William R. Hasson
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - William Robert Hasson, 81, of Hollywood, died Monday, Jan. 13, 1997, at Aventura Hospital in Dade County, Fla.
Born Feb. 7, 1915, in Hyattsville, Md., he was the son of the late William R. Hasson and Ella Victoria Reese Hasson Fitch.
He was a retired welder at the U.S. Naval Yard in Washington, D.C.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by three sisters, Rosalie Hasson Leap of Hollywood, and Eleanor V. Connolly and Lily Watson, both of Hyattsville.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roland Hasson and Harry Hasson.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, Md.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are being handled by Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town, W.Va.
Mary E.K. Flory
QUINCY, Pa. - Mary E. Kauffman Flory, 91, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 25 N. Potomac St., Waynesboro, Pa., died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997, at the nursing home.
Born Jan. 21, 1905, near Greencastle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Reba Bartle Kauffman.
She was a 1923 graduate of Waynesboro High School.
Her husband, Lester B. Flory, died in 1966.
They were married Oct. 15, 1927.
She moved to Trinity House in the early 1980s, before entering Quincy United Methodist Home in 1993.
She was employed at Landis Machine Co. as a secretary for eight years.
She was a member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren in Waynesboro.
She is survived by one son, Missionary Robert D. Flory of Mont Alto, Pa.; one grandson, John T. Flory of Mont Alto; three nieces; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, William Flory; two sisters, Arlene Baker and Margaret Kauffman; and one brother, Rudolph Kauffman.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
Robert Stover will officiate.
Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
There will be no public viewing.

Joseph N. Rowe
Joseph Newcomer Rowe, 83, of 212 Brookside Terrace, Hagerstown, died Monday, Jan. 13, 1997, at Coffman Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 13, 1913, in Smithsburg, he was the son of the late Daniel Gehr and Cora Edna Newcomer Rowe.
He became affiliated with Maryland General Realty in 1961, and was the owner from 1981 to 1990.
He was past president of the Greater Hagerstown Board of Realtors.
From 1975 to 1993, he served on the By-Laws Committee, in 1977, he was a member of RPAC Committee, in 1990, he received the organization's distinguished service award, and in 1968, he was named Realtor of the Year.
He was president of the Maryland Association of Realtors 1970-1971, and was regional vice president of the National Association of Real Estate Board.
He was state director and member of the board of directors for the Maryland Association of Realtors in 1981.
He held all elected offices in the Maryland association and chaired many committees.
He was an appointed member of the Hagerstown Redevelopment Authority from 1985 to 1994.
He was a member of First Christian Church, serving as a deacon and member of the board of directors.
He was past president of the Chewsville Lions Club, a member of the Hagerstown Lions Club, B.P.O.E. 378, American Legion Morris Frock Post 42, and American Federation of Musicians No. 770.
From 1950 to 1992 he was bass player and business manager for the musical group "The Imperials."
He was a real estate instructor at Hagerstown Junior College from 1970 to 1987.
He is survived by one daughter, Susan Patricia Rowe of Hagerstown; one brother, Carroll Daniel Rowe of Oldfields, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Erin Elizabeth Smith of Smithsburg, and Jeffrey Scott Fignar of Hagerstown; and two great-grandsons.
Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
The Rev. Fred M. Harris will officiate.
Entombment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, with military honors conducted by American Legion Morris Frock Post 42.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Irene M. Weber
HARRISONBURG, Va. - Irene M. Weber, 85, of 1051 B. Smith Ave., died Monday, Jan. 13, 1997, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 6, 1911, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Mary Carpenter Martin.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Bank Mennonite Church.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard D. Weber, whom she married Oct. 4, 1934; two daughters, Charlotte W. Wood of Harrisonburg, and Lucille M. Weber of Grottoes, Va.; three sisters, Anna Mellinger of East Berlin, Pa., Esther Hess of Nottingham, Pa., and Elizabeth Huber of Lancaster, Pa.; four brothers, Adam Martin of Chambersburg, Pa., Ralph Martin of Waynesboro, Va., Mark Martin of Manheim, Pa., and Lewis Martin of York, Pa.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bank Mennonite Church.
The Rev. David Burkholder and the Rev. Charles Heatwole will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m.

Floyd Eugene Burger, 63, of 17420 Cindy Lane, Hagerstown, who died Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, is survived by one son, Thomas Burger of Washington, D.C.
Margaret R. Roberts
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Margaret "Mickey" Rowe Roberts, 69, of Huntington, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997, at St. Mary's Hospital.
Born Jan. 30, 1927, in Clarksburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Orion A. and Lottie Cottrill Rowe.
She was a graduate of Poca High School and attended Morris Harvey College.
She retired from the accounting department of C.I. Whitten Transfer.
She was a member of Beverly Hills United Methodist Church, the John Wesley Sunday School Class and the U.M.W.
She was a volunteer for Hospice of Huntington and Contact of Huntington.
She bowled with "Beard's Young at Heart" Bowling League.
She is survived by her husband, Richard R. Roberts; one sister, Alice Roberts of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two brothers, Marion W. Rowe of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Gene D. Rowe of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Orion A. Rowe Jr., Lynwood A. "Jack" Rowe and an infant, William Rowe.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Beverly Hills United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Tom Nolan will officiate.
Burial will be in Beach Grove Cemetery in Eleanor, W.Va.

Henry J. Deblois
CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Henry Joseph Deblois, 77, of Charles Town, died Monday, Jan. 13, 1997, at his home.
Born April 8, 1919, in Winthrop, Maine, he was the son of the late Samuel and Exzelia Audette Deblois.
He was a bricklayer in the Washington, D.C., area, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of Charles Town Baptist Church.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy as seaman first class.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Grace E. Tschudy Deblois; one daughter, Carol Ann Bennetti of Severna Park, Md.; two sons, Alan Henry Deblois of Charles Town, and Timothy Brunner Deblois of Poolesville, Md.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Julia Sprague, Jennie Drapeau, Bernadette Deblois and Adrienne Jolicour; and three brothers, Wilfred J. Deblois, Edgar Deblois and Fernand Deblois.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town.
The Rev. Wyman Hall will officiate.
Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town.

S. Louise Shilling
SMITHSBURG - S. Louise Shilling, 83, of Jefferson Boulevard, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 27, 1913, at Welsh Run, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George C. and Maude Stickell Myers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William V. Shilling, in 1975.
She was employed by Hagerstown Shoe Co. for 39 years.
She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Chewsville.
She was a member of Chewsville Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two brothers, Marlin E. Myers of Emlenton, Pa., and Lauren Myers of Greencastle, Pa.; four grandchildren, Belinda S. Stull and Keith R. Shindle, both of Hagerstown, Dana J. Richmond of Pittsburgh, and Kirk D. Shindle of Atlanta; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter Jane E. Shilling Shindle; and three brothers, John Myers, George Myers and Wilbur Myers.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.
The Rev. John W. Schildt will officiate.
Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery.
