to the services at the church.
