Lannie S. Greer
FREDERICK, Md. - Lannie Singleton Greer, 80, of Frederick, and formerly of Fairplay, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1997, at Northampton Manor Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 20, 1916, in Bristol, Va., she was the daughter of the late William K. and Amanda Halton Singleton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy E. Greer.
She was employed as a registered nurse, mostly in private care.
She is survived by three daughters, Bonnie Lee Harrison, Shirley J. Shepley, both of Frederick, and Barbara Smith of Oklahoma; one stepson, Ronnie Greer of Hagerstown; five sisters, Mary Frances Gill, Rose Brummett, Luanne Kimberlin, May Linder and Margie Greer; one brother, Bruce Singleton; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ella Mae Morris; one son, Clifford Greer; and two brothers, Barney Lee Singleton and Bob Singleton.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
The Rev. Richard Glass and Brother Kenneth Ricker will officiate.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Deanna G. Harr
NEEDMORE, Pa. - Deanna G. Harr, 34, of HCR 81, Box 10, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, at her home.
Born Jan. 7, 1963, in Winchester, Va., she was the daughter of Denver Kerns of Burlington, Iowa, and the late Ann Marshall Kerns.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Needmore Volunteer Fire Co.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Roger Harr; one daughter, Amy Harr at home; two sisters, Sharon Mellott of Warfordsburg, Pa., and Sheila McFadden of Needmore; and one brother, Denver Kerns Jr. of Needmore.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Christian Church.
The Rev. Denver Plessinger will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 322 N. Second Street, McConnellsburg, Pa.

Margaret E. Shives
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Margaret Ellen Shives, 88, of Berkeley Springs and formerly of Hancock, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, at Valley View Nursing Home, Berkeley Springs.
Born March 6, 1908, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Arthur B. and Annie E. Lineweaver Yost.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ashby P. Shives, on Aug. 26, 1963.
She attended New Hope School, Berkeley Springs.
She was employed by Interwoven, Berkeley Springs.
She was a housekeeper for L. L. Gerber in Hancock for 30 years.
She attended Hancock Assembly of God Church, Hancock.
She is survived by one daughter, Naomi Virginia Shives Younker of Hancock; two sisters, Lilie DeHaven of Berkeley Springs and Ica Blake of Vancover, W.Va.; one brother, Arthur Franklin Yost of Karneysville, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Lawrence Yost, Robert Yost, Glen Yost, Theodore Yost, infant Irven Yost, and one grandson, Thomas Christopher Younker.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Piney Plains United Methodist Church, Little Orleans, Md.
Pastor Robert Smith Sr. and Pastor George Lashley will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main Street, Hancock.

The Rev. Joseph F. Barr will be celebrant at funeral services for Lacy Helen Barr, 84, of Clearview Nursing Home, Hagerstown, and formerly of Summit Avenue, Hagerstown, who died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1997.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

HANCOCK - Rebecca Elaine "Becky" Faith, 37, of 9013 Slagtown Road, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, near Hancock, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born Feb. 4, 1959, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Judith Elaine Stumbaugh Palmer and the late Paul Edward "Pete" Palmer Sr.
She was employed by Pittman's Grocery, Hancock.
She was of the United Methodist faith.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Henry Lee Faith; one daughter, Trisha Niccole Faith of Williamsport; one son, Daniel Lee Rhyne of Hagerstown; one stepdaughter, Milissa Sue Faith of Hagerstown; one sister, Cheryl E. Rickett of Hagerstown; two brothers, Jacob L. "Roy" Palmer and Edward C. Palmer, both of Williamsport; three half sisters, Joyce L. Oliver, Shirley A. Fox and Susanne J. Loveless, all of Hagerstown; one half brother, Paul E. Palmer Jr. of Daytona, Fla. and her grandmother, Dorothy H. "Maa" Lushbaugh of Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Charles Leroy Stumbaugh and her step-grandfather, Howard "Buzz" Lushbaugh.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague Street, Williamsport.
The Rev. W. Gregory Martin will officiate.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from noon until the time of the service.

Ellice G. Cameron
MILLVILLE, W.Va. - Ellice Genevieve Cameron, 78, of Millville, who died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, at Heartland of Martinsburg Nursing Home, was preceded in death by her husband, James Frank Cameron, in 1973.
Welles R. Bliss
FREDERICK, Md. - The Rev. Welles Royce Bliss, 76, of Homewood Retirement Center, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 1996, at Homewood Retirement Center.
Born May 27, 1920, in Glen Ridge, N.J., he was the son of the late Welles R. and Gladys Marie Heischmann Bliss.
He was a 1938 graduate of Glen Ridge High School.
He also was a 1942 summa cum laude graduate of Lehigh University, where he received a bachelor of arts degree and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
In 1945, he received a master's degree from Columbia University.
In 1948, he received his S.T.M. from General Theological Seminary.
A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he was wounded at the battle of Tarawa in 1943 and was discharged in 1945 with the rank of captain.
He was ordained as a priest in the Episcopal church in 1948.
He was vicar at Christ Church in Totowa Boro, N.J., from 1948 to 1950 and was rector of Grace Church, Nutley, N.J., from 1950 to 1965.
He was chaplain and master of Latin and sacred studies at St. James School in St. James from 1965 to 1970.
From 1970 to 1973, he was rector of St. Mary's in Belvidere, N.J., and from 1973 to 1981, was rector at Holy Trinity in Collingswood, N.J.
During the summers of 1954 to 1980, he was a minister at St. Elisabeth's Chapel in Ortley Beach, N.J.
In 1981, he became associate rector at St. Boniface in Sarasota, Fla., where he retired in 1987.
While in the Diocese of New Jersey, he was a member of the Examining Chaplains; trustee of the Youth Committee and Youth Consultation Services; Ecclesiastical court clerk on the Diocesan Council; member of Department of Missions, Radio and TV Commission; Liturgical Commission and was archdeacon of Essex County from 1959 to 1965.
He held offices ranging from fire chaplain in Totowa Boro to president of the Nutley First Aid Squad and Red Cross chairman.
He was a trustee of the Hospice of Sarasota from 1982 to 1988.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth duFour Bliss of Hagerstown; two daughters, Julia Elizabeth Barlup of Smithsburg and Jane Frances Bliss of Camden, N.J.; two sons, Michael Welles of Brigantine, N.J., and Peter Royce of King of Prussia, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, 101 S. Prospect St., Hagerstown.

Marie R. Schlack
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Marie Rebecca Schlack, 76, of Shepherdstown, died Monday, Nov. 4, 1996, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Aug. 17, 1920, in Bakerton, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Walter Bryan and Katherine Kidwiler Hoffmaster.
Her first husband, Melvin J. Gifft, preceded her in death.
She was a member of Bakerton Church of God.
She is survived by her husband, Richard B. Schlack; one daughter, Janie M. Dodson of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; one son, James B. Gifft of Shepherdstown; one stepson, Richard B. Schlack II of Sterling, Va.; one brother, Bryan Hoffmaster of Bakerton; three grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Bonnie Lou Sterling.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Bakerton Church of God, Bakerton.
The Rev. Franklin D. Baker will officiate.
Burial will be in Samples Manor Cemetery in Samples Manor.
