Thera E. Kahler
Thera Emerson Kahler, 97, of 14014 Marsh Pike, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 1997, at Avalon Manor Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 14, 1899, in Lincoln, Neb., she was the daughter of the late Rollins Adams and Harriet Hardin Emerson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Kahler.
She was the founder and former member of the Painting Club and Ceramics Club in Rossmore, Silver Spring, Md. She was a member of the Writers Club.
She is survived by three daughters, Ann Kahler Briggs of Washington Grove, Md., Alice Marshall of Camp Hill, Pa., and Irene Fielding of Bainbridge, Ga.; and one son, Herbert Kahler of Hagerstown.
There will be no services.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing.
Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
Edna S. Gall
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Edna Summers Gall, 96, of Berkeley Springs, died Monday, Jan. 6, 1997, at Valley View Nursing Home, Berkeley Springs.
Born Sep. 21, 1900, in Marquees, Preston County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Oliver and Olive Flora Shafer Summers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, O.H. Gall.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church, Moundsville, W.Va.
She was a member of Moundsville Women's Club and Women's Society of Christian Service.
She was the past treasurer of the Women's Society.
She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution in Moundsville and Order of the Eastern Star in Belington, W.Va.
She is survived by one daughter, Martha Ann Breakall of Berkeley Springs; two sisters, Alice Bertha Bebee of Berkeley Springs and Virginia Ruth Douglas of Belle, W.Va.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, George Thomas Gall; one sister, Ada May Summers; and one brother, Creed Mason Summers.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Grisell Funeral Home, Moundsville.
The Rev. William Calhoun will officiate.
Burial will be in Belington Fraternal Cemetery, Belington.
Friends will be received at Grisell Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Meda M. Crouse
Meda Mae Crouse, 79, of 115 N. Jonathan St., Hagerstown, died Monday, Jan. 6, 1997, at Clearview Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born Oct. 19, 1917, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Agusta H. and Myrtle Miller Malott.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Monroe Crouse Sr., in 1966.
She was employed by Hagerstown Shoe Co. in the 1940s.
She owned and operated a restaurant in Hagerstown in the 1960s.
She was employed by Meda's Tavern in Hagerstown from the 1960s through the 1970s.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Hagerstown.
She was a member of Aerie 694 Fraternal Order of Eagles, Hagerstown; Red Feather Council 59 Degree of Pocahontas, Williamsport; and Hagerstown Lodge 378 BPO Elks Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, Richard M. Crouse Jr. of Hagerstown and Ronald E. Crouse of Mentor, Ohio; five grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; five great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Geneve Dunham.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The Rev. Eddie Blackmon will officiate.
Friends may call at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral home will be open Wednesday after 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.

Mary E. Harris
Mary E. Harris, 18, of Jugtown Road, Hagerstown, and formerly of Cavetown, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 1997, in Martinsburg, W.Va., as the result of an automobile accident.
Born Dec. 25, 1978, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Geraldine V. Collins Harris of Hagerstown and the late John Bennie Harris III.
She was a 1996 graduate of Smithsburg High School.
She was employed at Reeder's Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by one sister, Anne M. Davis of Hagerstown; maternal grandparents, Mary and Joseph Collins of Glen Burnie, Md.; paternal grandfather, John Bennie Harris Jr. of Cavetown; two aunts; one uncle; and two nephews.
Services will be Thursday at noon at George J. Gonce Funeral Home, 4001 Ritchie Highway, Baltimore.
The Rev. Warren Ebinger will officiate.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Baltimore.
The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg today from 7 to 9 p.m.
William F. Blenard
William Fred Blenard, 97, of 139 Elm St., Hagerstown, died Monday, Jan. 6, 1997, at Homewood Nursing Home, Williamsport.
Born Aug. 21, 1899, in Hopewell, Md., he was the son of the late Emma J. Blenard.
He was employed for a number of years by Southern Ribbon Co. in Hagerstown.
He was a member of Antietam Fire Co.
He is survived by one daughter, Frances I. Stoner of Williamsport.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
The Rev. Alfred E. Smith will officiate.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service Thursday.
