Elizabeth V. Fuller
FREDERICK, Md. - Elizabeth Virginia Fuller, 83, of 606 Mary St., died Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Frederick Health Care Center.
Born Aug. 14, 1913, in Brunswick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Mida Etta Palmer Holland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burt E. Fuller.
She retired from Fairchild Hiller Co. in Gaithersburg, Md.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Frederick.
She was a member of Samaritan Rebekah Lodge 51.
She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed playing cards.
She is survived by one daughter, Blanche M. King of Frederick; two sons, Joshua N. Monath Jr. of Thurmont, Md., and William E. Monath of Frederick; three sisters, Norma Badgeley of Bayville, N.J., Hazel Finneyfrock and Mida Ponton, both of Frederick; one brother, Charles Holland of Yellow Springs, Md.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Walter Lee Monath and Charles Earl Monath.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The Rev. Harold B. Wright II will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. Rebekah Lodge will conduct a memorial service at 8 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 3 to 9 p.m.
Lois A. Shaffer
Lois Ann Shaffer, 50, of Lakeside Trailer Park, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1997, at Western Maryland Hospital Center.
Born Sept. 9, 1946, in Washington County, she was the daughter of Earl F. Selby Sr. of Hagerstown and the late Janet L. Bornes Selby.
She was a 1964 graduate of South Hagerstown High School, and a graduate of Hagerstown Business College.
She was employed as a secretary with Brethren Mutual Insurance Co. in Hagerstown.
She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Joe D. Shaffer Sr. of Falling Waters, W.Va.; one daughter, Debbie Lynn Shaffer of Hagerstown; one son, Joe D. Shaffer Jr. of Hagerstown; one brother Earl Selby Jr. of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dennis L. Upton will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mary E. Yelverton
Mary Eva Yelverton, 88, of 64 Devonshire Road, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1997, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village.
Born Nov. 29, 1908, in Batesburg, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Sullivan V. and Ardelia Salter Davis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie L. Yelverton, in 1979.
She retired from Troy Laundry.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by one niece, Nancy B. Lott of Aiken, S.C.; two nephews, Wyman V. Bryant of Warrenville, S.C., and Thomas S. Bryant of Greenville, S.C.; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Edward H. Heim will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service Saturday.
Ervin Webb
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Ervin "Ted" Webb, 78, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1997, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg.
Born March 5, 1918, in Rockingham County, Va., he was the son of the late William E. and Sallie Whisler Webb.
He was a house painter and was employed by Wilsons Building Service in Winchester, Va.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He was a member of Mt. Olive Chapel Presbyterian Church in Harrisonburg, Va.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Ruth Nesmith Webb; three daughters, Elaine Cox of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., Dottie McDonald of Martinsburg, and Shelley Fleming, at home; two sons, Dennis Webb of Fayetteville, Pa., and Kenneth "Hank" Webb of Winchester; two sisters, Irene Moyers of Harrisonburg and Olive Rhinehart of Aberdeen, Md.; six grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Fleming; one sister; and six brothers.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel, 20260 Rosedale Road, Martinsburg. The Rev. Theodore D. Higby will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services for Julia R. Huffer, who died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg.

Edward W. Greene
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Edward W. Greene, 78, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 1997, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg.
Born June 15, 1918, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Edward F. and Lulu Myers Greene.
He was retired and formerly employed by Motorcroft Co. in Muncy, Pa. He was previously employed by Spickler's and Kidwiler Service Stations.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army.
He was formerly a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
He was a member of Newton D. Baker Post 896 VFW.
He is survived by one son, Jerome Greene of Danville, Pa.; two sisters, Mildred Kramerage of Martinsburg and Shirley Fearnow of Emerald Isle, N.C.; one brother, Robert Greene of Martinsburg; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Lou Nicewarner; and one brother, Leo Greene.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. John V. DiBacco Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg. Military graveside services will be conducted by Newton D. Baker Post 896 VFW and Berkeley Post 14 American Legion.

John R. Dayhoff
John Richard Dayhoff, of Hagerstown, died Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born in Hagerstown, he was the son of Donald Richard and Janet Kathryn Detrich Dayhoff of Hagerstown.
He was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School.
He received his bachelor of arts degree from Western Maryland College. He was a member of the Gamma Beta Chi fraternity.
He was a graduate of the University of Maryland, Maryland Banking School and Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.
He received his masters degree in business administration from Hood College.
He was a vice president of retail banking, branch administration for Farmers & Mechanics Bank & Trust.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he formerly served on the church council and various other committees, and was a member of the Disciple Sunday School class.
He also was a member of the Downtown Kiwanis and had served on their board of directors; was a member of the board of trustees of the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, where he served as treasurer; was past president of the Bank Administration Institute-Blue Ridge Chapter; and a member of the American Cancer Society, serving with Relay for Life and Bone Marrow Registry.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kathleen Louise Grove Dayhoff; one sister, Barbara Jean Curtis of Bowie, Md., and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 141 South Potomac Street, Hagerstown.
The Rev. Ed Heim will officiate.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

James K. Faircloth
KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - James K. Faircloth, 60, of Rt. 2, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Dec. 12, 1936, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Allen and Lucy Miller Faircloth.
He was employed by the City of Martinsburg Sanitation Department.
He was a member of the Mountainside Tabernacle.
He is survived by his wife, Daisy Myers Faircloth; one daughter, Brenda Owen of Martinsburg; one foster daughter, Tammy Young of Martinsburg; two foster sons, Jerry Myers and Tony Faircloth, both of Martinsburg; three brothers, Forest Granville Faircloth, Curtis Cleo Faircloth, and Carl L. Faircloth, all of Martinsburg; and one half sister, Helen Faircloth of Martinsburg.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Richard Faircloth.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. The Rev. Harold L. Hess and the Rev. Edward Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Mountainside Tabernacle Church Cemetery.
