Nathan R. Henry
HARRISONVILLE, Pa. - Nathan R. Henry, 73, of HCR 74, died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, Pa.
Born Aug. 21, 1923, in Clear Ridge, Pa., he was the son of Smith and Martha Ramsey Henry.
He was employed by JLG Industries, McConnellsburg until his retirement in 1989. Prior to that he was a self-employed truck driver for 11 years. He had also been a school bus operator and a farmer.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II.
He was a member of Center United Methodist Church, Waterfall, Pa., where he was a former treasurer and trustee.
He also was a member of the American Legion, Hummelstown, Pa.; and a life member of Hustontown Area Volunteer Fire Co.
He is survived by his wife, Bernita Cutchall Henry, whom he married on Jan. 9, 1945; one daughter, Hope Clark of Swissvale, Pa.; one son, Nathan Henry II of Hustontown; three sisters, Lois Morton of St. Thomas, Pa., Carolyn Mills of Hustontown and Doris Jean Hohman of McConnellsburg; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at M. R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown. Pastor George Clippinger will officiate. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Waterfall.
Friends may call today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday.
Kleora M. Forsyth
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Kleora "Bobbie" Magdalene Forsyth, 68, of Chambersburg, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Friday, Jan. 3, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 7, 1928, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Harry Herman and Mary Magdalene Montgomery Gower.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Forsyth Sr., on March 9, 1991.
She was employed by Reisners, Inc. and Mack Truck, Inc., Hagerstown. She also had been a homemaker.
She was a member of Evangel Baptist Church, Hagerstown, where she taught in the Awana Program.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Jo Linn of Chambersburg and Teresa Marlene Freeman of Coudersport, Pa.; three sons, Robert Lee Forsyth Jr. of Hedgesville, W.Va., David Allen Forsyth of Hagerstown and Michael Dean Forsyth of Big Pool; four sisters, Cora Emma Koontz, Gloria Jean Basore, Judy Ann Chaney, all of Hagerstown, and Mary Lee Hall of Hollywood, Md.; three brothers, the Rev. Robert Lee Gower of Manassas, Va., Richard Eugene Gower of Hagerstown and the Rev. Charles Edwin Gower of Martinsburg, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Jason Martin of Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Jane Powichroski and Lula Mae Miller; and two brothers, Harry William Allen Gower and Larry Gene Gower.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Evangel Baptist Church, 17922 Broadfording Road, Hagerstown. The Rev. Ernest Thompson, the Rev. Robert Gower and the Rev. Charles Gower will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Helen Morris
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Helen Morris, 85, a resident of Menno-Haven Nursing Home, and formerly of 13555 Main St., Fort Loudon, Pa., died Sunday, Jan. 5, 1997, at the nursing home.
Born March 24, 1911, in St. Thomas Township, Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John and Charlotte Belle Walck Malone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur A. Morris, in 1989.
She was a former employee of the former U-Wanna-Wash Frock Factory in Fort Loudon.
She was a member of Fort Loudon United Methodist Church, where she attended regularly before entering Menno-Haven. She was a member of Women's Society of Christian Service.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Fritz of Chambersburg; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg, Pa. The Rev. Kenneth E. Miller and the Rev. William J. Kesecker will officiate. Burial will be in Stenger Hill Cemetery, Fort Loudon.
There will be no viewing.

