CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Services for Terry E. Greenawalt, 47, of 445 Paul Ave., who died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997, will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg.
The Rev. Earl E. Mills will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.
Friends may call Friday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ruth K. Whitney
Ruth Kathleen Whitney, 96, formerly of 11 W. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1996, at Ravenwood Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born Dec. 7, 1900, in Mt. Holly Springs, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George P. and Bessie M. Reighter Riggleman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Whitney, in 1972.
She was known for her home-baked goods.
She was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hagerstown.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Jane Sanderson Lynch of Hagerstown; two great-nieces; and one great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Chloe Benedict Morrison; one brother, G. Philip Riggleman; and one nephew.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Christopher J. Chantelau will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday one hour prior to the service.
Gloriadean Nicholas
GERRARDSTOWN, W.Va. - Gloriadean Nicholas, 54, of Gerrardstown, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997, at her home.
Born Oct. 20, 1942, in Marmaduke, Ark., she was the daughter of Denver and Pauline Rogers Nicholas of Gerrardstown.
She was a 1972 graduate of Arkansas State University School of Nursing.
She was employed as a registered nurse by Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville, Md. She also had worked at other local hospitals.
She is survived by two daughters, Carla Garner Moore of St. Louis and Latisha Garner Carter of Gerrardstown; and five grandchildren, Neely Moore, Caleigh Moore, Anthony Garner, Emily Carter and Beth Carter.
Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Heath Funeral Home, Paragould, Ark. Burial will be in New Friendship Cemetery, Paragould.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg and Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Heath Funeral Home.
Janet L. Arnett
SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Janet Lee Arnett, 55, of Shenandoah Junction, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997, at University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Feb. 20, 1941, in Manistique, Mich., she was the daughter of Alice Whitman Marsh of Shenandoah Junction and the late Eugene Marsh.
She retired from the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
She was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church, Charles Town, W.Va.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Charles F. Arnett; two sons, Gary Arnett of Beltsville, Md., and Wayne Arnett of Shenandoah Junction; two stepdaughters, Donna Arnett of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Wanda Eller of Kearneysville, W.Va.; one sister, Judy Tressler of Shenandoah Junction; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home. The Rev. George Wennerberg will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Friends will be received Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Susan M. Taylor
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Susan M. Taylor, 90, of Charles Town, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 8, 1906, in Summit Point, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Bessie Thornton Taylor.
She was employed as a sales clerk by a dry cleaning establishment in Atlantic City, N.J., until her retirement.
She was a member of Wainwright Baptist Church.
She also was a member of the Golden Age Club.
She is survived by one niece, Dorothy M. Lewis of Summit Point; one nephew, Alvin N. Taylor of Newark, Del.; and great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Willis Taylor, Ellsworth Taylor and Joseph Taylor.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Gibsontown, W.Va. The Rev. Walter Jackson will officiate.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Saturday at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home, Ranson, W.Va.
Deborah Morgan
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Deborah Morgan, 46, of Martinsburg, and formerly of Falls Church, Va., died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born Aug. 4, 1950, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of Ray Morgan and the late Anna Belle Orr Loy. She was the stepdaughter of Richard Loy of Falls Church.
She was a member of the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church at Four Mile Woods and had attended the Capitol Baptist Church in Annandale, Va.
She was an avid bowler and bingo player.
In addition to her father and stepfather, she is survived by a half sister, Tammy Kidwiler of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; a half brother, Paul Morgan of New York; two aunts; one uncle; and a close friend, Joyce Miller of Martinsburg.
Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Full Gospel Pentecostal Church. The Rev. Oscar Motilal and the Rev. Steve Reynolds will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.

Steve A. Hess Sr.
GERRARDSTOWN, W.Va. - Steve Allen Hess Sr., 42, of Route 1, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Ranson, W.Va.
Born Jan. 6, 1955, in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Clyde Leroy Hess and Elsie Mae Shade Edwards.
He was previously employed as the lead carpenter for Joe Seal Contracting.
He is survived by one daughter, Wendy M. Hess of Martinsburg; two sons, Steve A. Hess Jr. of Martinsburg and Dylan T. Hess of Inwood, W.Va.; two sisters, Linda Smith of Clear Spring and Cynthia Edwards of Martinsburg; four brothers, Jerry Hess of Gerrardstown, Ronald Hess, Richard Hess and David Edwards, all of Hagerstown; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold L. Hess and Ricky W. Hess Sr.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Harold O. Snyder will officiate. Burial will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery.

Vivian Alverda Kirkpatrick, 85, of 11 W. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 7, 1911, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mabel Arnsparger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Kirkpatrick Sr., on Aug. 15, 1970.
She was employed by Lewis' Market; Town & Country Market and Fairchild Aircraft.
She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, Harold R. Kirkpatrick Jr. of Williamsport; one granddaughter, Kimberly D. Hill of Clear Spring; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Genevieve Arnsparger, Hazel Bender and Katherine Mathias; and five brothers, Otha "Jack" D. Arnsparger, Stanley W. Arnsparger, Vaughn B. Arnsparger Sr., Roscoe Arnsparger and Clifford Arnsparger.

Stephen Paul "Mac" Filo, 81, of 17711 Daisy Drive, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 9, 1915, in Far Hills, N.J., he was the son of the late John and Catherine Filo.
He was employed by Mack Trucks, retiring in 1979.
He attended Maugansville Bible Brethren Church.
He was a member of Municipal Golf Club and Mack Golden Bulldogs.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Filo; one daughter, Nancy Fields of Roswell, Ga.; two sisters, Mary Frate of Rahway, N.J., and Florence Zarro of Seattle; one brother, Joseph Filo of Houston; and one grandson.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. John C. Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
