Jerry L. Gillenwater
BOONSBORO - Jerry Lee Gillenwater, 54, died Monday, Jan. 6, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
He was employed as an auto body technician.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Vietnam War.
He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by two daughters, Denise Ann Ringley of Williamsport and Missy Lynn Prior of Cameron, N.C.; one son, Thomas Ryan Gillenwater of Boonsboro; two sisters, Judy Heitmuller of Fort Collins, Colo., and Jackie Loduca of Penbroke Pines, Fla.; one brother, Jeffrey Logan Gillenwater of Virginia Beach, Va.; three grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Dungannon Baptist Church, Dungannon, Va. The Rev. Kelly Carter and the Rev. Stevie Collins will officiate. Burial will be in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Va.
The family will receive friends today after 6 p.m. at Sturgill Funeral Home, Coeburn, Va. Friends also may call at the church one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Davida V. McFarland
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Davida Vlcek McFarland, 47, of Martinsburg, died Monday, Jan. 6, 1997, at City Hospital.
Born Jan. 8, 1949, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Frank Anton Vlcek of Silver Spring, Md., and the late Dorothy Barry Vlcek.
She received her bachelor of arts degree in sociology from St. Mary of the Woods in Terra Haute, Ind.
She was employed as an office manager by Community Networks, Inc., Martinsburg.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Ian Ross McFarland; one son, Nicholas Anton McFarland, at home; and one brother, Edward F. Vlcek of Columbia, Md.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at Old St. Johns Church, Forest Glen Road, Silver Spring. The Rev. David Barry will be celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd., West, Silver Spring.

Daniel M. Byers
MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Daniel M. Byers, 80, of 4343 Fort Loudon Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997, at his home.
Born March 2, 1916, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late John and Katie Meyers Byers.
He was a self-employed farmer until his retirement.
He was a member of Emmanuel Fellowship Church, Edenville, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Miriam Miller Byers, whom he married in 1938; three daughters, Ruth Burkholder of Chambersburg, Pa., Mary Rubeck of Greencastle, Pa., and Martha Funk of Mercersburg; seven sons, Ray Byers and Nathan Byers, both of Middleburg, Pa., Alvin Byers of Broadway, Va.; Ben Byers and Myron Byers, both of Mercersburg, Timothy Byers of Mt. Herman, Ky. and John Byers of Somerset, Pa.; four sisters, Sue Byers and Louise Musser, both of Chambersburg, Catherine Sollenberger of St. Thomas, Pa., and Nora Pugh of Shippensburg, Pa.; one brother, Charles Byers of Chambersburg; 58 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and one granddaughter.
Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Upton Church of the Brethren. Brother Tom Rock, Lynn Miller and James Weaver will officiate. Burial will be in Meyers Cemetery, Mercersburg.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 6492 Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas. For the convenience of family and friends the funeral home will be open from 2 to 9 p.m.

Susie E. Kaetzel
BOONSBORO - Susie E. Kaetzel, 91, of Reeders Memorial Home, and formerly of Myersville, Md., died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997, at Reeders Memorial Home.
Born July 9, 1905, in Middletown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo S. and Ellen F. Klipp Miller.
She retired in 1980 after many years with the Dan Dee Restaurant, Frederick, Md.
She was a life-long member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Myersville.
She is survived by one daughter, Jane Blickenstaff of Myersville; two sisters, Helen Rice and Virginia Eichelberger, both of Myersville; one brother, Harold Miller of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Myersville. The Rev. Norman D. Kemmerer will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Myersville.

Elmer Mathney
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Elmer Mathney, 84, of Caledonia Manor Nursing Home, and formerly of 25 N. Potomac St., Waynesboro, Pa., died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997, at the nursing home.
He was born May 15, 1912, in Virginia.
He was employed as a carpenter, mason, and tender by various companies.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II in the European Theater.
He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Waynesboro.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Ruby Tyler Mathney, whom he married April 14, 1955; one daughter, Ruby Marie Gladhill of Waynesboro; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Pastor Roger E. Keech will officiate. Burial will be in Jacob's Church Cemetery, Liberty Township, Pa.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.

Christopher M. George
MONT ALTO, Pa. - Christopher M. "Chris" George, 38, of 303 Park St., died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997, at his home.
Born Oct. 5, 1958, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of Doris J. Naugle George of Waynesboro, Pa., and the late G. William George.
He was a 1977 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School. He attended Penn State/Mont Alto Campus for one year, then transferred to the main campus at State College, Pa. He was a 1991 graduate of Salisbury State University, obtaining a bachelor of science degree.
A 16 1/2-year veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Persian Gulf War. He retired due to illness.
He was a member of the Eagles Club, Inc., Waynesboro, and Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15, Waynesboro.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Wanda S. Benshoff George, whom he married on Nov. 10, 1985; two daughters, April C. George and Andrea E. George, both at home; one son, Adam C. George at home; three sisters, Teresa E. Reed of Waynesboro, Emily A. Interrante of Downingtown, Pa., and Julia E. Trei of Mont Alto; one brother, Michael W. George of Richmond, Va.; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Waynesboro Bible Church, 8216 Stottlemyer Road, Waynesboro. Pastor Robert Fitz will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Quincy, Pa.

Linda K. Delauter
MYERSVILLE, Md. - Linda K. Delauter, 53, of Wolfsville Road, died Monday, Jan. 6, 1997, at her home.
Born Nov. 5, 1943, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Shirley Landbeck Keller of Braddock Heights, Md., and the late Joseph Hugh Keller Sr.
She was employed as a Frederick County Public School bus driver for 25 years.
She was a member of Grossnickle Church of the Brethren where she served as a deacon, was a Sunday school teacher, the Christian Education Chair, the Kids Klub Coordinator and was director of Vacation Bible School.
She also was a member of Beaver Creek Golf Club; the School Bus Contractors Association and Farhney Keedy Auxiliary.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Charles E. Delauter; three sons, Daniel Delauter and Matthew Delauter, both of Myersville, and Michael Delauter of Thurmont, Md.; two brothers, Joseph H. Keller Jr. of Dover, Ohio, and John Charles Keller of Yorketown, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Amy Elizabeth Delauter.
Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Myersville. The Rev. Ronald A. Beverlin will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Rosa Greco
Rosa Greco, 84, of 1930 Winston Drive, Hagerstown, died Monday, Jan. 6, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 6, 1912, in Partinico, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Adotta Lobianco.
Her husband, Dominick Greco, died in 1953.
She attended St. Ann Catholic Church, Hagerstown.
She is survived by one daughter, Caterina Greco DiMercurio of Hagerstown; one son, Peter Greco of Glendora, Calif.; one sister, Angela Lobianco of Partinico, Italy; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Andrew S. Mohl as celebrant. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