Elizabeth H. Stallings
Elizabeth Hull Stallings, 85, of 908 Kenley Ave., Hagerstown, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997, at her home.
Born April 14, 1911, in Big Spring, she was the daughter of the late J. Larence and Susan Dorothy Trumpower Hull.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Blair Lee Stallings, in 1971.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Funkstown.
She is survived by one son, Richard Stallings of Maugansville; and one grandson, Bryan L. Stallings of Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Thomas L. Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Hazel L. Mills
Hazel L. Mills, 71, of 1557 Crest View Drive, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 1997, at her home.
Born Aug. 9, 1925, in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Edgar W. and Ava M. Weller Shives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester V. Mills, in 1987.
She was a retired employee of E.J. Fennel Co. of Hagerstown.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She was a member of AARP.
She is survived by two daughters, Imogene V. Edwards and Mary G. Gipe, both of Hagerstown; one sister, Laverne Barney of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; two half-sisters, Phyllis Jensen of Sun City, Ariz., and Bonnie Gordon of Berkeley Springs; three half-brothers, Wayne Younker of Hancock, Robert Shives and Marshall Younker Sr., both of Berkeley Springs; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Thurman E. Mills; and three half-brothers, Richard Shives, Homer Shives and Donald Younker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 224 W. Washington St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Jack Fullen will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Visitation will be at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., where prayers will be offered at 7 p.m.
Shirley J. Ryder
MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Shirley J. Ryder, 62, of 4704 Charlestown Road, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 1997, at her home.
Born July 19, 1934, in Upton, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Carl L. and Alma Gilbert Rock.
She was a graduate of Greencastle High School.
Following graduation, she was employed by the former Stanley Co. in Chambersburg for a number of years.
She was a member of Charlestown United Methodist Church of Mercersburg.
She enjoyed baking, sewing and power walking.
She is survived by her husband, M. William Ryder, whom she married on May 1, 1954; three daughters, Nancy St. Clair of Hagerstown, Jane Stewart of Chambersburg and Kathy Miller of Greencastle, Pa.; two sons, William L. Ryder of St. Thomas, Pa., and James A. Ryder of El Paso, Texas; two sisters, Barbara Williams of Gettysburg, Pa., and Carole Rock of Lafayette, La.; three brothers, Ronald Rock of Williamsport, Pa., Jeffrey Rock of West Henrietta, N.Y., and Randall Rock of Greencastle; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Charlestown United Methodist Church, 13826 Buchanan Trail West, Mercersburg. The Rev. Samuel L. Sheffler and the Rev. Milton Benny will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
There will be no viewing.

Joann A.H. Seilhamer
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Joann A. Haas Seilhamer, 62, of 407 W. Third St., died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pa.
Born Nov. 12, 1934, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of Mildred M. Kissinger of Waynesboro and the late Kenneth E. Haas.
She was a 1952 graduate of Waynesboro High School.
Following graduation, she worked for a short time as a secretary for Frick Co., Waynesboro, then as a secretary for Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, for four years. She then worked as a customer service representative for Investors Loan Co. of Waynesboro for 24 years. She also worked 12 years as a bank teller at Citizens Bank in the Waynesboro Mall, retiring in 1996.
She was a member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for the youth of the church. She sang with the choir for more than 25 years.
She was a member of National AARP.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Marlin N. Seilhamer, whom she married on Aug. 8, 1952; one daughter, Kathy S. Griffith of San Antonio; two sons, Terry L. Seilhamer of Butler, Pa., and Kim A. Seilhamer of Waynesboro; and four grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 117 S. Church St., Waynesboro. The Rev. John Paul Holsey and the Rev. Brent K. Driver will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

Rev. J. Herbert Zook
QUINCY, Pa. - The Rev. J. Herbert Zook, 89, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 265 N. Carlisle St., Greencastle, Pa., died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997, at Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro, Pa.
Born May 21, 1907, in Goshen, Ind., he was the son of the late John and Polly E. Plank Zook.
He was a 1927 graduate of Goshen High School and attended Goshen College. He graduated from South Bend Business College in South Bend, Ind., in 1929.
He retired in 1972 after 43 years as an accountant and bookkeeper in various businesses in the LaPorte, Ind., area. He also was a retired minister in the Church of the Brethren and served more than 50 years in various capacities.
He was a member of Greencastle Church of the Brethren, where he served as a teacher for the Berean Sunday School Class and served 20 years as the church secretary.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley B. Cross Zook, a resident of Wynbrier Retirement Home, Waynesboro; two daughters, Sally Furukawa of Greencastle and Mary Esther Anderson of York, Pa.; one sister, Catherine Bagwell of Orange, Calif.; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two nieces; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Greencastle Church of the Brethren, 36 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Robert Thacker and the Rev. Donald Plank will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
