Kaolin R. Bear
HARRISONBURG, Va. - Kaolin Richard "KR" Bear, 85, of Harrisonburg, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.
Born June 9, 1911, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Theodore and Leona Gruber Bear.
He lived in Harrisonburg for 20 years before moving to Siler City, N.C., where he owned and operated a poultry farm for 25 years. He then moved back to Harrisonburg.
He was a member of Harrisonburg Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Geneva Nave Bear, whom he married June 7, 1930; one daughter, Betty Moyers of Harrisonburg; one son, Nelson Larry Bear of Greensboro, N.C.; one sister, Vada Banzhoff of Williamsport; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Harrisonburg Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Kerry Willis will officiate. Burial will be in Weavers Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Service, 208 S. Main St., Bridgewater, Va., today from 7 to 8 p.m. Friends also may call at the home of his daughter anytime at Route 5, Harrisonburg.

Lois D.H. Burke
KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - Lois Diane Heminger Burke, 50, of Kearneysville, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, at Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Va.
Born Oct. 24, 1946, in Midland, Mich., she was the daughter of the late Harold Z. and Esther I. Foster Heminger.
She was a graduate of University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Martin J. Burke; two daughters, Caitlin Burke and Nora Burke, both at home; one son, Eli Burke, at home; three sisters, Carolyn Zeljak of Freemont, Calif., Sharon Heminger of Ann Arbor, and Cathy Roberts of Wisconsin; and one brother, Alan Heminger of Dayton, Ohio.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Randall Tremba will officiate. Burial will be private.
Friends will be received at the church from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Charles C. Cole
FORT LOUDON, Pa. - Charles C. Cole, 83, of 5859 Forest Lane, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.
Born Feb. 3, 1913, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Joseph H. and Margaret M. Martin Cole.
He was employed as a pressman at J.E. Smith Co. in Baltimore, retiring in 1975.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Frances T. Bornman Cole, whom he married Oct. 24, 1942; two daughters, M. Jean Booze of Fort Loudon, and Frances C. Brown of Newport News, Va.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Carrick United Methodist Church in Metal Township, Pa. The Rev. Karl Herman will officiate. Burial will be in Carrick United Methodist Cemetery.
There will be no viewing.

Robert E. Hill
FREDERICK, Md. - Robert Eugene "Dick" Hill, 74, of 338 1/2 Park Ave., died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, at his home.
Born March 1, 1922, in Rileyville, Va., he was the son of the late Ernest Eugene and Fay Cameron Hill.
He was employed with Genstar as a truck mechanic for 33 years, and engaged in farming part time with the late G. Wilson Mercer.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in France and Germany.
He was a member of St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Frederick.
He also was a member of Edwin C. Creager Post 168 American Legion in Thurmont, Md., AMVETS Post 2 and Loyal Order of Moose 371, both in Frederick.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Roderick Hill, whom he married Jan. 18, 1949; two sisters, Elizabeth Barber of Damascus, Md., and Judy Naundorf of Delaware; one brother, James P. Hill of Creagerstown, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 116 E. Second St., Frederick, with the Rev. Wayne G. Funk as celebrant. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Park Cemetery in Linden Hills, Frederick.
The family will receive friends at Robert E. Dailey and Son Funeral Home, 1201 N. Market St., Frederick, Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

George R. Mitchell Jr.
VIENNA, Va. - George Randolph Mitchell Jr., 55, of Vienna, and formerly of Charles Town, W.Va., died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, at Vencore Hospital in Arlington County, Va.
Born July 2, 1941, in Charles Town, he is the son of Elizabeth V. Luckett Mitchell of Charles Town, and the late George Randolph Mitchell.
He was a 1959 graduate of Page-Jackson High School in Charles Town, and attended West Virginia State College in Institute, W.Va.
He was the owner and operator of Mitchell Systems Corp., a computer company, in Annandale, Va.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the U.S. Air Force.
He was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church.
He also was a member of Star Masonic Lodge 1 in Charles Town.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Vivian M. Braxton Mitchell; one daughter, Jennifer C. Mitchell of Vienna; one son, Brian E. Mitchell of Dumfries, Va.; one brother, Marshall E. Mitchell of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Charles Street in Charles Town. The Rev. J. Sherman Lambert will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends will be received at the church after the funeral service on Wednesday.

Linda Y.H. Zeigler
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Linda Yvonne House Zeigler, 49, of 11132 Bumgardner Lane, died Friday, Jan. 17, 1997, at Harrisburg General Hospital in Harrisburg, Pa.
Born July 2, 1947, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Delores Lindsay House of McConnellsburg, Pa., and the late Richard E. House Sr.
She was a 1965 graduate of Smithsburg High School. She also was a graduate of Hagerstown Junior College and the University of Maryland.
She was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot for 18 years, and was previously employed with Smith and Elliott Co.
She served in the U.S. Army at Fort McClellan, Ala., during the Vietnam era.
She was listed in "Who's Who."
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Ronald Zeigler; and two sons, David Zeigler at home and Henry Jacobs of Greencastle, Pa.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Ricky House; and grandparents Clarence and Iva Lindsay.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. David B. Kaplan will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown, with military graveside services conducted by Morris Frock American Legion Post 42 honor guard.

Lottie L. Aleshire
Lottie Loretta "Polly" Aleshire, 87, of 11311 Hunter Hill Drive, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, at her home.
Born May 3, 1909, in Great Cacapon, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late George and Ada Stienbaugh Divelbliss.
She was employed with E.J. Fennel, retiring in 1968 after 18 years of service. She was previously employed with Southern Shoe Co. for 15 years.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert C. Aleshire; one daughter, Mary Zeger of Hagerstown; one stepson, David Aleshire of Hagerstown; one brother, Melvin Divelbliss of Hagerstown; three stepsisters, Irma Stephens of Martinsburg, W.Va., Roxanna Gloryd of Great Cacapon, W.Va., and Betty Liken of Grove City, Ohio; one stepbrother, Paul Divelbliss of Terra Alta, W.Va.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. George A. Limmer will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Dean R. Blair Sr.
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Dean Ray Blair Sr., 61, of 13698 Mercersburg Road, was pronounced dead Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.
Born Oct. 24, 1935, in Montgomery Township, Franklin County, near Mercersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Clarence Omar and Elsie F. Shives Blair.
He was a 1953 graduate of Clear Spring High School. He then took courses while serving in the military.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 through 1958, serving in Okinawa.
He worked as a machinist at Frick Co. in Waynesboro, and then at Fairchild Aircraft Manufacturing in Hagerstown for several years. Prior to retiring on disability in 1996, he was a machinist for D.L. Martin Co. in Mercersburg for 27 years.
He was a member of Pleasant Hill United Brethren Church in Greencastle, where he served as financial secretary of the church for many years. He also taught in the primary department of the Sunday school for a number of years, and sang in the church choir.
He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Betsy E. Baer Blair, whom he married Jan. 2, 1958; one daughter, Sherry E. O'Brien of Chambersburg, Pa.; two sons, Dean R. Blair Jr. of Waynesboro, and Jeffrey G. Blair of Fremont, Calif.; three sisters, Verna Mowen of Waynesboro, Katie Black, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, and Janet Taylor of Worleytown, Pa.; four brothers, John Blair, Tom Blair and Dick Blair, all of Coseytown, Pa., and Irvin Blair of Hagerstown; six grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Walker and Betty Burkholder; and two brothers, Harry Blair and Clarence "Bud" Blair.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. James C. Mack will officiate. Burial will be in Price's Church Cemetery near Waynesboro.
