MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Heather Dawn Brown, 16, of 7975 Charlestown Road, died Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born Jan. 27, 1980, in Grafton, W.Va., she was the daughter of Glen W. and Mary F. Arbogast Brown Jr.
She attended James Buchanan High School.
She was a member of a non-denominational church.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by four sisters, Robin Teets of Stroudsburg, Pa., Debby Reckart of Bruceton Mills, W.Va., Vicki Pillis of Hagerstown and Paula S. Hege of Mercersburg; two brothers, Glen W. Brown III of Horse Shoe Run, W.Va. and Joseph Brown of Mercersburg; two nieces and two nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
Sam McCracken will officiate.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary V. Johnson
MAUGANSVILLE - Mary V. Johnson, 77, of 13715 Village Mill Drive, and formerly of Big Pool, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 20, 1919, in Cherry Run, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Gold W. and Katherine M. McCallister White.
Her husband, Maurice M. Johnson, died in 1985.
She worked at Londontowne in Hancock for 15 years.
She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Big Pool.
She is survived by two daughters, Peggy J. Coffman of Gaithersburg, Md., and Brenda L. Hart of Hagerstown; two sisters, Joyce Bare of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Ruth Michaels of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; two brothers, Junior C. White of Cherry Run, and George W. White of Berkeley Springs; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Alice Fearnow, Margaret Triggs, Dorothy Welshans, Wanda Eversole and Patrice White; and one brother, Max White.
Services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Big Pool.
The Rev. Dennis W. Whitmore will officiate.
Burial will be in Shanktown Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, today from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Floyd E. Burger
Floyd Eugene Burger, 63, of 17420 Cindy Lane, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 29, 1933, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Merle B. and Devona Weddle McElroy.
He was owner of Pete's Transfer in Hagerstown.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Army.
He was a member of American Legion Morris Frock Post 42, Korean War Last Man's Club, and AARP.
He is survived by his wife, Henrietta H. Burger; four daughters, Catherine Artkop of Thurmont, Md., Frances Snyder and Stephanie "Buffy" Burger, both of Hagerstown, and Cheryl Waugh of Padukah, Ky.; three sisters, Audrey Smith and Diane Rivera, both of Hagerstown, and Inez Lefkowitz of Baltimore; stepmother, Emma Burger Hamilton of Hagerstown; 10 stepbrothers and stepsisters; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.
The Rev. Victor Zuck will officiate.
Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

Robert R. Clark
Robert "Bob" Raymer Clark, 68, of 11016 Lakeside Drive, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at his home.
Born Dec. 4, 1928, in Smethport, Pa., he was the son of the late Lester Joseph and Lillian Phoebe Michaels Clark Sr.
He retired from Roadway Express in 1990 after 16 years of employment.
He was employed by Wal-Mart photo processing from 1994 to 1996.
He is survived by his wife, Rowena A. Clark; one daughter, Kathleen Ann High of Falling Waters, W.Va.; three sons, Dan Robert Clark of Yucca Valley, Calif., Martin Alan Clark of Funkstown, and Dale Richard Clark of Hagerstown; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Lester Joseph Clark Jr.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery.
The Rev. Loyal H. Vanderveer will officiate.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Anna C. Ward, 82, of Huyetts Crossroads, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997, at her home.
Born Jan. 29, 1914, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles O. and Myrtle V. Wilson Martin.
She was employed with William H. Reisner Co. in Hagerstown for 20 years.
She is survived by her husband, John R. Ward; one daughter, Sharon E. Blickenstaff of Hagerstown; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.
The Rev. William H. Freed Jr. will officiate.
Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Noah B. Wadel Sr.
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Noah B. Wadel Sr., 79, of 2440 Loop Road, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Aug. 18, 1917, in Southampton Township, Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late John P. and Katie Nye Wadel.
His first wife, Lydia Horst Wadel, died in 1958.
He was a retired custodian at Franklin County Area Vocational-Technical School.
Early in life, he was a bread carrier.
He was a member of Strasburg Mennonite Church in Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Ebersole Wadel; three daughters, Esther M. Showalter of Greencastle, Pa., Eunice E. Lehman of Chambersburg, and Martha E. Horst of Millen, Ga.; six sons, John S. Wadel, Daniel H. Wadel, Noah B. Wadel Jr. and Robert D. Wadel, all of Chambersburg, Luke M. Wadel of Spring Grove, Pa., and James M. Wadel of Flat Gap, Ky.; two sisters, Lydia Lehman of Shippensburg, Pa., and Anna Crider of Chambersburg; one brother, Laban Wadel of Shippensburg; 49 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Emily R. Wadel; three sisters and two brothers.
Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Rowe Mennonite Church, Pinola Road, Shippensburg.
The Rev. Allen J. Fleagle, the Rev. Lee Roy Yeager, the Rev. Nathan L. Wadel and the Rev. Ellis L. Martin will officiate.
Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery, adjoining the church.

