Eva Cutting, 87

Eva Jane Cutting, 87, of Gray, passed away on Thursday, April 18, at her home. She was surrounded by her loving family, friends and beloved cat, Rags.
She was born in Grafton, NH, in 1914, a daughter of Charles Abner and Edith Sylvia Cole Taylor.
In 1985, she moved to Gray and became a member of the United Church of Christ First Congregational Church of Gray. Mrs. Cutting also attended on occasion the Bible Believing Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Ralph William Cutting, a sister, Sylvia Taylor, and two brothers, Paul A. "Tubby" Taylor and George E. Taylor.
Surviving are her beloved cat, Rags; two daughters, Mrs. Patrick "Judith" Jameson, of Canaan, NH, and Mrs. William "Sheila" Merrow, of Penacook, NH; sisters-in-law Mrs. Gertrude Taylor, of Gray, Mrs. Cecile Cutting, Mrs. Dottie Cutting, Mrs. Waunetta Cutting and Mrs. Patricia Cutting, all of Penacook, NH, Mrs. Beryl Turcotte, of Concord, NH, and Mrs. Pauline White, of Virginia; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Cutting, of Penacook, NH; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
She will be buried in Blossom Hill Cemetery, Penacook, NH.

Lucien Dube passes away

Lucien Dube, 77, of Mayberry Road, died last Monday.
He was the husband of Marilyn Dube.
Mr. Dube was born in Brunswick, the only child of Wilfred A. Dube and Mary Houdak Dube.
He attended Brunswick High School, then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He saw action in World War II, Korea and Vietnam, winning three Purple Hearts, the Vietnam Gallantry Cross, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Combat Action Medal and Presidential Unit Citation. Mr. Dube served his country for thirty years.
In 1986, he built his home on Crystal Lake; he called it "God's country".
He was a communicant of St. Gregory's Parish.
His first wife, Jeanne Lavallee Dube, died in 1984. He is survived by his wife of eleven and a half years, Marilyn Olsson Dube; two stepsons, USMC Joseph C. Luke, III, and Matthew J. Luke, both of Gray; a stepdaughter, Maureen O'Connell, of North Conway, NH; a step-grandson, Joshua M. O'Connell, of Conway, NH; three daughters, Lorraine Dube, of Old Orchard Beach, Suzanne Dube, of California; three grandsons, Wendell Lackner, Jr., of Lewiston, Todd Lackner, of Indiana; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Friday at St. Gregory's.

Jonathan Webster

Jonathan Phillip Webster, 25, of Gray, died Saturday, July 27.
He was born in Biddeford, the son of Phillip and Judith Ann Cahill.
Mr. Webster enjoyed horseshoes, darts, sports, singing karaoke and spending time with friends.
He was predeceased in 1988 by a brother, Scott Webster.
He his survived by his parents, of Gray; one brother, Phillip Tame, Jr.; half-brothers Steven Webster and Joseph Luczkowski; a sister, Brenda Tame; half-sisters Terry Rodick and Sandra Leavitt; several uncles and aunts; two nieces; and a nephew.
A graveside service was held Friday morning at 10 A.M. in Gray Village Cemetery, with Pastor Clifford Welch officiating.
Arrangements were under the care of Wilson Funeral Home, Gray.
Richard Holden Chase

Richard Holden Chase, of Gray, who was born in 1919 in Stoneham, MA, died Monday, July 29, after a brief illness.
Mr. Chase is survived by his wife, Mary Crossman Chase; three children, Donald, of Gray and Londonderry, NH, Leslie Fumarola, of Gray, and Nancy Archibald, of Gray; three sisters, Virginia Newton, of Nantucket, Pauline Roos, of new London, NH, and Jeanne Knapton, of Hillsboro, NH; seven grandchildren, Richard Holden Chase II, of Gray, Sarah Archibald, of Gray, Dona Chase Herland, of Derry, NH, Thomas Fumarola, Jr., of Plympton, MA, Kristen Fumarola, of Green field, NH, Meredith Fumarola, of Plymouth, MA, Emanuel Archibald, of Farmington; and one great-granddaughter, Jamie Lynn Herland, of Derry, NH.
Mr. Chase celebrated his sixtieth wedding anniversary on July 4, with a large gathering of family and friends.
He joined the Navy during World War II, and served in the South Pacific as a Seabee at Bougainville, Guadalcanal and Okinawa. After the war, he moved his family back to Sharon, MA, where he was active as a Deacon in the Congregational Church and as a member of the Sharon Planning Board.
He worked for several major oil companies as an engineer. In 1971, he and his family moved to New York, Colorado Springs, Ottawa, Canada, and Topsham, Maine. A member of the American Legion Gray Post #86 for more than 33 years, Mr. Liscomb was also a member of the Retired Officers Association, 70Plus Ski club and B-24 club.
Survivors include his son, William Maine 04101.
H. Earl Megquier

H. Earl Megquier, 95, died Sunday, September 8, 2002, at a Bangor hospital.
He was born in New Gloucester, September 13, 1906, the son of Lawson and Juliette (Edwards) Megquier. Earl graduated from Deering High School in 1925. For many years, Earl lived in Maine 04412.
