Betty Irene Jones, 45, of 21632 Miller Church Road, Hagerstown, who died Thursday, Jan. 9, 1997, is survived by a sister, Julie Shindel.
Dorotha A. W. Shroyer
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Dorotha A. Wayde Shroyer, 79, of 609 Folger Street, and formerly of Bedford County, Pa., died Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at her home.
Born Aug. 16, 1917, in Alum Bank, Pa., she was the daughter of the late James Cress and Ada Brown Wayde.
She married her husband George Irvin Shroyer on Feb. 18, 1939.
He preceded her in death on May 19, 1991.
She attended the New Paris Schools.
She received her LPN degree in a special program through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
She ran an assisted-care living facility from her home for many years in both New Paris and Buffalo Mills in Bedford County.
She was a member of Waynesboro Church of God, where she also was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class and the Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter, Ada Snurr of Waynesboro; three sisters, Alice Roth of Ephrata, Pa., Jessie Frey of Millersville, Pa., and Elsie Harbaugh of Nottingham, Pa.; two brothers, Albert Wayde of Red Bank, N.J. and Jay Wayde of Lancaster, Pa.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters; one brother; and one grandchild.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Manns Choice Church of God, Manns Choice, Pa.
The Rev. Roger Cales and the Rev. Abbott will officiate.
Burial will be in Shellsburg Cemetery, Shellsburg, Pa.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Snyder-Lochstampfor Funeral Home, corners of South Church and West Second Streets, Waynesboro.
Friends also may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Patricia M. Knipple
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Patricia "Patsy" Medler Knipple, 49, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at City Hospital, Martinsburg.
Born Nov. 25, 1947, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of Catherine Taylor Medler of Martinsburg and the late James Franklin Medler.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son, James Medler of Martinsburg; seven sisters, Cindy Dorsey, Linda Custer, Brenda Miller, Bonnie Welty, Tina Edwards, all of Martinsburg, Judy Barrett of Marlowe, W.Va., and Kathy McCormick of Harrisburg, Pa.; and one brother, Michael L. Medler, of Inwood, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Gloria Sims, and two brothers, John Medler and Tobey Medler.
Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
The Rev. Earl R. Hairston III will officiate.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

Leroy F. Landis
FALLING WATERS, W.Va. - Leroy Franklin Landis, 94, of Rt. 1, died Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at City Hospital, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born May 16, 1902, in Falling Waters, he was the son of the late John M. and Mary Fleming Landis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace V. Tosten Landis.
He was employed by the former Federal Silk Mill, Williamsport.
He was a member of Marlowe Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by five sons, Leroy J. Landis and Jerry C. Landis, both at home, Norman R. Landis, Clarence H. Landis and Lester L. Landis Sr. all of Marlowe, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
Services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
The Rev. James Haskiell will officiate. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Marlowe, W.Va.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Nettie I. Albrecht
KNOXVILLE, Md. - Nettie Inez Albrecht, 89, of Knoxville, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 7, 1907, in Pitts, Ga., she was the daughter of the late L. O. and Sally Jones Peacock.
She was a member of the Self Revelation Church, Washington, D.C.
She is survived by one son, Thomas Albrecht of Bethesda, Md.; three sisters, Vera Bridges of Macon, Ga., Ora Rockwell of Bethesda, and Dorothy Watkins of Pineview, Ga.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Emmet Peacock, Felder Peacock and Jesse Peacock.
Services will be scheduled at a later date.

Carole M. Jones
ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Carole M. Jones, 65, of 4575 North Hedgerow Drive, and formerly of Wyoming Street, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., died Thursday, Jan. 9, 1997, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Allentown.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late John and Eleanor DeNapoli Ferguson.
She was a 1949 graduate of Smithsburg High School.
She also was a graduate of the Bradford Beauty School, Wilkes-Barre.
She operated Carole's Beauty Shop, Wilkes-Barre, for several years.
She was later employed by the RCA Corp., Mt. Top, Pa. for several years.
She was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served as a corporal during the Korean War.
She was a former member of Christ Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre, where she had been a teacher in the Sunday school class.
She also was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre.
She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Allentown.
She also was a member of Joseph E. Conlon Post 558, American Legion, Plains Township, Pa. and was a charter member of the Women's Memorial, Women in Military Service in America, Washington, D.C.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, William G. Jones; one daughter, Bonnie Bays of Wescoesville, Pa.; one son, William D. Jones of Middleburg, Pa.; a foster daughter, Wendy Fisher at home; one brother, John Ferguson of Revere Beach, Mass.; five grandchildren; one niece; and two nephews.
Services will be held today at 3 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 822 North 19th Street, Allentown.
The Rev. Ronald Yergy will officiate.
Burial will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville, Luzerne County, Pa.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Fred Arthur Thompson, 84, of 7985 Tomstown Road, died Monday, Jan. 6, 1997, at his home.
Born July 1, 1912, in Montgomery, Ala., he was the son of the late Thomas Belser and Louise Flynn Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Elizabeth Thompson on Aug. 23, 1988.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, having served during World War II.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Chambersburg, Pa.
He also was a member of B.P.O. Elks 791, Waynesboro and the Eagles Club Inc.
He is survived by one stepson, Todd D. Locke of Riverside, Calif.; one sister, Julia Waldrit of Montgomery; one brother, Joseph A. Burkhardt of New Orleans; three step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

Hilda J. B. LeCarpentier
Hilda Jane Breeden LeCarpentier, 75, of 11 West Baltimore Street, Hagerstown, died Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born May 10, 1921, in Sharpsburg, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Gerronder and Maude Gladys Benner Giffin.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hubert Breeden in 1979 and her second husband, John LeCarpentier in 1996.
She was employed by E.J. Fennel Corp. for many years.
She was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bakersville, Md.
She is survived by three sisters, Pauline G. Norris of Keedysville, Armatha A. Durboraw of Hagerstown and Elaine E. Swope of Tilghmanton; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy D. Durboraw and Ruth A. Stull.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 South Conococheague Street, Williamsport.
The Rev. Richard Hembrock will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery, Sharpsburg.