Winfield A. Treadwell
Winfield A. "Tread" Treadwell, 85, of Resh Road, Hagerstown, and formerly of Takoma Park, Md., died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 20, 1911, in Tampa, Fla., he was the son of the late Winfield H. and Nona Dann Treadwell.
He was retired owner of Treadwell Excavating Service in Takoma Park.
He was a member of Williamsport Seventh-day Adventist Church.
He was a private pilot and a member of Aeronautical Pilots Owners Association.
He was past president of Optimist International Club, past governor of Loyal Order of Moose in Silver Spring, Md., and a member of Improved Order of Redmen Club in Williamsport.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mellicent K. Treadwell; three daughters, Treadene T. Keightley of Humansville, Mo., Jeanette T. Darnell of Sugar Grove, N.C., and Terri L. Milburn of Manassas, Va.; two brothers, Harold A. Treadwell of Sarasota, Fla., and Harry D. Treadwell of Washington, D.C.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel T. Kidwell and Stacchia T. Moore.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
Pastor Brian Stevenson will officiate.
Burial will be in George Washington Cemetery in Hyattsville, Md.

Jerry L. Dalton
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Jerry L. Dalton, 60, of 2792 Black Gap Road, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at Piney Mountain in Fayetteville, Pa.
Born Aug. 12, 1936, in Danville, Va., he was the son of the late Tony S. and Janie M. Overcash Dalton.
He was a 1954 graduate of George Washington High School in Danville.
He attended the Danville Extension of Virginia Polytechnical Institute in Danville for two years.
He was a district salesman for Zenith Corp. for 12 years.
He then worked as a coordinator with Plummer Engineering Corp. in Chambersburg for several years, and worked part-time at Imberhaven Golf Co. Inc. in Carlisle, Pa.
He served with the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Chambersburg.
He also was a member and past president of Chambersburg Country Club in Chambersburg, and a member of B.P.O. Elks 600 in Chambersburg, and Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 V.F.W. in Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Wallace Dalton, whom he married June 27, 1959; one son, Michael Wallace Dalton of Schenectady, N.Y.; and two brothers, Pat Dalton of South Boston, Va., and Garland Dalton, who resides near Tacoma, Wash.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Lee Dalton Jr.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg.
The Rev. Neal O. Hively will officiate.
Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Arden E. "A.E." Martin, 67, of 5685 Montgomery Church Road, died Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro, Pa.
Born May 25, 1929, in Keyser, W.Va., he was the son of the late Edward T. and Beulah Devilbiss Martin.
He was a brakeman with the former Western Maryland Railway in Hagerstown, retiring after 31 years of service.
He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret L. Shockey Martin, whom he married July 3, 1952; two daughters, Beverly S. Witmer of Mont Alto, Pa., and Judy L. Daley of Greencastle; two sons, Michael E. Martin of Upton, Pa., and Bruce W. Martin of Mont Alto; one sister, Glenda A. Whetzel of Hagerstown; one brother, Marion T. Martin of Raven, Va.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Kate Evans and Joyce K. Evans; and two brothers, Robert H. Martin and Ronald L. Martin.
Services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Lorne G. Lichty will officiate.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Glenn S. Spielman
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Glenn Switcher Spielman, 81, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at Integrated Health Services in Charles Town, W.Va.
Born Sept. 15, 1915, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of the late Clarence and Melvie Palmer Spielman.
His wife, Lillian Kackley Spielman, preceded him in death.
He was a truck driver for Consumer Coal Co.
He is survived by two sisters, Mary Avey of Martinsburg, and Ethel Crouse of Berkeley Springs; and one brother, Fred Spielman of Martinsburg.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Stella Spielman; and one brother, Belford Spielman.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg.
The Rev. Hubert Plummer will officiate.
Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Martinsburg.
